“What do my Guides want me to know about my spiritual path over the next 6 months?”

I used Medicine Cards: The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals.

1) November: Elk

As I was beginning my meditation I saw a bright fluorescent pink rose on a white somewhat circular background.

Stamina. November will be a time that you want to pace yourself. Not just that the holidays are approaching and you are overextended, but in relation to your spiritual growth - don’t take on too many things at once. Take your time to learn and listen inwardly. Listen to discern your path. Be alert for change and move steadily and carefully.

2) December: Turkey (reversed)

Give-Away. This is not a time to give and then expect something in return. Whatever you give, do so freely with absolutely no strings attached. Remember to let go a little. But you’ll want to watch the intentions of others, someone may try to lead you onto a very different path than what you ‘feel’ pulled to. This may be a person, book, or other whom you respect and look to as a mentoring/teaching kind of energy. This could also be those negative ‘inner voices’ that niggle at your confidence.

The names Marian and Howard are highlighted. Also I sense and older, grandmotherly woman, short and a bit stocky. She’s fun but blunt and would be the type to listen to you and then say, “Oh come on, now. Think!”

3) January: Moose

Self-Esteem. This would seem to be a time when you may be working with children and teaching them about something. Some recognition of a job well-done or lesson learned will bring you satisfaction. Now would be a good time to take some retreat time for yourself and give nurturing to yourself.

4) February: Swan

Grace. Dreams will be important throughout this time, but particularly in February. There is a healing/healer aspect around you and it invites a time of accepting your gifts and inner knowing. Are you clairaudient? It seems that you are and may find validation coming through that way. Go with the flow. Practice meditation and deep breathing.

Par, parch, parchy – I can’t pull the word, but it sounds like it starts with a par and has a ch in it. Are you or some close a skydiver? I see a skydiver. To me it can symbolize overcoming fear and trusting that you are held in safety. I am not sure what it means here for sure. That ‘par’ word is trying hard to become clear. It sounds like 3 syllables.

5) March: Alligator (reversed)

Integration. Take some caution with quick-fix solutions. They could snag you. Look to long term solutions that require more clear thinking. Take your time. Clear your head before you act. Look at all angles and clearly assess the situation before sticking your oar in the water. Honor your own intuition. Honor your guides. Try using drumming or rattles during your meditation time to help clear some of the internal noise. Patience is the key this month.

6) April: Hummingbird

Joy. A time to relax and enjoy yourself. Count your gifts and blessings and share them with others. You will be feeling energetic and ready to take on anything that comes your way. Activity abounds and you are happy in the midst of it. You may be attending a concert or a large gathering that you are looking forward to. Have a blast! Again change is in the air. Worries and pressures should lighten considerably.

Is weight an issue for you or someone close to you? I see weight loss – not through sickness but rather as a way to become more healthy and balanced.

The story:

Lori, it seems you have a lot of interests and talents. I think you are being asked to hone in on just one or two of them and develop them fully before you add more. Among your talents are clairaudience, teaching, intuitive knowledge, and healing. I also believe you are clairvoyant and see colors as well as messages/pictures. Things to be aware of are self doubt, self sabotage, and over extending yourself.

I think you may be traveling. Are you considering a cruise in the early part of next year? It feels like water in the travel. You are attracting abundance on several levels and all you need do is use it to the higher good of yourself and others. Meditation and dreaming are the two places you will find your guidance. Synchronicity will be ever present after the first of the year too. Watch for those as they will validate your intuitive knowing.

Hi Lori! Thank you for giving me the opportunity today to be one of your readers! I randomly picked 6 cards from the Sacred Rose Tarot, and also picked a card from my new Power Animal Oracle Cards. I used my own impressions/feelings along with several book interpretations to come up with their meanings. I hope this is helpful for you!

As I began to shuffle the cards, I heard the name Paul, and then a moment later McCartney. So i don't know if there's any Beatle type reference going on here.. Also I get a restless type feeling, like you don't know where to begin. Stop, sit and focus and listen to your inner voice.

3 of Swords (reversed)- There has been pain and striffe in your life but you are moving past that. Your heart is beginning to heal. Your heart has been hurt, but you are living proof it continues to beat. Perhaps the heartache will hlep you help others in the same position. Healing is occuring. Thanks for the opportunity to read for you as a “new” reader! I want to apologize for the length first. :o I felt it would be difficult or nonspecific to get details for you as not only am I beginner at this, but I know you! So I meditated for clarity to get details in the cards….so this is the result! :love: :redface3: Keep in mind this is not predictions but possibilities and this is my interpretation. Do not rely on this to alter your life…LOL!

I use Universal Rider Waite deck and celtic cross spread.

Card 1 – atmosphere around question – Page of Swords Reversed.

It will be flowing fast. On this card it looks like the earth is turning into a river and the foundation you stand/stood on is almost gone but in a positive way. The page (you) is looking down at this, sword in hand (ready for the challenge) and almost ready to step solidly onto that flowing river-looking part of the earth. Ussually on this card I see winds of change, but for you the wind is in this brown bubble around the trees that are getting blown around. So I interpret this to mean the changes may be shaking others up around you. There are 3 peaks in the background – were there 3 hurdles for you to get to this point? 2 very sharp ones and a 3rd not as big or dominant?
The red boots are prominent to me (red= base charka and foundation). Since it is the boot or “grounding you” it is more appropriate with the thought that the page is about to step SOLIDLY onto the new foundation for the first time.

Card 2 – opposing you (good and bad)- a 3 again here – The 3 of Cups.

