Okay, these things were in my dream last night. Next to each one, I wrote my own interpretation. Let's see how I did :)

cell phone (with broken antenna) : communication

broken antenna: lack of/broken communication

Switzerland: foreign place

German (language): foreign/different language; communicating in a different way, not on same level/frame of mind as other person

heavy foot: (right foot)...I could barely lift it in my dream...hindered the ability to get where I was going, I felt exhausted trying to get where I wanted.

sidewalk sale (very cluttered); maybe my mind (or life) is cluttered, and I'm having trouble sorting through things

HUGE car:...transportation; couldn't see where I was going; wasn't comfortable; need to get back into something where I can see things clearly

pencil: communication (there were dinosaur stickers on it)

dinosaurs: prehistoric, old; maybe I am holding onto old feelings, or have outdated ways of thinking

stickers: things that can be removed; maybe these old feelings are things I'm stuck on, but one by one I can "peel" them away

running: escaping, rushing (I was running TO the car) Maybe I'm anxious to get back on track and see things clearly

"late" (for appointments)...maybe I'm behind in my everyday life schedule, and need to get back on track

I felt exhausted this morning, and DID NOT want to get out of bed...my summary of my dream is that I am uncomfortable in the way I am communicating with..you probably figured it out..my husband. Sometimes there is "lack of", and sometimes it is just miscommunication. Because of this, I feel overwhelmed at times. I am holding on to a lot of old hurt, and am anxious to get past this. I want to get back on track...let go of what is in the past and move forward...preferably without my lead foot (grudges??) that are weighing me down.

How did I do, Pam? I will post the dictionary meanings in another post.

Blessings,
Sabine

Hey, I can't tell you how you did - it sounds like you know that you did well, because you certainly understood it and could apply it to something meaningful, and something needing work in your waking life. That's what dreams are - messages from your subconcsious about things that need work or development.

Just a few thoughts -- and again, this is an outside observation, so take it with a grain of salt. I like how you picked up on the communication symbols. The dinosaur stickers on the pencil, struck me immediatly as "childish communication" or an immature way to communicate.

Cars or vehicles are usually seen as either your physical body, or to represent way you move through life. It can also mean your car, if you're dealing with car issues!

I was pretty amazed at the similarities between my interpretations and the ones in the dictionary. You're right about the dinosaur stickers...we are very immature in the way we communicate...we fight like kids...something we both need to work on :D

So in this case, maybe instead of breaking down all the symbols of the pencil, it was meant to be taken as one cohesive, descriptive symbol. Interesting....

Here are the dictionary's meanings to my dream from last week:

cell phone: preparedness/efficiency

telephone: communication

antenna: need for clarity of thoughts/ideas (mine was broken)

Switzerland (foreign country)...means something different to each dreamer

foreign language:
"foreign"...connotes new and different ideas
"language"..reveals clues to correct interpretation along with the tone of
voice/mood

heavy foot: (foot dragging) warns against a reluctance to continue along one's life path; a possible inner fear causing this

sidewalk: relates to "directed" paths to follow; implies a need to make one's own course

car: illustrates quality of physical condition. This most often refers to one's personal physiological system

pencil: represents an "intention" that may or may not manifest

dinosaur: exemplifies outdated concepts; primitive thoughts

stickers: represents personal message for the dreamer depending on what it symbolized or said

running: reveals an attempt to escape or catch up, depending on the details

late: represents a time expectation that is not met

I thought all of these meanings were pretty close to the interpretation I did. I am so glad that I interpreted the dream myself first, because it gave me confidence that I can do that, rather than heading straight for my dictionary. Dreams are fascinating....
