John Edward Theme (http://208.155.74.11/previewa.phtml?DesktopThemes+++18993)
There you are, and yes the sounds are included. I am working on a different version, I never cared for the background image on this one. I just inserted one of the Sci Fi pics on my desktop with this theme...

Sound familiar? Well I got the download and got the sounds. Then I found out where the download went. And I retrieved that. Then I hit the button that said OPEN. And this is what I got for my troubles..I HATE computers! The only good computer is the one that grows wings and flies out my window..no..wait..then I won't have internet..I guess I have a love/hate relationship with it  Any way this is the message I got:
"The theme could not load because one of the needed theme files could not be found. (What did it just get up and walk away??) This can happen with themes that are not installed correctly (where did I go wrong..I hit NEXT with everything..except for FINISH at the end!) or authored correctly( what does that mean). You should verify that the wallpaper, screensaver, icons, sounds, and other files are in the correct location. (How do I do that??)
Oh yeah and IF I can get this working how do you link the sounds up to your mail and error messages and all that fun stuff?? Somebody please help!

If anyone is interested this and the next two posts have links to JE desktop themes. Also attached is a jpg thumbnail of the wallpaper to view before you download. Download Crossing Over Gallery (http://files.themesunlimited.com/files/d/Crossing%20Over%20Gallery-39571.exe). Open the attachment below to view the wallpaper of this theme, then if you would like to download the theme, click on the link above. It is a self installing theme created with desktop architect.

What are you running? 95 or 98 or what? There is a free program available at http://www.desktoparchitect.com you can use it to install the theme properly. Just click on D.A. and it will ask you what theme you would like to install. Direct it to the Theme package.
That should do everything for you, including putting the sounds in. You can also use D.A. to adjust and rearrange every element. It's very handy for taking this from one theme and applying it to another theme.

Tanner and Loki,
Go to this URL for help :)
Install Help (http://www.screensandthemes.com/installing.asp)
Sorry, I cannot email the theme or sound bytes as they are too big to be attachments. This is why I submitted them to Screens and Themes and EZ skins.
I have no clue about XP, but will search for help for that OS.

Just wanted to let Pam know that several of the sound files came through without file extensions. I don't know if this is because of the length of the name or what. I just shortened the name and added the .wav to them. Works fine. Otherwise you get a word pad document that is horrible. However I did this on a mac and don't know if you can get the same results with a pc or not. macs are not as picky about extensions however they would not open without it. Go figure.
Second is for Loki, windows XP is very new and there are many things don't work with it particailly because of the lack of support from other manufacturers who have not come out with drivers for this new operating system. It sounds like that link might be a good place to start. I wanted to upgrade to XP but found that my modem doesn't work with this system and went to Windows Millenium instead which is a little more stable. I would much prefer my modem work than have the newest operating system any day. Good luck and hope you get things to work.

I made a different wallpaper, zipped it and placed it in my files. Here is a link to the zip file.
CO Wallpaper.zip (http://psyquestor.homestead.com/files/CO_Wallpaper.zip)
You will need two things to access this 1. Win Zip or similar 2. A desktop theme 'architect'. If you are running Win98 you can insert this as a theme by doing the following...
My Computer
Control Panel
Display
This will show you an options box where you can select your background, screen saver, and icons.

Well I'm about ready to give up and write this off as a learning experience to not buy a new computer! All I really wanted was the sound effects. I am perfectly happy with my desktop and screensaver (they are beautiful pictures of mountain lions, my animal totem). Oh well. I have the sounds downloaded but no way to install them so they are linked to everything. Last time I listen to sister of mine when she says "buy this one..XP is really good!" A lot of good it's doing me now! I'll learn soon enough! Thanks anyway, it was a cool idea!

The sound files can be downloaded from:
http://www.johnedwardfriends.org/images/sounds/jesounds.zip
They'll be there for a limited time, so if you want them, please get them soon!

Uh hi guys..Loki stupid..sorry I found this thing on my computer called the Control Panel? Well I found out what it does too. The theme still won't download but the sounds did and I manually put them in the places I wanted them. So uh all that work that I could have avoided in downloading and re-downloading I could have avoided. Anyway..I'm all set now and thanks for the help. I guess I'll keep this thing after all. :lwink: And I found out how to do the smilies! Thanks to whoever mentioned that! Woohoooo I have JE sounds!:jumper: Bye all you computer gurus!

This took me awhile to figure out too. I have XP, I don't know what you're running. I went to the Start menu at the bottom of the screen. And then Control Panel (ignore the warnings..that's what set me back) Then there was a choice on the next screen and I went to Audio, Sounds, Settings. I pulled up Sounds from the next menu and a list of things that had computer sounds came up. Then I went to Browse and pulled up jesounds and started putting the jesounds in place of the sounds the computer had. That was for XP..but if you can find the Control Panel then that is half the battle right there! Good luck hunting!

Too cool! I had a lot of these sounds, but not all of them - THANKS!!
I see there's a crossing over 2 wav - is there a #1 somewhere I'm missing? Thanks :)
No Diva, I compressed the original, much larger files and named some of the new ones with the same name, but added a "2" at the end so I could easily pick out the compressed files. Sorry! :)

If you are running Win 98 you can get to Display Properties very quickly by doing the following: Right click anywhere on your current Wallpaper, go to properties, and the Display Properties box pops up. You can change the background ( wallpaper ), screen saver, Themes, Effects, Web (veiw as a webpage) and the Settings (color, size, orientation etc).
This sure beats: My Computer, Control Panel, Display...

Oh I see Pam! :) Cool, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything :)
My computer is possessed, I think. It'll be the middle of the night, Jason will get up & walk by the computer & all of a sudden John will yell "all right, I'm starting to get annoyed" and the next thing you know, I have to pull Jason off the ceiling. :D :D