Feels like the third mountain from those prior hurdles in card 1 is somebody in your life. This card is celebratory but with the 3 women each foot is going different directions and one of the women you can’t see her feet at all! This woman also has a red dot ALMOST where the 3rd eye charka would be. I feel there’s one person who may be celebrating with you….
Ahh, just struck me the one hurdle was meeting a guide! The Women here represent you, your guide(s) and people in your life. The people in your life will stick by you but their “3rd eye” (red on her forehead) or foundation (can’t see her feet) is different from where you are. So don’t expect them to revel or celebrate with you as enthusiastically as you do.


Card 3 – Part of your past – Page of Pentacles.

A Page again! You are the page. A Page to me is understudy so you look to be a master at all of this eventually. The page in this card is holding “the prize” (pentacle) which I see as spiritual or metaphysical wisdom. The focus on the card is the page – very little background . But there is an empty field ready to be planted and small flower buds that are beginning to grow. I also notice the page here has same foot positions as Page in card 1. But in this card that right foot of the Page is entangled and some odd shaped growths are in a straight line to the left of the foot. In card 1, the left of the foot is where the “flow” was coming. In this card for your past, the flow was blocked (the growths). You were fixated on the goal (pentacle) without the grounding.
The Page’s boots here are orange. (sacral charka to me which keyword is “I want”). In card 1 the atmosphere was NOW as opposed to this card of you past. You are grounded but haven’t firmly stood onto that foundation yet.

Card 4 – Influence passing away – The Emperor.

Ok, hee I felt I was starting to make things fit because I personally know you. So I will say my impressions and then quote the book which confirms this.

First in this card the focus on the card is you (the emperor) and the background is barren. My impression was that the emperor (you) had tough armor on – hard shell, didn’t want to listen. This is covered over by reddish ORANGE gown. Overtop of THAT is the red cloak which looks like it could be taking over. This is a layered look – hard shell (armor) taken over by desire (orange gown) and now by the foundations (red cloak). Major theme here tying all these cards together so far.

As soon as I thought it was my own mind in the way I went to Eden Gray’s “A Complete Guide to the Tarot” and the paragraph that I saw first was:
“Note that the flesh is not the enemy of spirit but its vehicle; Spirit is not the enemy of the flesh but its driving force.” I really feel this card was going from not listening to wanting it all to beginning to get grounded.

Card 5 – things that may happen – Queen of Pentacles.

Wow, Feel so much growth and expansion here. Landscape went from barren/sparse in prior cards to fully developed and lush – full of flowers – blooms! The page is now a Queen!! The queen is fully in red (grounded and from shoes to chest is red) There is a white shirt under this dress where you see the arms and the heart area sticking out of that dress (foundation). The white is connection to higher consciousness and she holds the pentacle now on her lap as if she owns this and looks contented. There are red wings on a gold hat with greenish gold veil that hangs all the way to her feet. I am getting a lot of detail which ties in so nicely for your reading. The red wings again are the foundation (grounding) that will let you “fly” so to speak. The red dress (foundation/grounding you) has risen to encompass you to open that 3rd eye and be connected. The psychic energy is flowing through you. The gold hat is your crown charka which is opened and being utilized. The psychic or universal energy is flowing through your entire body as you are very mindful of your heart charka (represented by the greenish and gold of the veil which is behind the entire length of you!) As I said already the landscape is lush, but I now see every color in the surroundings. Your energy and charkas are aligned, connected and expanding.

Card 6 – Things that will come to pass – The Moon.

This is a karmic card here (major arcana). The sun and moon are intertwined (universal consciousness “the light” so to speak and emotions respectively.) Duality is prominent on this card. An endless path winds through the center of this card. What looks like lobster to me is crawling out of the water onto this path. Again ties to the first card where I felt earth was “flowing”….you are that crab coming out of water onto your endless path between the duality (physical world and spiritual world). There is such a depth of detail in this card and for such meaning in particular for you, I feel I need to quote the book:

“The moon in 3 phases watches over the landscape. From the pool of Cosmic Mind stuff in the foreground, a crayfish appears, symbolizing the early stages of conscious unfoldment. The wolf is nature’s untamed creation: the dog is the result of adaptation to life with man. In the background, halfway up the path, are the twin towers Man has erected to protect himself from his hostile environment. The Moon will lead him along ht rugged path, past the towers, to the final heights of attainment, if he will be guided by her reflected light and listen to the voice of his subconscious. Once again, the falling drops are Yods, represcenting the descent of the Life-force from above into material existence.
This is the key of sleep and dreams. The Moon’s three phases of intuition concern body, mind and spirit.”

Again the reference to the 3 as in the 3 of Cups earlier!


Card 7 – Your fears – The Empress.

The Empress is holding up a scepter and looking straight ahead but sitting comfortably. In the background is a flow of water to a waterfall and pool that goes off the right of the card. The Empress is sitting comfy and doesn’t even see this or the green aura around the trees (the beauty of it) because she is comfy and waiting for “inspiration” to come from above into the scepter. Her crown has white stars- to me representing her “feelers” from her crown charka to reach out for that information. I interpret this card for you as your fear is that you will be learning and focusing on one thing (the scepter) and miss out on everything else. She is also sitting on a large ORANGE pillow and under that is red bolseter with flow of red material all the way down her. So you feel that you have some grounding (the red) but your desire (orange) is HUGE as those stars on the crown reach up to connect.

Card 8 – your environment – 5 of Cups.

