I've been feeling bad because I'm leaving my little four pound Yookie Poo, Gizmo, alone in the house tomorrow for over 12 hours. I'm going on a field trip with my grandson. Gizmo is 15 years old, pretty much blind and deaf, and doesn't do well in places he's not familiar with. He has a small doggy door where he can go outside any time he wants or needs to.

I was gathering trash this morning and walking into the kitchen. My nose told me "someone" had done something in the house he shouldn't do. He did his little pile on the floor and it was easy to clean up. No good yelling at him because he can't hear and doesn't care.

I walked toward the kitchen sink and stepped into something soft on the rug near there. It got on one shoe and I managed to take a few more steps before realizing it. Yuck! While turning around and reaching down to remove the shoe, I backed into another pile with my other shoe by accident. Double yuck!! Gizmo is standing near me, oblivious to it all.

Have you ever tried getting doggy poop off the bottom of your shoes? It manages to get cemented into every crack and crevice of the shoe. :(

The two kitchen rugs are in the washing machine and I think everything else is cleaned up. Gizmo is walking around with a smug expression on his little face and he must weigh a lot less right now.

He already has his revenge on me before he's left alone. :)

Gail, I feel your pain!! As you know, I'm going through the same thing with my 14 year old :meow:

Pets are very "sensitive" and pick up on everything! Gizmo probably knows that he's going to be alone tomorrow and is already rebelling at having his territory invaded by a 6 year old boy!!

Watch out -- it could get worse!

Poor little guy. I bet he thought he was outside. Take a flashlight with you so that when you come home tonight you can see exactly where to step.

Have a great time with your grandson. We had our grandson for a few days this week and went to a movie. It was fun being with him.

Lol, Gail...I know what you mean. We have two cats and a dog. The dog's only 4 years old, but we've had our share of "messes" to clean up after him. As a puppy, he ate an entire WALL full of drywall because he was angry at being left alone during the day (it's a miracle he didn't get very sick from it.) Now that he's grown, he has his "special" places that he likes to use if he gets sick or can't make it outside in time (this happens very rarely during the night). Unfortunately for us, those places are in the middle of the dining room carpet, and on our carpeted stairs!!! (If only he'd use the hard floor:rolleyes: )

Have fun on your field trip:wave: Sounds like Gizmo's used up all his "ammo" already, so you probably don't have to worry about any more surprises:lwink:

I'll bet that everyone who has a dog can relate to that! At least it wasn't in the middle of the night with bare feet as you are going to the bathroom.... it is NOT a pretty feeling either! ~ eewwwwwwww
