 I really liked A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE by Rick Warren. I think he's a Baptist minister. I'm Catholic. Interestingly, I found his views very similiar to my Church. Here's the link to the web site for those interested in checking it out. Purpose Driven Life (http://www.purposedrivenlife.com/) I found there was a lot of wisdom in it. It has been on the best seller list for awhile.

The book consists of forty short chapters. He suggests the reader is to absorb one chapter before reading the next. The purpose of life is to worship God and to love our neighbor as ourselves. He discusses why this is important to our spiritual growth. Although Warren doesn't mention JE, his ideas are similiar to JE's VAC.....validate, appreciate and communicate. (I like to think if you don't VAC, you end up with a vaccum).

It is a nice book. Just thought I'd share. : )

It does sound like a nice book. I looked through the site and have a feeling that the people there, no matter how nice they are, would be strongly against anyone believing in what John Edward does.

I could be wrong but I would be very cautious discussing mediumship with an evangelistic christian.

I am also Catholic.

Maybe it's a situation where you can "take what you need and leave the rest". I find the ability to be open to this kind of thinking leads me to very interesting places :)

Oh, I'm not interested in discussing mediumship with them. I certainly wouldn't bring up the subject. However, I would answer if they brought it up.

I just think Warren's thoughts on keeping one's life simple, honoring God, and serving others is in tune with JE's philosophy which is the philosophy of most religions. Just gives some food for thought.