5 is the number of change in numerology. The figure in the card is all covered up and the face is red – but here I get the feeling of anger about having to be covered up! There are red and green puddles on the ground from 3 knocked over cups. The river of water is flowing by in the card. The figure is you and your having to keep hidden all the spiritual/psychic/metaphysical things. Here again the #3 (3 spilt cups out of the 5) – the 3 cups have made the red and green puddles. I feel the red puddles figuratively mean spilt blood and the green is broken heart. Like you have poured out your own blood to get understanding from others and yet still don’t have it and are still a little bitter/angry (red face) about having to keep this all to yourself. Although this is your environment, there is flow of the river (water representing subconscious that links us to the higher powers). You can focus on and cry over the spilt cups (lack of understanding in your environment) and be resentful (covered and red face) or choose to follow the flown and find new things (2 cups behind you still upright unnoticed.).

Card 9- your thoughts – 4 of Pentacles.

First thing I noticed here was structure and order of the houses behind this king. Funny that he has the Orange shoes (“I want” again) connected to 2 Pentacles (1 foot on a pentacle) and the pentacles appear to be floating. He holds one as if he is all encompassing that pentacle and another pentacle on top his head. He is all in red (grounded) and has hint of green trim on bottom of gown and sleeve (heart). This again is YOUR thoughts – you think you are grounded and in control. You want to be floating and connected and everything nice and orderly given to you. I know you want everything yesterday, but I was surprised to learn from this car you want it in a certain order and manner! I find the card almost comical:laff: because you know on some level it is still irrational thoughts but still want it. This card does not fit with any other card really in the reading. Your viewpoint about how it should unfold is not quite correct and that’s why it doesn’t fit neatly and easily with the other cards for me. You still have some work on grounding yourself (see cards 1 & 4) but the potential is so THERE! (card 5). From Card 4 the influence passing away – The Emperor only has the red covering ½ of him. Card 5 is so much potential and positive growth – in one word, fruitful. Card 6, the crayfish is at beginning of the path and mostly still in the water (your subconscious) which allows that link to the higher consciousness) You are still working on your grounding and linking and everything will be random – not wrapped up in a neat little package with a big bow!
The fact is you are only beginning your spiritual path and this shows in the final card.

Card 10 – culmination of reading – Ace of Wands.

Cards 5 & 6 are typically incorporate here to interpret the spread, but I have already summarized them above. The 10th card the Ace of Wands is a hand holding a single large wand that is coming as if from nowhere out of a cloud. There is a calm river winding below in the scenery which is the background. The hand and wand are illuminated by glowing white light. I feel the calm river instead of the oversweeping earth from card1 shows you own ideas (card9) will evolve and calm down. This is not a race! Slow and steady is the message here. The wand has green leaves (Yods) floating down from wand representing “descent into spirit matter”. An ace is a 1 and 1 in numerology symbolizes beginnings. You may feel you are so far on the way into your path but You are really that crayfish at the very beginning barely started even. The white light is being offered here along with the message to go slow and steady (card 10) and not put your focus on convincing others (card 2 and 8). This is your path’s beginning and you must finish becoming grounded/centered first. A MAJOR, MAJOR theme through cards 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 8!! Going back to card 2, I now see the woman in the foreground is ENTIRELY in red and the other is in orange with a little bit of white hanging out! I think it is a little clarity that your opposing forces are not only physical, spiritual and you (the 3) but ALSO, your ideas (orange clothed woman, your grounding (red clothed woman) and the higher consciousness (all in white). I feel you need to ground and realize the importance of balance and your charkas. As JH said in the workshop you can’t skip to talking to the dead or using 3rd eye if haven’t finished the foundation first. Keep in mind it’s a PATH – don’t try to sprint, you’ll burn out fast. Don’t try to run- you can hold that pace for a while but will also burn out. Walk down that path.:candle: :musicnote

What a deep question to ask, especially in the light of the weekend that we just we came from! I get the feeling that you really want to know and are ready to listen to what guidance is available to you. I was a little worried that I "knew too much" to be objective, but I prayed to be a empty vessel and let this information come "through" me, and not "from" me. I hope that this reading has meaning for you.

In response to such a deep question – a deep reading, for your reading contained many major arcana cards. This is a signal that heavy karmic influences are at work that cannot be avoided. It’s said that the major arcana cards are the keys or the “why” of our lives, the unavoidable karmic lessons that we came here to learn, and the lesser arcana cards are the more changeable, “who, what, where and when” of how we will accomplish those lessons. It appears that there are some heavy karmic influences at work in your life right now. But then, knowing what you’ve been through recently, I suspect this is no surprise to you.

I used my classic Rider Waite (the ones you saw at the table) and I performed a Celtic Cross spread for you:

Since knowing I was doing this reading for you, I kept hearing this sound: petulia like Petulia Clark from the 60’s (showing my age here) –Does the word, or the person mean anything for you?

Your current position: The 9 of Cups reversed
This card in it’s reversed position, speaks of not getting what you want, WHEN you want it. It means that you deeply desire something but that its’ not coming quickly enough, or that you’re pushing too hard, or over-doing a good thing. In the context of your question about your spiritual path, it could mean that patience is needed, and that balance is called for. A quote from a friend comes to mind, “Don’t keep your head so far up into heaven that you’re no good here on earth.”. Yes we want to be spiritual, but we are having the human experience too. We have to pay attention to our earthly, physical and material concerns too, or our spiritual education will collapse. Turn this card right side up by being patient in your spiritual search. This is also called “the gypsy wish card” meaning, all your wishes will come true with regard to your question, but in spirit’s time, not ours.

