It was a good episode, but does anyone else think that they're getting a little too dark? I found the one about the woman being sexually assaulted by the cop, difficult to watch; and last night's started out pretty disturbing. I'm just curious about other's opinions.

In the beginning I thought it was a bit graphic but I thought as a whole it was a good episode. I liked how Allison's father-in-law kept coming to her. I thought a powerful line was when Allison says to Joe,
"It's not about the messenger, it's about the message." When I heard that I'm thinking wow that's something JE would say hehe :lwink:

I saw bits and pieces of the episode because they were showing it at the bar I was at last night. There were only six of us in the bar at the time, so I caught alot of dialogue. That quote about the messenger almost made me fall out of my bar chair...(and I didn't even have a drink yet.) It's almost the same quote that came out of Patricia's character in Stigmata. Just as long as people get the message, the messenger is not important.

I agree. I thought it was a good episode overall too. And that line was powerful.

I think, too, that the nature of the work Allison does will lend itself to darker material than if she didn't do "police work."

I did find last night's episode (and the one with the girl and the cop) very disturbing. I felt physically ill watching it. Especially since there was just a case in FL last month where the victim suffered a similiar fate.
But when I thought about it, given the nature of what is being portrayed, it should be disturbing. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be human, would we? But other than those scenes, I really do enjoy the show.

I know you're right about the nature of the material being disturbing. I guess I would just rather they didn't show some of it so graphically.

I know I'm a wimp. I'm one of the only people I know who would rather watch some of the current movies after they've been edited for TV. :baby:

Thanks.

Yes, murder is a dark subject, and the writers don't sugar coat it. Being so graphic, it does demonstrate that mediumship has other uses besides consolling a greiving family member.

I thought the first episode was much more graphic as the criminal spoke about how he would use the knife on Alison - he was very descriptive. I think Monday's show was harder, because the victim was a child.

I agree with you , megray. I have found that I cannot watch "Medium" because it is too graphic and violent. I get impacted by the negative energy and it's not worth it so I shut the TV off. This happens with a lot of what is on TV and not just this show. I am happy about the show's success but I'm just too sensitive to the content.
