View Full Version : This is TOTALLY blowing my mind...Please look at this!
(Edited to add, before this post and picture will have true meaning you need to read my reading with John Holland from 10/13/06 at this link. ) (http://friendscommunities.org/showthread.php?t=15036)
When my Mom passed on March 6, 2006, my sister took care of all the details, including clearing out my Mom's room at the nursing home. She gave my mom's clothes to Good Will and brought the family pictures, my mom's glasses and our children's drawings in a box and brought them back to me. I put them in a corner in my bedroom, and haven't touched the box since March, when Mom passed. I just wasn't dealing with it.
Tonight, I was in my bedroom re-reading JH's book "Born Knowing". I got the "Quickening Chapter" where he describes his very first mediumship experience.
Near the end of the chapter I put the book down and decided to finally look in the box of my mom's things. Maybe I'd find the Ritz crackers, hehehe I think to myself. What I found was even more amazing.
What I thought was a silk flower arrangment in the box was a REAL LIVE PLANT . I looked at the dried up flowers laying on the crusty, dry dirt, and the obvious white dust laying on the glass planter from the last 7 months.
I did it! I really did kill HER plant! John Holland was more accurate than I thought he was!!! When my sister gave me the box, I had no idea it was a live plant, I honestly thought it was fake! My jaw dropped.
But that was NOTHING. Upon further investigation, my heart stopped. Look at this picture.....there is new growth -- a new sprout coming out of a dead plant, that hasn't been watered in 7 months, that has not seen sunlight in the corner of my bedroom!!!! The new sprout can only be a few days old! How can this be???? DOUBLE WHAMMY..... Please help me explain this, as I am in total shock right now....

It appears to be an African Violet, mumandtwins. :D
It is so awesome that it is trying to grow now. What a blessing for Pam that she had this validation.

 :D So now you're BEYOND Knowing....HA HA!!
Amazing ain't it?? Your mom is right there with you when you were probably feeling at your lowest to show you - hey there's new growth!!
How totally awesome that she could joke with you then give you such a beautiful AFTER validation!!

Are you sure it's an African Violet? It almost looked like a begonia to me. (sp?) My own mother complains about all of her African violets dying when we moved to the UP. (too cold on the porch).
That is simply amazing Pam! (((hugs))) :rainbow2:
:yikes: You've just rendered me speechless...which is no easy feat, I'll tell ya! ;)
:cheer: Way to go, Mom! :cheer:

Guess we'll need Pam and her mom to tell us for sure what kind of miracle plant this is! I can see where it might be a begonia too - my first thought was a violet. Oh well, either way, it is so beautiful it takes your breath away! :)
I'm betting it was from my sister, so I will have to ask her if she remembers. I thought the planter was glass, but it's crystal. *crossing fingers* that I can make it grow! :)

You got your "One More Time" and "Second Chance" all in one week. :)

That is SO awesome, Pam!
I went to sleep last night with a big smile on my face after chatting with you about it! It is just SO AWESOME!!! (((Pam)))

First I must tell you I'm plant challenged:redface3:
But my first thought was that it is a geranium.
Whatever it is, it is special.

But my first thought was that it is a geranium.
I have to agree with Katherine. I think it is a geranium.
Take the root out of the current planter and put it in a new planter with some drainage holes along with some new Miracle Grow plant 'medium';) and keep it good and damp but not soupy. I believe you will have a great plant for the rest of time.
(((Momma))) a sweet kiss for your daughter.
(((Pam))) a wonderful new beginning. It is a healing thing.
:candle: :candle: :candle:
I am just elated for you! Talk about "rebirth"! ;) I think you and the plant have a found new survival mechanisms recently. We all knew there was a very special reason that we came together last weekend, but I don't think we could have imagined how truly special and live-changing it would be. You will have to tell John! So you not only killed your plants, you actually "killed" your mother's? PRICELESS! Say a great big prayer of thanks for your continuing validations. Amen to that!

I understand now. I just read about your reading and it is truly amazing. I mean, this isn't something you could even try to pass off as a coincidence. They really listen to you.
10-21-2006, 08:26 AM
Wow, You should see if you can nurse that plant back to a full life. I have a feeling your Mom would help.
10-21-2006, 09:14 AM
Goosebumps galore!!!! Too cool. I wonder if JH has any idea how much of an impact he has had on you all.