Crossing your path: The 15th Key the Devil
Two unclothed figures are chained to a block where a demonic winged figure stands guard. But the chains are loose around their necks, suggesting that they can simply remove the chains and walk away at any time, if they so choose too. All they have to do is make the conscious decision to walk away. This typically can represent addictions of all types: drugs, alcohol, unhealthy food or relationships, or at an even deeper level: unhealthy patterns of thinking. The implication here is something preventing you from your goals that are self imposed. The guidance here is to take a serious and honest inventory of anything in your life that is working against you, that you yourself are perpetuating. Whether it’s a substance abuse or your own self defeating affirmations (I can’t, it won’t work, I always fail) then turn yourself around and start using positive affirmations (I can do it, it WILL work, if I fail, I will learn from it and immediately try again to get out of the behavior that’s self-defeating. Often when people talk about how they gave up their addictions, they talk about a “flipping the switch”. Meaning, you’ve made the decision turn the situation around, and nothing will turn you back. For me, when I stopped smoking it was because I got pregnant. It “flipped the switch” for me. It’s time to flip the internal switch on what ever is holding you back, that you have control over.

The root of your question: the 13th Key Death
As scary as this card may sound all tarot card readers know that this represents a transformation and not a physical death. The kind of total transformation that you can’t return from. Something BIG happened in your life that was so transforming, so life changing, that you’ll never be the same again. I have the advantage here that I personally suspect what this event was, and it opened you up spiritually and took you to the top of the mountain, where you had to make a decision on which way to go! ;) There was no going back, and thank goodness, you don’t’ ever want to. This card is recognition of the life changing events that happened to you, that brought you to this question.

Recent Past: The Knight of Cups
The Knight of Cups rides confidently on his pure white graceful stead, offering a cup to his right – the future, about to cross over a river symbolizing another change of consciousness. Wings of imagination adorn his helmet, telling us that our imagination gives us wings to fly. The energy of this card tells me that you recently experienced yet another change --- one of many – and that your imagination is giving your wings to fly toward your goals. This is a very positive card. It's also the "white knight" card. Who else does this remind you of? ;)


Free will and aspirations: 7th key the chariot
The Chariot in this position speaks to your strength of will. You can use your free will to achieve your goals and aspirations. Strengthen your will and drive on. It’s a leap of faith, the first step taken off the cliff, trusting that you’re going to land on your feet, without seeing what’s below. It signifies your willingness to respond to the call from spirit, to submit yourself to changes without knowing exactly what those changes will be. Environment: your family, friends, coworkers: “others” – 10 pentacles reversed
This card reversed speaks of family disharmony, financial hardships for the group, bad business decisions possibly leading to loss of investments, inheritance, or retirement. I’d check to make sure that your insurance is up to date, and that your coverage is adequate for medical and home. The reversal tells me that it’s something that needs to be “turned right”, something to work on.

Hopes and fears: 20th key, Judgment
The angel Gabriel blows his trumpet and the dead are wakened from their coffins to hear the spiritual call. This is the symbol of the “clarion call” to awaken, a change of consciousness, a higher calling. Whereas the Death card symbolized the huge transition you experienced that brought you to this question, this card literally shows you rising from that death into your new life with spirit. This confirms the changes that you’re making and a pat on the back for “work well done”. A great card acknowledging that you are moving in the right direction, spiritually!

Outcome: 6 of swords,
This is also a wonderful card to get upright in any reading. It always means that the worst is behind you, and that you are rowing towards calmer waters, a journey in consciousness. The worst is behind you and a bright future awaits you. Keep rowing; you’re going in the right direction.

In summary we find that in your current situation, you will attain your spiritual goals, but you need to submit to spirit’s timeline, not your own. Pay attention to your earthly concerns as well as your spiritual. Crossing your path is an opportunity to take stock of how you might be holding yourself back with addictions: material, mental or emotional. Use positive affirmations to replace the negative ones. I am going to only read and respond to each of the readings one at a time so that they don’t influence each individual response – but most importantly so that I don’t confuse them.

What a deep question to ask, especially in the light of the weekend that we just we came from! Yes what a weekend! I came away from that weekend with just as much as I did from JE and in some ways more! This time however, I am more aware and in tune to what is happening thanks to you and all the fabulous people here have made me feel safe enough to explore this!

Pam, it is funny that you mention this because yesterday I had the house to myself and I literally talked to my guides. I have spoken to my guides many times before but it has usually been more like mental pleading to GIVE me the answers that I am looking for. The only problem was that until now I wanted those answers given to me rather than finding them for myself. This time is different because for the first time I talked TO them and not AT them. I stated to them with intention that I was ready to receive their guidance and promised to listen to my intuition to actively go out and find those answers I was looking for. I told them almost verbatim what you just said! You just gave me validation they heard me! Thank you.

I was a little worried that I "knew too much" to be objective, but I prayed to be a empty vessel and let this information come "through" me, and not "from" me. I don’t think that will be a problem as we haven’t talked much lately so I am confident this is accurate.

Again the weekend with JH also brought to the forefront the struggle with addiction. For me the addiction is food. I have always associated comfort with food and I need another outlet. Curbing any addictive tendency can be difficult and is often easier said than done. Just because one recognizes it doesn’t mean that you can turn that urge off. The internal switch you speak of unfortunately won’t work with this addiction. You can eliminate cigarettes completely from your life but you can’t eliminate food completely. I struggle with this daily.

The JH workshop made me take that inventory and made me see that this is a huge issue that needs to be dealt with. Being as overweight as I am has impacted not only my life but the lives of my children and husband. It has certainly left me with some additional motivation to work on this area in my life… which by the way… I am doing finally!


