Between my first Holistic Expo and having my first tarot reading and medium encounter...and then all this talk here, I went out tonight and bought my first deck of tarot cards and the Idiots Guide to Tarot:) So I hope to join in some time down the road to read others, but also to join in and hook up with a "reading buddy". :)
Thanks!!!
Tina
Shanti, I want to say welcome to you. Looks like you dove right in and am finding your way around here already. :)
If you did it without reading our facts and questions section, (FAQ on the banner across each page), please read it and you will be even better at getting around.

Shanti,
Glad you've been inspired! In my opinion, there is no better group of people to be inspired by than the wonderful and talented people of JeTalk. lol...
The Idiot's Guide to Tarot is definitely helping me to learn better. It's always at my side whenever doing any type of Tarot work. I find the way it works for me is by reading and rereading particular sections of the book over and over again. Whatever you do with it, its sure to be a reeally great and comphrensive resource, so thumbs up!

Another good workbook is Sandy Anastasi's Tarot workbook. You can find it at Starchild's website. What I liked is she gives you a quick version then the more detailed version. I used the quick version first so I was able to dive right in then read over the longer info .
Another helpful hint is to ask your guides to help you at night. I did this and actually ended up in an astral classrom with Sandy and three other's and we went over each card. To be honest, I didn't know them perfectly in the morning, but I was much more comfortable with meanings and started to be able to see stories easier.
I also laminated an index card as a "cheat sheet", of the Celtic Cross.
Just a few helpful hints to get you on your way....most of all relax, protect and have fun !
