About a month ago, three of us ladies took my niece out for a birthday lunch at a very nice, rather upscale, Italian restaurant. It was midday on a Tuesday.

When we walked in, there was a long table, filled with "red hats", having a luncheon, and having a ball! The laughter and conversation was flowing even more than the wine! ;)

A couple of us looked at each other and said, "Well, I guess that'll be us in a few years!" They were having a grand time, and they were dressed to kill! :love: Hey, I guess it could be worse, right? :D

It must have been around Valentines Day, right? Because the Friday before Valentines Day my husband and I went to lunch, and there was also a long table of "red hats", and they had balloons, and little gift bags and they were just having a great time. I just adored all of their red hats! I can't wait to be a Red Hat Lady. Only 3 years to go!!!!

I look so much better in Lavender, but you have to be younger to qualify for that color.

Since I'm in such denial anyway, I can't imagine joining the Red Hat Society!
Not that I don't think they're cute, but even as a child, I just was never a joiner of groups. (Of course, look where I'm posting. ;) )

My mom says you never feel your age when you get older, and it's true, isn't it?

Besides, aren't the 50's today the new 40's?

Men measure themselves in inches, and we women do it in years. I don't know which is dumber.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! I did not see the posts until this morning, because my daughter just had a new baby and I've been otherwise occupied. I now have four grandsons! I spent my birthday taking care of the new baby, because Gina had to have a C-section and there were some complications. She is fine now and home with him and her other two sons. It was a great way to spend the day. He was born March 13, one day ahead of my birthday - we were hoping the birth would occur on the 14th. But the full moon must have played a part - because he is actually two weeks early. He weighed 7 lbs. and was 19.5 inches - it is a good thing he was early!