The root of your question: the 13th Key Death
As scary as this card may sound all tarot card readers know that this represents a transformation and not a physical death. The kind of total transformation that you can’t return from. This so true for me because I have definitely changed the way I think about things. I am so much more aware now of what kind of thoughts I am putting out there in the universe. What do Lori’s guides want her to know about her spiritual path over next 6 months?

Card 1 – atmosphere around question – Page of Swords Reversed.

It will be flowing fast. On this card it looks like the earth is turning into a river and the foundation you stand/stood on is almost gone but in a positive way. The page (you) is looking down at this, sword in hand (ready for the challenge) and almost ready to step solidly onto that flowing river-looking part of the earth. Usually on this card I see winds of change, but for you the wind is in this brown bubble around the trees that are getting blown around. So I interpret this to mean the changes may be shaking others up around you. You are correct. Many people in my family and where I work do not understand what I am doing. There are 3 peaks in the background – were there 3 hurdles for you to get to this point? 2 very sharp ones and a 3rd not as big or dominant? The red boots are prominent to me (red= base charka and foundation). Since it is the boot or “grounding you” it is more appropriate with the thought that the page is about to step SOLIDLY onto the new foundation for the first time. Again, you are correct. One thing I brought away with me from the JH workshop was that I did need to work on getting my base chakra balanced. Every exercise he led us through consistently showed that the base Chakra was my weakest area. I am struggling with getting myself in better shape physically so that I CAN become more grounded and this IS the first time in my life that I have stepped up to bat so to speak to try to attain this.

Card 2 – opposing you (good and bad)- a 3 again here – The 3 of Cups.

Feels like the third mountain from those prior hurdles in card 1 is somebody in your life. This card is celebratory but with the 3 women each foot is going different directions and one of the women you can’t see her feet at all! This woman also has a red dot ALMOST where the 3rd eye charka would be. I feel there’s one person who may be celebrating with you…. Ahh, just struck me the one hurdle was meeting a guide! The Women here represent you, your guide(s) and people in your life. The people in your life will stick by you but their “3rd eye” (red on her forehead) or foundation (can’t see her feet) is different from where you are. So don’t expect them to revel or celebrate with you as enthusiastically as you do. In a sense that would be Healergirl I believe. We have been step sisters for 20 years and have only this year discovered that we have been set on the same spiritual path together. It has brought us closer than ever before but there are also others in my life that are happy that I am going through this journey but don’t quite get it.

As for the guide, I think you may be right. I had an unusually vivid dream a few weeks ago in which an Indian woman brought me to a table to meet with someone. She brought a man to the table that was also of Indian descent. She told me she wanted me to meet him because he could help answer my questions and that I needed to speak to him. He was some type of cleric I believe and we had several discussions on faith. I had passed this off as just an interesting dream but maybe you are right.


Card 3 – Part of your past – Page of Pentacles.

A Page again! You are the page. A Page to me is understudy so you look to be a master at all of this eventually. The page in this card is holding “the prize” (pentacle) which I see as spiritual or metaphysical wisdom. The focus on the card is the page – very little background . But there is an empty field ready to be planted and small flower buds that are beginning to grow. I also notice the page here has same foot positions as Page in card 1. But in this card that right foot of the Page is entangled and some odd shaped growths are in a straight line to the left of the foot. In card 1, the left of the foot is where the “flow” was coming. In this card for your past, the flow was blocked (the growths). You were fixated on the goal (pentacle) without the grounding.
The Page’s boots here are orange. (sacral charka to me which keyword is “I want”). In card 1 the atmosphere was NOW as opposed to this card of you past. You are grounded but haven’t firmly stood onto that foundation yet.


I completely agree. I was blocked before and now that it has been opened I am seeking that firmer footing onto my new found existence. I have been doing a lot of study as well on the chakras not only for myself but for my family members as well. It is a learning process that is for sure. It certainly gives meaning to the phrase, “I once was blind, but now I see”

Card 4 – Influence passing away – The Emperor.
Ok, hee I felt I was starting to make things fit because I personally know you. So I will say my impressions and then quote the book which confirms this.

First in this card the focus on the card is you (the emperor) and the background is barren. My impression was that the emperor (you) had tough armor on – hard shell, didn’t want to listen. This is covered over by reddish ORANGE gown. Overtop of THAT is the red cloak which looks like it could be taking over. This is a layered look – hard shell (armor) taken over by desire (orange gown) and now by the foundations (red cloak). Major theme here tying all these cards together so far.

As soon as I thought it was my own mind in the way I went to Eden Gray’s “A Complete Guide to the Tarot” and the paragraph that I saw first was:
“Note that the flesh is not the enemy of spirit but its vehicle; Spirit is not the enemy of the flesh but its driving force.” I really feel this card was going from not listening to wanting it all to beginning to get grounded.

Again, I am in complete agreement. It is fascinating the number of parallels in yours and Pam’s reading! I was completely closed to this entire way of thinking just six months ago. It is amazing how much I have learned and how much I have grown in just that short time!


Card 5 – things that may happen – Queen of Pentacles.

