Pam has asked me to start a thread here to try to help and answer questions you may have. What I can and cannot do for you if fairly basic.
I know a great deal about many different Native American cultures since I am Lenape and do a great deal of research for my books to make them as realistic as I can.
I am not a medicine man, but do some healing when the conditions are right, my knowledge of native herbs and medicines is fairly limited, but I have resources to try to find what you may ask.
I cannot discuss our prayers with you. Our prayers are meant for the Creator only and writing them down is not done. They are very private.
I do have the ability to see the other side so to speak in that I do talk with my father that has crossed over about seven years ago. I am a bit unused to speaking about it outside the family but will help how I can.
My Spirit Guide is a man I call Red Hair and he has been with me for forty years. He only speaks to me in Lenape, which I do not speak, but am learning, and is sometimes accompanied by his son who speaks English. The son tells me that his father is telling me I do not understand because I listen with my mind not my heart. Still working that issue. Making small amounts of headway now that I am learning Lenape.
I had one period of almost ten years where I heard nothing from my spirit guide or my totem spirit. Now that I am back at embracing my native heritage, I see them more often. It is not unusual for me to go a year or more with no visits but they always come when I need them.
I do not use medicinal herbs to help talk to my guide. Some tribes and Native religions use them, I do not and cannot tell you much about the whys and whatfores of the herbs.
I am still a student, and will be even after I cross over I am sure. What I do not learn here, I will learn there and my lack of knowledge does not bother me. Except of course when I want to write about something and then I research the heck out of it.
So that being said, I am here to help in any way I can. At least now you know what I have no clue about and what I will not discuss.
Wanishi (thank you) for inviting me.
