Hello all!
Thanks for all the notes and well wishes!!!
Yes the weather was extremely terrible on the way back from Saskatoon today, seen funnel clouds for the first time in my life, and got home safe and sound...The tornado did touch down about 30 miles north of where we were.
The seminar was absolutely awesome, in every sense of the word, no, I didn't get a reading, ~ a reading would have been icing for me, but I am happy with the cake!
I took notes like crazy!!!!!!
Now, whether I can make out the writing is something all together different
:hmm:
The first forty minutes or so, was JE talking about his history, how he started into this, a few stories...... spoke of his grandparents, Josephine and Tony, how Tony was a mandolin player.......
He had a bit of a problem getting through customs....hope that doesn't deter him from seeing us again :)
..............a little break then right into the readings
He went directly to the person he was to read, not "in this section here" like how I usually see it on Crossing Over......but directly to them.
He is sooo super funny in person! not like he isn't on TV, because he is, but in person....WOW!
1st reading was to the lady in the pink shirt
dad's passed ~ yes
twins / gemini ~ yes gemini
you are the significant one as in the caretaker? ~ yes
younger male that passed, date connection on the 17th .
Didn't miss a beat !!!
Then there was a woman who's relative died of cancer, (I think it was her dad-and there was something significant about the shoes......which was validated.
not sure if this was the same reading or not.......
A brain aneurysm or tumor couldn't quickly be acknowledged, but John kept nodding his head, ' yes there is'
and was his persistent self.... bigtime amnesia, but did get validated and acknowledged.....finally as the crowd moaned.
He went to one guy in the first section (to JE's left)
music.....procrastinator....problem with Revenue Canada...
all validated ....
and.....what instrument does he play you might ask, well he told John, shortly into the reading, "My name is Tony and I play the mandolin"
Goosebumps on top of goosebumps
As JE said "Freaky" if I remember it correctly.
I will have to finish this tomorrow, need to rest after such an exhausting exciting weekend..
but I will leave with a little of what happened....
One dark haired lady seated in the floor section
During question and answer time, she said,
"John..... I don't have a question, I have a thank you, as I have been watching you over the past four years and learning from what you teach, I can't thank you enough for being able to take the time away from your wife and son and coming here to see us, I would never be able to get to New York, thank you so very much!!
And the crowd applauded greatly...as I think it was a sentiment felt by every single person there, including myself!
I am guessing that there may have been about 4000 people there (?)
How big are most of his venues ....does anyone have a guess?

He had a bit of a problem getting through customs....

I wonder if customs found the sage he uses for smudging before a seminar. :laff2: That might be difficult to explain to someone unfamiliar with the process!
(((Shannon))) Thank you for posting so soon. Looking forward to hearing more. I see you've been a member for a long time and it's wonderful you were finally able to attend a seminar. :)

Thank you Shannon for posting so far. It is always great to read about the adventures of those being read.
As to the size of the venues. It depends. In Australia it was HUGE. In Minneapolis where I was it was about 1500 or so. Just depends on the size of the venue.
That was so nice of the lady to validate John and his work. I know he is always humbled by those comments. He gets them in just about every place he goes. Pretty speical person and everyone that sees him seems to realize that.
Can't wait for the rest of your post. Rest well and very glad you made it home safe. Tornadoes in Canada - amazing. Things are changing for sure.
I wonder if customs found the sage he uses for smudging before a seminar. :laff2: That might be difficult to explain to someone unfamiliar with the process!
Yeah, I would say that was a safe bet ;) :laff: ":cop2: Suuuuure, we know, pal. You light this tightly rolled bundle of herbs to remove negative energy from your surroundings with its' smoke..." rofl
Shannon, thanks for filling us in on the seminar. Sounds like John was his usual, wonderful self !