Wow, Feel so much growth and expansion here. Landscape went from barren/sparse in prior cards to fully developed and lush – full of flowers – blooms! The page is now a Queen!! The queen is fully in red (grounded and from shoes to chest is red) There is a white shirt under this dress where you see the arms and the heart area sticking out of that dress (foundation). The white is connection to higher consciousness and she holds the pentacle now on her lap as if she owns this and looks contented. There are red wings on a gold hat with greenish gold veil that hangs all the way to her feet. I am getting a lot of detail which ties in so nicely for your reading. The red wings again are the foundation (grounding) that will let you “fly” so to speak. The red dress (foundation/grounding you) has risen to encompass you to open that 3rd eye and be connected. The psychic energy is flowing through you. The gold hat is your crown charka which is opened and being utilized. The psychic or universal energy is flowing through your entire body as you are very mindful of your heart charka (represented by the greenish and gold of the veil which is behind the entire length of you!) As I said already the landscape is lush, but I now see every color in the surroundings. Your energy and charkas are aligned, connected and expanding.

That is exactly how I feel right now! For the first time I feel like I am actually acknowledging and hearing the guidance of this universal energy. What I have been learning about my chakras and balancing them has helped tremendously! I feel like I am on the right track finally after wandering around so aimlessly for what seemed like forever. I know in my heart that I am getting closer to where I am supposed to be.

Card 6 – Things that will come to pass – The Moon.

This is a karmic card here (major arcana). The sun and moon are intertwined (universal consciousness “the light” so to speak and emotions respectively.) Duality is prominent on this card. An endless path winds through the center of this card. What looks like lobster to me is crawling out of the water onto this path. Again ties to the first card where I felt earth was “flowing”….you are that crab coming out of water onto your endless path between the duality (physical world and spiritual world). There is such a depth of detail in this card and for such meaning in particular for you, I feel I need to quote the book:

“The moon in 3 phases watches over the landscape. From the pool of Cosmic Mind stuff in the foreground, a crayfish appears, symbolizing the early stages of conscious unfoldment. The wolf is nature’s untamed creation: the dog is the result of adaptation to life with man. In the background, halfway up the path, are the twin towers Man has erected to protect himself from his hostile environment. The Moon will lead him along ht rugged path, past the towers, to the final heights of attainment, if he will be guided by her reflected light and listen to the voice of his subconscious. Once again, the falling drops are Yods, representing the descent of the Life-force from above into material existence.
This is the key of sleep and dreams. The Moon’s three phases of intuition concern body, mind and spirit.” Again the reference to the 3 as in the 3 of Cups earlier!

Again I completely agree. It is interesting that the number 3 keeps coming up. As we talked about in Chat earlier this week. I had a reading done at a psychic fair in which she said to me that she felt that where ever I spent the majority of my day she saw a large window with a view and felt like I watched birds at eye level, that I was mesmerized by them at the same time each day. She told me to check the time and then look up the number and its meaning. Well I work on the 37th floor of a high rise and on a clear day I can see Dallas from my office and well... I have a group of hawks that soar outside my window every day at 3:45 and I do sit mesmerized and watch them. 345 translates to the number 3 - Well the numerology books say that the number 3 represents optimism, energy, imagination and fun. 3 is the number of creation. There is an indefinable power behind a 3, which allows the bearer to create things and solutions heretofore unknown. 3’s also represent a number of profound triads including the Mind, Body, and Spirit which is right smack in the middle of the changes I have going on! The number 345 taken from Doreen Virtue’s angel numbers reads that I am seeking balance and change and that I should not be afraid of these changes that my guides have heard my prayers and are assisting me as I go through these changes. So… you can see the many parallels here!

Card 7 – Your fears – The Empress.

The Empress is holding up a scepter and looking straight ahead but sitting comfortably. In the background is a flow of water to a waterfall and pool that goes off the right of the card. The Empress is sitting comfy and doesn’t even see this or the green aura around the trees (the beauty of it) because she is comfy and waiting for “inspiration” to come from above into the scepter. Her crown has white stars- to me representing her “feelers” from her crown charka to reach out for that information. I interpret this card for you as your fear is that you will be learning and focusing on one thing (the scepter) and miss out on everything else. She is also sitting on a large ORANGE pillow and under that is red bolseter with flow of red material all the way down her. So you feel that you have some grounding (the red) but your desire (orange) is HUGE as those stars on the crown reach up to connect.

I don’t know about feeling like I am going to miss out on something so much as feeling like a kid in a candy store and being told I can have what ever I want! I want it all but don’t know where to start! J

Card 8 – your environment – 5 of Cups.

5 is the number of change in numerology. The figure in the card is all covered up and the face is red – but here I get the feeling of anger about having to be covered up! There are red and green puddles on the ground from 3 knocked over cups. The river of water is flowing by in the card. The figure is you and your having to keep hidden all the spiritual/psychic/metaphysical things. Here again the #3 (3 spilt cups out of the 5) – the 3 cups have made the red and green puddles. I feel the red puddles figuratively mean spilt blood and the green is broken heart. Like you have poured out your own blood to get understanding from others and yet still don’t have it and are still a little bitter/angry (red face) about having to keep this all to yourself. Although this is your environment, there is flow of the river (water representing subconscious that links us to the higher powers). You can focus on and cry over the spilt cups (lack of understanding in your environment) and be resentful (covered and red face) or choose to follow the flown and find new things (2 cups behind you still upright unnoticed.).

This might be in reference to the current situation ongoing with my family right now. You might remember that JH mentioned in the reading with my sister-in-law as being my grandmother’s caretaker. She is also the one that has the adoption connection. She gave up two children for adoption at 18 because the man that she was married to had beaten her nearly to death. After my grandmother’s death she has had a huge gap to fill and made contact with that ex in an effort to help her newly found children find their father. She has since found out he is dying of pancreatic cancer and has chosen to divorce my brother and leave her family, her friends, her children, her whole life here and move to another state to care for the man that left her for dead 24 years ago. That sister in law also has been instrumental in going through some of this awakening with me and I feel betrayed and yes - resentful.

