I wanted to share with all of you my wonderful experience at the seminar in Dallas this past Saturday.

I bought the tickets around Christmas time along with my Mom, Grandma, and sister. My sister and Grandma flew in from CA. for the event. I must admit we had high hopes going into it because April the 8th marks the 1 year anniversary of the day my grandfather crossed over. (How cool is it that I have an 80 year old grandma open to all of this!

Five years ago our lives turned upside down when we lost my beloved younger brother unexpectedly. A family friend suggested I check out John Edward and watch CO. I am so grateful she did. It truly was a turning point for me.

Over the past 5 years I have attended 7 JE events and -are you ready for this- I have been read 4 times! Our family also won a private reading from a local radio station! I KNOW how blessed we are to have had such wonderful readings. I will never take that for granted. I really do go to his events of course hopeful, but really thinking what are the odds because we have already been read so many times by John. I always say a little prayer to my loved ones to please come through if you can, but if someone else needs it more that's okay with me.

The seminar Saturday was wonderful, but different than any others I've been to. John was great and funny as usual but I have to tell you I think it was a frustrating night for him. I am afraid my family had alot to do with that!:hmm: John did something I have never seen him do before at a seminar- he took a break when he was done with our reading!:hmm:

Here is how it unfolded, more or less...........

John said he was feeling a pull to a lady on the floor back row (we were in the second row of the balcony)

He said he had a strong female coming through named Maria. He also said he was getting the name Gloria (she could not validate) that's my grandma's name.

He was getting the number 8- my grandma's birthday is in Aug.

He said he was getting a male in the military who wore three different uniforms (again no validation) My grandfather wore exactly three different uniforms in the military.

He said the male had Alzheimer's (not for her) This is how my grandfather died.

Well at this point my mom and grandma are waving there arms saying over here- it's for us. I was quietly trying to remind them not to be a relative stealer!

Then John said he had a male with a glass eye (not for lady) My grandma's father had a glass eye.

He then said the name Mildred (did not make sense to lady on the floor)

Well at that point my mom and grandma went nuts waving and saying over here it's us! My sister and I were asking who is Mildred?? Come to find out that is my grandma's real name- Mildred Gloria! It only took me 37 years to learn that!!

At that point John said, " I see you waving over there, but I am not feeling the pull to you and I have to stay with that." My mom went on to tell him how everything he said made perfect sense to our family.

John wasn't backing down- he was sticking with his pull. He said if it is meant for you they will give me something to validate it.

He then turned back to the lady on the floor and said, " Who is Dan?"

Well, that was it!! That is my brother's name!! You can just imagine how crazy my mom went! She yelled out "That's my son!"

At that point John kind of through his hands up in the air as if to say he gives up! He seemed really baffled. He tried to find a connection with us and the other family, but there really wasn't one that we could see.

After that he went on to give us some 'right on the money' stuff! I have two pages of wonderful validations!

We know for certain that my gradfather and brother came throughto us that night. It was amazing for us, but I think really hard on John. They really gave him a workout!

At the end of the night he said something to the effect that tonight is a good example of how things don't always go as I think they are going. It reminds us who is really in charge!

After the seminar my mom asked why I was trying to sush her so much at first. I guess I was a little embarassed and afraid everyone there would think we were "relative stealers". When am I going to learn mother really does know best!

Oh yeah one more thing- my sister got to ask a question at the beginning. She asked John if he liked the format of his new show or the format of CO better. His answer surprised me. He said he really like CO better. He said he feels his teachings are evolving and this new show, with the focus being on the follow ups with the families,is what he is supposed to be doing at this time. He said he liked CO because he was able to show more readings.

He took questions for 1 1/2 hrs. before he got into readings. That was more than I have seen him do in the past.

It really was a great night- one I will never forget!

Congratulations, juie! It certainly looks like those who are meant to get a reading will get one, especially when those on the other side are so determined! ;)

Hey Julie! I'm so happy that your mom was with you when you got your reading. I remember reading your other experiences of her leaving the seminar upset that your brother didn't come through. I can just imagine how she felt then, and how she must feel now. The Other Side can be insistant!! Kudos to your brother for making sure he was heard!!!

I'm going to post this here, because I sent you a number of emails and didn't hear back from you. Your email address must have changed. Please don't forget to provide your feedback on the reading our members provided you back in November of 2004. Even though some time has passed, your feedback is valuable to those that took the time to read you. I know that life is busy and we don't always have time to sit at the computer, but that is the agreement we all made when we agreed to provide readings for each other. You can see that reading here: http://www.friendscommunities.org/showthread.php?t=12059 so if you could provide some feedback, we'd all appreciate it.

Also, can we get clarification on what JE said about the tv shows? Did you mean to type CO, meaning that John prefers the format of Crossing Over? I would have guessed that he actually said "Cross Country" based on other interviews that he's done lately.

Thanks Julie!!

Pam- thank you for your kind words about our reading. It was great and I was very glad my mom decided to go!

I am so sorry I never replied to bdwsa's reading. I don't know how I missed it!
I just sent her a reply- a little late now! I did however reply to Starlasue at the time.

As far as John's answer to my sister's question, he did say Crossing Over. I certainly don't want to be the spokesman for John, but that is what he said. I too was surprised with his answer. He said he is very proud of his new show and feels it is what he is supposed to be doing right now. He said however he liked being able to show more readings like he did on CO. He also said the follow ups on CO were always very popular so it makes perfect sense to have that be a main focus on the new show.

I personally love the new show and will take John and his work on tv anyway we can get it!

Julie~

That is so wonderful that you and Allison had a reading with your Mom and Grandmother there! It must have been an amazing evening for you all!

My husband Don and I are going to see John in Albany, on the 27th of this month. The shocker is it was his idea. I'm sure we will have a great time, but it is hard to live up to our first visit to Long Island when Doreen and I met you and Allison and all the other wonderful ladies.

Again, congratulations and have a wonderful Easter with your family.

Julie,

I was also at that seminar in Dallas and I couldn't believe the energy in that room that evening. We went to see John on a lark and I was totally amazed. I also had an experience before the show in which I later wrote to him about.

As a result of that letter we ended up meeting with him in San Antonio at one of his other shows where he spoke with us for over two hours after the show. He is such an amazing person. He was one of the most gracious humble compationate people I have ever met.

We did not get read but I had the wonderful opportunity to ask him questions and we did get a small validation but what we gained from that experience was truly life changing! Through John he helped my find faith and discovery a true spiritual awakening.

I am so happy that you were able to hear from your family and it is so nice to know that there are other people out there that do not think I have gone completly nuts!
