It's time to start a Blizzard of bucks for our webmistress, Pam Blizzard. Tink started a similar thread last year and it helped tremendously. We love our site uncluttered with ads or pop-ups. We love that we have pictures, videos and audio. As you might imagine, these features run up the cost of hosting.
So it is time to CAV Pam with a tangible gift from those of us who can afford donate. Any size donation will be appreciated. Let's do our part to show our appreciation to our Hostess and our fantastic moderators.
All snowflakes help b/c put all together they make a BLIZZARD! Let the Blizzard begin! :jumper:

Count in my snowflake!
To make it easier to remember, I've added Friends Communities to my on-line check ledger and making contributions quarterly, so I can budget this great site right into the rest of my hectic life!
(From someone who knows a thing or two about blizzards :laff2: !)

Quarterly snowflakes, huh? Do you have to hit the button fast in July so it doesn't melt before Pam gets it! rofl

That's a great idea to remember to support our favorite gathering place! Thanks - all snowflakes welcome!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow for our Blizzard of Bucks for johnedwardtalk.org! This is one blizzard we don't have to shovel! :lwink:

Just to let you know - the Blizzard of bucks isn't quite a blizzard yet! If you can we'd love to have you throw a few snowflakes or a snowball Pam's way!
Peace

Starlasue, thank you so much for your enthusiasm, and for helping in this way (it's very hard for me to ask for help) And thank you everyone who has donated so far, be it with your donations, the moderators who dontate their time to keep an angelic watchful eye on the place, or donated with your positive energy. I love you all

starlasue -
As I was driving home from school Friday, two things came to mind...
One, that it has been, it seems, eons since I've had time to visit here and post. Our school has several new initiatives this year which have kept me hopping - going in to school by 6:30 AM and not leaving until well after 5 PM.
The next thought that came to mind was that the time was drawing near for another "(Pam) Blizzard of Bucks". Lo and behold... here is the thread, started by you!! Were you riding in my car with me and reading my mind?
Anyhow - YES, let's get that blizzard going - and not just one in which Pam will need a good-sized snowblower... I'm talking about a mega-sized snowplow!!!
My donation is in!!

I really can't thank all of you angels enough. I have been a bit worried about the direction to take with the financing of this site.
I will have to come up a special way of honoring you folks that have helped out with the rent, light bill, and popcorn costs to keep this site up and running ;) Bless all of you, special angels

Glad to help you out on this!
How about some simple math???
6,410 members... one "snowflake" each = BLIZZARD OF BUCKS!!!
tinkster :-)
You know, that's so true.
Sometimes people think that if they can only afford to give a dollar or two, they aren't helping, but they all add up, don't they?
p.s. Hey, tinkster!! Good to see you back again! Seems like teachers' work (like Mom's) is never done, either! You go to work, then you bring work home with you! ;) Bless you all, for you certainly have a hand in raising all our children -- our future.
2 big

I'm ba-a-a-a-ck!!
 Hello, dear friends!
It's been so long since I've posted that I couldn't even decide where to post! I decided to do so here... for one big reason... to "bump" this thread in the hope that it might help a few more "snowflakes" fall for Pam!!!
That said, here's some of what has gone on with me during my "absence". First of all, WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? I am amazed at (and somewhat ashamed of) how long it has been since I've visited here. In the seeming wink of an eye, days, weeks, and months have passed, filled to the brim with the minutia of day-to-day responsibilities and tasks. Though I have not "physically" visited here, hardly a day goes by without my wondering about what's going on here and thinking about all my special JEFriends!
Teaching has been the one constant - fulfilling my responsibility to my students this year has been pretty much the most time-consuming of my issues. One would think that after 18 years it would get easier, but that has not proven to be the case, especially this year. There seems to be a "bumper crop" of student (and worse, parent) apathy, absence of drive for excellence, and lack of respect (for self and others). It is discouraging and, in some ways, frightening.
Health-wise... I've been plagued with left shoulder rotator cuff damage/inflammation. Physical therapy and cortisone injections offer only temporary relief. I'm bearing with it, and hoping that surgery will NOT be required!
Family-wise... a new grandson, Daniel Alexander, arrived on November 5th!! That makes four for hubby and me!
Friend-wise... I was able to spend a wonderful day with Qtncrazy (Chris) on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. She was in NH for the holiday and we met up for some serious "retail therapy"!
CAV-wise... to all of you here, who shower warmth, love, and kindness upon everyone... I send you wishes for a new year that is happy, healthy, and prosperous, and filled with all the wonderfulness that each of you so thoroughly deserves.
God bless!!
tinkster :-)
Well, hello, tinkster --we've missed you!
Congratulations on the birth of little Daniel Alexander! :baby:
Prayers going up for you and your shoulder. Hope you will see some improvement and not require surgery, at least not anytime in the near future! :musicnote :musicnote
Welcome back. We hope to see more of you over the holidays! :)