Card 9- your thoughts – 4 of Pentacles.

First thing I noticed here was structure and order of the houses behind this king. Funny that he has the Orange shoes (“I want” again) connected to 2 Pentacles (1 foot on a pentacle) and the pentacles appear to be floating. He holds one as if he is all encompassing that pentacle and another pentacle on top his head. He is all in red (grounded) and has hint of green trim on bottom of gown and sleeve (heart). This again is YOUR thoughts – you think you are grounded and in control. You want to be floating and connected and everything nice and orderly given to you. I know you want everything yesterday, but I was surprised to learn from this car you want it in a certain order and manner! I find the card almost comical because you know on some level it is still irrational thoughts but still want it. This card does not fit with any other card really in the reading. Your viewpoint about how it should unfold is not quite correct and that’s why it doesn’t fit neatly and easily with the other cards for me. You still have some work on grounding yourself (see cards 1 & 4) but the potential is so THERE! (card 5). From Card 4 the influence passing away – The Emperor only has the red covering ½ of him. Card 5 is so much potential and positive growth – in one word, fruitful. Card 6, the crayfish is at beginning of the path and mostly still in the water (your subconscious) which allows that link to the higher consciousness) You are still working on your grounding and linking and everything will be random – not wrapped up in a neat little package with a big bow!
The fact is you are only beginning your spiritual path and this shows in the final card.

This card actually is quite comical because that is exactly how I feel. I keep thinking that I wish there was some way to tie up everything in a nice little package and bow so I will know where to go and what to do. Now I realize that isn’t the way this works… but one can still wish! LOL

Card 10 – culmination of reading – Ace of Wands.

Cards 5 & 6 are typically incorporate here to interpret the spread, but I have already summarized them above. The 10th card the Ace of Wands is a hand holding a single large wand that is coming as if from nowhere out of a cloud. There is a calm river winding below in the scenery which is the background. The hand and wand are illuminated by glowing white light. I feel the calm river instead of the oversweeping earth from card1 shows you own ideas (card9) will evolve and calm down. This is not a race! Slow and steady is the message here. The wand has green leaves (Yods) floating down from wand representing “descent into spirit matter”. An ace is a 1 and 1 in numerology symbolizes beginnings. You may feel you are so far on the way into your path but You are really that crayfish at the very beginning barely started even. The white light is being offered here along with the message to go slow and steady (card 10) and not put your focus on convincing others (card 2 and 8). This is your path’s beginning and you must finish becoming grounded/centered first. A MAJOR, MAJOR theme through cards 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 8!! Going back to card 2, I now see the woman in the foreground is ENTIRELY in red and the other is in orange with a little bit of white hanging out! I think it is a little clarity that your opposing forces are not only physical, spiritual and you (the 3) but ALSO, your ideas (orange clothed woman, your grounding (red clothed woman) and the higher consciousness (all in white). I feel you need to ground and realize the importance of balance and your charkas. As JH said in the workshop you can’t skip to talking to the dead or using 3rd eye if haven’t finished the foundation first. Keep in mind it’s a PATH – don’t try to sprint, you’ll burn out fast. Don’t try to run- you can hold that pace for a while but will also burn out. Walk down that path. You are so right! On one hand I feel like I have come so far but on the other I realize that there is SO far to go! I think part of what I got from JH’s seminar you just summed up for me in this last card and that is the fact that I have to learn to walk before I run. I have also learned something very important and that is to trust my guides and listen – REALLY listen to them. They will show me the way and it goes so much easier when I can recognize that and let them lead me down that path rather than crashing blindly through it. Since realizing this my path has opened up so much and it is like a weight has been lifted because I don’t have to figure this out. They will show me… in their time… in their way. No I agree Pam. It is not just the physical base of it at all. I guess I should have explained that more thoroughly. You are right it is a major theme in my life to be able to finally listen and trust by doing these things right now. I am laying the foundation to become more grounded. But typically, it doesn't have to be romantic. It could be any situation that has left you feeling heartbroken. Could be as deep as the crossing over of a loved one, or as superficial as not getting a job that you really really wanted.

Ok, as for the 3 of Swords, when I was talking about the hurt, I wasn't neccessarily implying romance...It could be more along the lines of a death, or an issue that left your heart feeling broken, causing emotional pain.. Divorce, family problems, grief etc.... Perhaps like you said, maybe I was picking up on your sister in law, since this is currently happening in your life.

As for the Jenny reference, I clearly heard that name. Just giving you what I was getting. Maybe you will meet a Jenny regarding your spiritual path, or someone who's name sounds like Jenny? Just keep it in the back of your head, and ya never know.

1) November: Elk

As I was beginning my meditation I saw a bright fluorescent pink rose on a white somewhat circular background.

I don’t recognize this but I will keep an eye out for it.

Stamina. November will be a time that you want to pace yourself. Not just that the holidays are approaching and you are overextended, but in relation to your spiritual growth - don’t take on too many things at once. Take your time to learn and listen inwardly. Listen to discern your path. Be alert for change and move steadily and carefully.


I seem to be getting a recurring message here to say the least. After the JH weekend I kind of went on a shopping spree for information. I bought books on Reiki, auras, dowsing, and numerology. It seems like each time I do this that I get told slow down by my guides and here it is again. J I am listening… promise.

