Well, like some before me, I feel compelled to describe how John runs his seminar. It is actually very informal. I had called John 2yrs ago in his LI office for a one on one and was put on a list for group readings too. The group reading became available first and after a 2yr wait I went to beautiful downtown Secaucus, NJ.

There were 120 people in a small Training type room in a Holiday Inn. The cost was $100 for 4hours of readings. I estimate that JE read about 20% of the room because some readings involved groups of 3 to 6 people.

Upon entering the hotel, there was a woman at a desk checking off names and taking payment. There was no other discussion prior to entering the room. John entered, made some small talk, and began reading.

By the end of the readings, every group around me had been read. He had many hits. The biggest miss I heard was that he insisted a woman knew a man named Chester but neither she nor or daughter could recall such a person.

It seems that many readings flow to people sitting alongside or around the original target. Some things said to one, made sense to someone very nearby so there seemed to be some jostling for attention in the spirit world.

Although I wasn't read, there was 5mins left to the readings when I mentally shouted to my relatives to step forward.
To my amazement, John mentioned a tatoo on a foot, a surgery to the top of a foot and before I could acknowledge (because I was waiting for one more hit) he locked on with a woman for the rest of the session.

As he ended the readings, he began walking toward the front of the room and spun around and said, what is the significance of Sept 23, 24,25...I am getting something festive". Although the woman said something like it was a time they hold a party (couldnt quite hear),.......it also happens to be my birthdate.

So, if you plan on going, get that hand up early and wave it.
Just like on the show, JE doesn't hear too well and he has a problem the microphones as they frequently blow out.......very strange.

In any case, I was very happy to see that there is no significant lag to his 'hits' and it all flows very nicely. I don't think he is cold reading anyone because the things he brings out are just so unusual.

Last comment: He picked up on a man's 18yr old daughter in a fatal car crash going the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway. He got her age, the place, and number of others in other car.

I'd like to see the Amazing Randi or some other skeptic get read on the show. Would really love to hear their comments afterward.

The seminars used to be much smaller -can you imagine?

I think too, that Diceman had a typo with his date - it probably wasn't August 2001, but maybe 2000 or even 1999?

Diceman, you out there to clarify for us?

Yes, sorry, it wasn't a 'seminar'. It was a group reading with about 120 people in attendance.

The Group Reading was held just a couple of weeks ago in Holiday Inn in Secaucus N.J.

BTW, good point regarding my comment on John's hearing.
Being distracted by the conversation he has with the other side is a valid explanation on why he doesn't hear what those right in front of him say...:p

I visited your site after my response.

I think the best thing about learning of John Edward is that I can say....you HAVE a lovely daughter.

She is still there, in the present tense.

Best wishes.

Wow - so recent. I didn't know John was still doing group readings like that. Very cool :)
Thanks for clearing that up (and correcting me! :) )