Thanks all for your responses ~
Gail, yes, I have been watching JE for about four years just like the woman in the audience who thanked him, so that was one of my "me too" moments.....it was a long time coming to be able to see him, I hope that he will head our way again, hopefully Edmonton this time, so I can take my whole family and fill in a couple rows.
There was a reading behind me to the guy with the hat, of a young man in a car accident, who was claiming responsibility for the accident, which his parents declined......
I had a good friend when I was a teenager - who always wore a baseball cap, and was in a car accident, which was his responsibility....so that was another 'me too' moment for me.
He asked the mom if she gave her son strict orders to show up tonight, to which she declined, but the sister spoke up after John said "this is like someone threatened even his afterlife that he had better show up at the seminar tonight" The daughter was laughing out loud, "it was me.... I did that."
Acknowledged David or Daniel ~ yes, Dave is passed, like pancreatic cancer~well, gangerine
Elizabeth? yes grandmother,
cat ...(JE went on to describe the cat....but not acknowledged.)
then I went to I believe it was one of these people's mom that was seated in another section and told her a few things some of which she didn't acknowledge right away but JE persisted and it was eventually caught on.
Down to the front section,
a mother figure but more like a mom than a mom ~ yes
paintbrushes ~ yes
an apology to you, that she didn't tell you she wasn't well ~ yes
June ~ yes
bringing up the hat, (she had her dad's hat in her purse)
he's bringing up the heater, the furnace, time to fix it or replace it
~yes, this was discussed three days ago
Happy February birthday~yes
Then behind her a person was read
piano or organ ~yes just starting to learn it,
who lost little girl ~ ??
something about Lena, Alena ?? mother's sister ~Rose?
younger female~yes
with the grandfather~yes
alzeimers~yes
something about crochetting ~yes
something very special buried with her~ crucifix
only if it was a very special crucifix with a very unique significance~yes
unique coin, carried, very old~ not acknowledged
James ~yes uncle
Russell~ Roman
horses for Dad ~not acknowledged
~ then the last reading of the night was where he was surprised it was the last one, he thought this one was going to come through first and they had been contacting him earlier in the day before the seminar.
Ecoli passing ~ yes
misdiagnosed ~ yes
grossly misdiagnosed, as if looking at Chrohns disease or such other ~ yes
big error on hospital's part ~ yes
(he caught it from another patient)
15th ~ yes
Australia connection ~yes
He says to go on the trip you and he were to go on ~ oh my! Fuji islands
he want's you to go, and he apologizes for not registering the car or fixing the car~ yes
something about he got to the other side and found out about the sister?
the lady responded ~ it was that his mother didn't know about the daughter (her husband's sister) dying until much after.....or perhaps she didn't know even when she died.
Megan ~ The history that John gave was, although interesting to hear live, was information I had previously read in his books or heard him speak of.
His first reading at his grandmothers house, the experience when his son was born and how he expected all of them to be there, but weren't until after his son was born....filling in who his family members were and certain experiences with them.....his Uncle Carmine....etc.
There was a question about reincarnation, which he said he believed that it exists, but merely that the entity doesn't come back in our lifetimes.
and recommended a book by Dr B Weiss (?)
Whew, I tell you it was just amazing. I may have got some of the above mixed up, (I am not the best note taker) but the general theme of it is pretty close.
My thought about the customs thing, well, it's a little difficult for just about everyone since 9-11, but also correct me if I am wrong,
is John Edward his true born name? if memory serves, isn't this a stage name or maybe I am getting confused with something else.
If so, I thought this might have something to do with customs confusion.
Glad to share my experiences with all of you

that's awesome! thanks for the notes!
yeah,i really hope he'll come to Edmonton next time.
speaking of customs, that got me thinking. now they always have to ask what the purpose of your trip is (on my april trip to florida the girl asked me 3 or 4 times in the same conversation),and i wonder what John says and what their reaction is. like many times in the past 4 years when i was going to the US to see bon jovi,i told them that's what i was doing. I get all kinds of reactions when i do that and it's kinda funny.
anyway, glad you had a good time!

Oh good! It wasn't new history or stories. Phew!
As to the name thing, he was born John Edward McGhee (sp?), but he dropped McGhee and according to his book Crossing Over he said it's officially John Edward, but how or when that happened, he has not said.
Though it's curious because I thought all you needed to get through customs from the States to Canada was a driver's license or birth certificate... hm... perhaps it was the sage...
Well either way, I'm glad he made it and that you all had such a wonderful time!!
Thank you again for sharing about your experiences.

Re: the customs problem:
I was told that John "fits the profile" that Home Land Security is using to stop and question people more fully. For example, a man travelling alone, very little luggage, in first class, usually one way, because he's going from city to city then home again, intead from city back to home. And who knows whether or not the custom's people have ever heard of him before, and if they have they might be a member of Randi's skeptic group ;)

I think Pam's theory on the customs problem is dead (pardon the pun) on. And since he had his name legally changed to John Edward, the name wouldn't be a problem. It's the same as if he were adopted and had a name change. I'm sure all his legal papers are in the name John Edward (including passports, etc.)
And for goodness' sake, if anyone is going to Canada, DO NOT rely on having a driver's license. And it's not so much about getting into Canada, it's about getting back into the US. You need proof of citizenship (non-citizens can certainly get US driver's licenses). Proof of citizenship means: birth certificate, voter registration card, or social security card, AND photo ID or a passport.
You have no idea how many US citizens spend hours and hours (and even days and days) in US lockup waiting for proof of citizenship. When I was in law school, there was a visiting law professor who pooh-poohed her secretary and work-study student (me) when we told her she had to have proof of citizenship to get back into the US. She went back and forth across the border daily (she had rented a cottage in Ft. Erie, Canada). She was a very unhappy camper when she was held for 4 hours until her boss (the Dean of the Law School) was able to go to the border and verify ... and this was BEFORE 9/11. The catch is they don't check proof of citizenship every time, but they will do random checks and they will definitely check anyone who puts on airs or gives them a hard time (this professor definitely thought she was hot stuff and probably wasn't afraid to let them know it).
I am new to this board and had the chance to see John Edward in Saskatoon too. I couldn't believe how well he captures the audience. It was so exciting to see what he does other than on TV and it made it much more personal. I have to thankfully agree with that wonderful lady who stood up in the floor section to thank John for the Saskatoon trip as I know I wouldn't be able to make it to New York as Well.