2) December: Turkey (reversed)

Give-Away. This is not a time to give and then expect something in return. Whatever you give, do so freely with absolutely no strings attached. Remember to let go a little. But you’ll want to watch the intentions of others, someone may try to lead you onto a very different path than what you ‘feel’ pulled to. This may be a person, book, or other whom you respect and look to as a mentoring/teaching kind of energy. This could also be those negative ‘inner voices’ that niggle at your confidence.

Hmmmm this is interesting because I have just decided to take a Reiki class and I wonder if it could have something to do with that. Another possibility could very well be that negative inner voice of mine. I just had a discussion with a friend here on the board that brought that very issue to my attention. Confidence is a big part of it as well.

The names Marian and Howard are highlighted. Also I sense and older, grandmotherly woman, short and a bit stocky. She’s fun but blunt and would be the type to listen to you and then say, “Oh come on, now. Think!”

Howard does not mean anything to me but Marian might. I have a great aunt Mary who passed probably fifteen years ago. She was as round as she was short and was very blunt! In fact shortly before she passed she had told us that when she died she wanted to be buried @$$ up so she could tell the world to kiss her butt! And you know what – They did! She was a character and I wish I could have gotten to know her better as an adult.

3) January: Moose

Self-Esteem. This would seem to be a time when you may be working with children and teaching them about something. Some recognition of a job well-done or lesson learned will bring you satisfaction. Now would be a good time to take some retreat time for you and give nurturing to yourself.

Again the working with children… this has come up three times since the JH weekend including John telling me this as well. I can’t imagine where or how that opportunity would come up but I would welcome it with open arms. I have also been told more than once that I need to take care of myself.

4) February: Swan

Grace. Dreams will be important throughout this time, but particularly in February. There is a healing/healer aspect around you and it invites a time of accepting your gifts and inner knowing. Are you clairaudient? It seems that you are and may find validation coming through that way. Go with the flow. Practice meditation and deep breathing.

This is exciting because I have discovered that I am being drawn to healing right now. There are so many people directly in my life that can benefit from this and I am finding that I have some natural ability for it. I am not strongly clairaudient but I have gotten some validations that way in the past. I am currently working on meditation and the breathing exercises that JH has taught in his books. Thank you for that validation!


Par, parch, parchy – I can’t pull the word, but it sounds like it starts with a par and has a ch in it. Are you or some close a skydiver? I see a skydiver. To me it can symbolize overcoming fear and trusting that you are held in safety. I am not sure what it means here for sure. That ‘par’ word is trying hard to become clear. It sounds like 3 syllables.


My husband used to skydive but not since we have been together. He quit twenty plus years ago when he broke both legs and several other bones when he landed incorrectly. It is something he has always wanted to do again but now since the stroke can not. I do struggle daily to overcome fears in a lot of different areas so that does make sense. I am working on it… progress is slow but I know I will get there.

5) March: Alligator (reversed)

Integration. Take some caution with quick-fix solutions. They could snag you. Look to long term solutions that require more clear thinking. Take your time. Clear your head before you act. Look at all angles and clearly assess the situation before sticking your oar in the water. Honor your own intuition. Honor your guides. Try using drumming or rattles during your meditation time to help clear some of the internal noise. Patience is the key this month.

Patience again! I will keep an eye out for this as well. I am learning to trust my own intuition more every day and I am learning to trust and honor my guides. I have never used drumming or rattles during meditation before but I am willing to try anything that will bring me closer to clearing those internal thoughts.

6) April: Hummingbird

Joy. A time to relax and enjoy yourself. Count your gifts and blessings and share them with others. You will be feeling energetic and ready to take on anything that comes your way. Activity abounds and you are happy in the midst of it. You may be attending a concert or a large gathering that you are looking forward to. Have a blast! Again change is in the air. Worries and pressures should lighten considerably.

Funny you should say that. I am going to be seeing John Edward in April when he is here in Dallas. I am looking forward to seeing him because this time I am going solely for the sheer enjoyment of watching the process unfold this time. I am going with the intention of leaving my expectations at the door and just being there.

Is weight an issue for you or someone close to you? I see weight loss – not through sickness but rather as a way to become more healthy and balanced.

Yes! You know that friend I talked about in the first card? Well that is exactly what those negative affirmations were about. I am struggling right now with weight. I am finally doing something about it and it is very difficult! It is nice to know that hard work will pay off!

I wonder if this is refering to the Reiki class I am going to be taking with Twinky this weekend? I will keep that in mind as I go through this process to limit myself. I also do see alot of colors when I get intuitive flashes. I tend to be more clairsentient rather than audient but It does happen. Self doubt and sabatoge are always in the background for me too! I tend to let EGO get in the way at times and it just shuts me down but I am more aware of this and hopefully I can continue to work on this.

I think you may be traveling. Are you considering a cruise in the early part of next year? It feels like water in the travel. You are attracting abundance on several levels and all you need do is use it to the higher good of yourself and others. Meditation and dreaming are the two places you will find your guidance. Synchronicity will be ever present after the first of the year too. Watch for those as they will validate your intuitive knowing.
I am not considering a cruise in the early part of the year but I am planning on going on the November JH cruise! I can’t wait for it. I have also been getting most of my intuition and guidance from dreams and from the meditations. I will be looking out for those synchronicities.

Okay the ‘par’ – I’m getting “like DUH” - Parcheesi? I just saw the game board and yellow game pieces. I love that game but it wasn’t coming to me earlier. The yellow pieces are doing a lot of bumping off and evoking much fun!

I don’t know about the Parcheesi connection but my friends and I play an online game called Jamble that is similar to scrabble and it has yellow spaces on the game board.
