I haven't logged in for a couple of weeks because my family has been moving from a small place into a larger one
I am going to see John in San Diego this afternoon! This will be my third time and I am so happy to be seeing him again. I miss Crossing Over and it will be wonderful to again see John work. I would, of course, love to be read, buy my primary goal is to learn, to be inspired, and to be in good company.
(A side note - unlike previous times, the venue isn't sold out. I wonder if the fact that COWJE isn't on the air has affected ticket sales. I hope this won't prevent John from again coming to San Diego.)
I will write about the seminar - probably tomorrow.

Hi
My sister is in the air right now going from SF to San Diego to see John. She couldn't get tickets for SF so that is why she is flying to San Diego.
I hope to hear your account of what happens and then my sister's account. If I can, I will post her account here.
My sister is going to see him in January in SF at the gallery type seminar. Lucky her. I am in Florida and so far, nothing like that is scheduled here.
Cynthia
Gay, congrats on your move and have a wonderful time at the seminar!
I'd have to say that I do feel the cancellation of CO could be affecting ticket sales. Remember when the seminars would be announced during the commercial breaks?
I've known people in at least 2 cities that didn't even know a seminar was scheduled until I told them. Unless people check here, or JE's official site, or regularly peruse Ticketmaster, they probably don't find out.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of advertising. :(
Anyway, have fun and tell us all about it when you return!

I was thinking that because CO isn't in the air anymore the seminars may start to get smaller, and they probably will eventually, but in SF it seemed by applause that there were many more first-timers than repeaters, and only a couple of "don't know why you're here...dragged by wife..." guys.
...in SF it seemed by applause that there were many more first-timers than repeaters...
Wow, that's good news!! :)

It was wonderful to see John again! He commented on Crossing Over and how Universal Studios didn't think anyone had been watching the show. Everyone laughed.
John spent about one hour of the seminar on teaching and answering questions. Unlike the previous two, he only did about five readings - although one of them bounced around to include three more people. Three of the readings were long. I will post more details tomorrow.
An interesting thing occurred. John scolded, and was sarcastic with one man who received one of the long readings. While, I've heard John be firm with people, he referred to this man as stupid, because he had had two surgeries and was still smoking. John made sure this man understood that it was his loved ones who were giving him the message, but a little of John was there also - giving this man a hard time for not taking care of himself.
I took my two daughters, my oldest daughter's boyfriend, and a dear friend with whom I've wanted to share the experience. John was kind, informative, thoughtful and very funny. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.
I so much want to go the the Culver City Gallery-type seminar, but I may not have the $175.00 ticket price in time, before all tickets are sold. It would be so worth it to spend time with John in a smaller setting with fewer people.
I will write more tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

Okay. Here it is better late than never!!
As I said in my previous post, I went with my two daughters, one of their boyfriends and a dear friend. Our seats weren’t the best, but we had a good view of the stage. One of the people sitting next to my daughter, Angela, asked about where to get more information, and I gave them this web site.
Reading #1: John asked if anyone in a certain section of the audience had once lived in Long Island. A woman replied that she had once lived there and when John asked about relatives still there, she said that her Mom, Aunt, sister-in-law and her Dad were there. A young male, Thomas, was coming through and was talking about a person in uniform and about someone with lung cancer (the Aunt). The sitter was told that she needed to focus on banking and finance since something in that area of her life was not going well. She was told that she had been married two times and that the first husband had been abusive; and that she had tolerated it too long. To try to get over her “bruises” she had become abusive. But now she felt empowered and this helped her to turn this experience in her life around. John brought up a shooting – her cousin died from a shooting.
Reading #2: John was looking for someone with a connection to Hanna-Barbara, the cartoon organization. He looked for several minutes and found a woman who had a remote connection. This was an older male figure, which was her Uncle Andy who had died of pneumonia. He was rocking a baby. An older female – the sitter’s grandmother was also there. The grandmother said that someone was pregnant, and the sitter replied, “Theresa’s pretty fertile,” which brought great laughter and which brought teasing from John about this announcement. John then talked to the sitter’s mother who was there and told her that the older female (her mother) was showing pink roses. John then went back to the daughter and told her that she was in an emotional and mental prison and was feeling a great deal of sadness and that she needed to realize that what she was putting out had everything to do with what she was pulling into her life. The reading moved to more family members, but my notes here aren’t as clear, except that John brought up the name “Rene” which was the name of four of the sitter’s family members.
Reading #3: A brother and son were coming through for a male sitter; the month of August was connected; young son who crossed over had a birthday on August 28th. There was a connection to rawhide; someone talked a son over to the other side like an air traffic controller. The brother who had crossed over was immature, and the young son felt older to John. The sitter’s Dad was also there. He was a man who did not express his emotions easily. Dad brought a hammer incident, which the sitter identified as an accident, where he hit his brother with a golf club. John asked who was going to the Caribbean and the sitter replied that he and his family were going. Another message came through that the sitter’s mother had recently had heart surgery and then another young energy – a cousin - was also coming through.
This is pretty long. So I will stop for now and report on the next readings either later tonight or tomorrow.

Wow! I was there, too! And, I took two friends from San Diego that had "heard" of John, but never seen COWJE or read any of his books. THEY were amazed at him (and how down to earth and funny he is) and by the readings. They're converts now :-))) (I flew in from Seattle so I could take my friends).
I SO wanted to ask John a question...at least before I went in to the venue. Boy, was I shocked when my question was pretty much answered at the door!!!
I wanted to ask him how he balances his strong belief in Catholocism and his work. Well, on the flyer we were all handed is the announcement of John's new book, "Practical Praying: Using the Rosary to Enhance Your Life." I was sort of dumb struck before I even got to my seat!!!
For all of you that were there...do you think John will EVER stopped getting teased about asking someone if their relative was "back west?" lolol John then said "did I just say 'back west?' Lots of laughter. Then he went on to say, that's not as bad as the time I told a lady her dog was having kittens...and someone in the front row said to him (in a joking way), "John, don't you know dogs have puppies?" He also said Carol doesn't let him forget any of his faux pas! ;-)))))
John's new book may be mentioned somewhere else on this list. If so, I apologize. Just got back from my trip and haven't had time to get through the new posts.
Pam, how good are the chances of our getting to order his new book through this site????
RudysMom
PS: Did you notice there's been a second "Gallery-Like" session added in San Fran on Thursday, Jan 20th???

Just remembered the cute story John told about Justin using his psychic abilities already. Has anyone told this story already? I not, I'll try to reconstruct it. The punchline is (from Sandra to John) "See, he IS better than you!"

I am so sorry that I never got back to completing my post. I have been ill and am trying to recover from a bad case of bronchitis. I went to work last week even though I shouldn't have. I spent the weekend trying to rest, but I still have a very bad cough. Just two more days of school, then I have five days off. Hopefully, I'll recover during that time and finish my report. I can also relate the story that RudysMom was talking about. Just give me a few more days and I'll get back to all of you.
