Hi All:

I finally, if all goes well, will be going to see John for the first time (thanks Mary) on April 23 in Washington, DC. :jumper:

I am so looking forward to hearing him lecture and answer questions. I am also very interested to see him work and to feel the energy in the room. :musicnote

I would really like to know who is planning to attend and perhaps arrange to meet while we are down there (for some of you it might be up or over there! :) ).

It is a large venue so if anyone has been there before, I'd be grateful if you could give info on a good place for JE Friends to meet - perhaps even an inexpensive restaurant nearby.

Remember don't give any specific meeting plans or seating information in this thread. You can generally post here who is attending and then you can e-mail me through my profile and we can set particulars out of the 'public' eye if we are so minded!

Peace

I would have loved going and meeting you starlasue, since it's pretty close to me, but I'm flying back from Florida that day. I know others from the board are going so I hope you all get a chance to meet.

I'm usually the get-together organizer for events I attend and have met more people from this site than anyone else has. It adds so much to the enjoyment and I hope you all find each other.

Gail :)

Gail and Julie

Thanks! I am a little exctied! :D I wish I would have the opportunity to meet you both, but our time may come again sometime. I'll have ALL my friends here with me in my thoughts and will try to bring back some good stories to share.

Gail, do you know that area at all? I know you are a bit away from there, but thought you might have been in the past. Also any tips for coordinating a get-together since you have been 'hostess' before! E-mail me if you have specific info.

Peace

I don't know the area but other people on here do. It will make it easier for any of you to meet since you all have assigned seats and don't need to wait in a long line.

I've called different venues personally and friendly people there have always given me ideas on where to meet. I've also set up group emails to everyone who wants to meet so we could coordinate our plans. I've let them how to recognize me, even sending pictures.

Other members and I have had some great meeting fun and formed friendships from the get-togethers. The Workshop had the biggest group and the Las Vegas event was second. I'll always remember them and the people.

Gail :)

StarlaSue - I am driving over from Delaware and staying with my friend Susan who lives in Burke, VA. I am not sure what's close by but I will ask her since she's more up on the locale than I am. This will be her first time, too and my fourth or fifth...have kind of lost track. As Gail says, it's great having assigned seating so we can all wander around or come in at the last minute!!!!

...Bridges seminar. Each time, I find myself growing more calm and restful as the day approaches. I have found these events to be uplifting, funny, poignant and just plain fun. Seeing John is like seeing an old friend and always puts a smile on my face. I guess my main focus is not necessarily to get a read - although I wouldn't turn one down - but to enjoy the company and to, once again, marvel at the strong connections among people on both sides of the Veil. I am going with a friend who seems to have some psychic abilities and it will be interesting to see how that goes for her. All in all, a pretty good deal!! Looking forward to seeing you Friends there!

Ditto that Diane! I am really wanting to feel that energy and see John work. I am also interested to see how my small abilities do in that environment!

Don't forget to check out John's aura and let us know what you saw! It's usually quite stunning.

I wish I could pick up on aura's ...I might not have that ability...One time someone told me they saw a pretty coral color around me but I am not sure what that means....

To everyone who is attending the April 23rd seminar, you might want to check out the restaurants that are noted on the venue's web site and find out if they are actually open.

My husband and I attended a concert at the same location, on a Saturday evening. We walked and walked for several blocks in different directions only to find that every restaurant we came upon was closed!!

We wound up grabbing a sandwich at a Borders bookstore. You might want to consider bringing emergency rations just in case!

Blessings to All,

Thanks for the heads-up, Linda. That would be awful not to be able to find something to eat after traveling all that way. I'll check into it.

but I'll be at the seminar, too. I've spent the day typing up the list of people I know that may come through for my family and friends. I would love to be read, but just being there will be enough!

I'm really looking forward to this!

My daughter just called to tell me some very large protest has started in DC and it is on the same block as the venue. It is supposed to go on all week-end and the police are limiting access to the area. I am so new to this area, I don't know if this is common or what to expect. Does anyone know if this will affect the seminar?

The Women's Rally is scheduled for Sunday but I am sure there will be lots of extra traffic on Friday and Saturday as a result. Here's the article from the Washington Post:

Apparently it is a protest at World Bank and will go one all week-end. They have barricaded the bank and adjacent buildings and Pennsylvania Avenue is closed. According to the late news. This is, I believe, on the same block as the venue. But like I said, I am still new here.

To all those attending the seminar tonight -- Good times, good Friends, lots of positive energy; you know all your loved ones will be with you in spirit  -- it doesn't get any better than that!

They are closing the streets to vehicle traffic, but we should be able to walk to the seminar through most of the strees. I believe that only the streets closest to the World Bank building are closed to pedistrian traffic (World Bank is between 18th and 20th & G and Pennsylvania). Since we'll be at 18th and D, we shouldn't have a problem. If you're taking the metro, you may want to exit the 17th street exit of Farraugut Square, rather than the 18th street exit, just to avoid the protesters.

Here is a link that outlines the street closings close to the seminar tonight. I really recommend against driving, as parking will be next to impossible, particularly since people will be arriving about rush hour.

I look forward to seeing you all tonight!

I only ever saw what I would guess was his aura, only briefly, when I saw him in New Haven. There was this bright light (white) surrounding his entire body, and it kind of merged into his body, and flowed around him, even as he paced across the stage. I only saw it for minutes, if that.

:)

That's it! I have practiced seeing auras a little, though I don't do it much, which might be why I can "see it at will." BUT, my experience with John is that it "goes away" after a while. I think it is just so distracting you kind of filter it out or something. But your description is right on. Like when he moves, it sort of follows, as if it's not solid, but a cloud attached to him somehow.

Everyone I have talked to describes it just as you did. Thing is, when I first saw it, it was so mucch brighter and clearer than anything I ver saw before, I thought it was a trick of the light or something, too! Until other people started commenting on it.

I was exceptionally skeptical of John when I first saw him, and I still am of my own experiences, so I know how you feel.

I don't remember ever seeing an aura before learning how to see my own with some lessons on doing it. John's aura is the first one I've been able to see with my eyes wide open and without trying. I didn't notice it the first few times I saw him live. My daughter saw it when John did our reading, standing in front of her, and thought he had a bright spotlight on him. He didn't.

Wish I could have been at the DC seminar with you all.

There is a great thread by Fairiedust in the Study Group forum on seeing auras if anyone wants to read it. You have to be eligible to join it first by having listened to John's tapes/cds and by asking to join.
