CarolynB
Okay... I’m going to go ahead and get started then

mae4985
:yeah:

CarolynB
I am happy, healthy, slender and prosperous.

Is next week’s affirmation. I will be including a visualization to go along with it.

It’s one Starlasue has used to great effect.

I’m going to open tonight’s chat with tip #43 from John Holland’s 101 Ways to Jump-Start Your Intuition. The title of the tip? MANIFESTING

The affirmation that accompanies this tip is: “I know what I want and where I’m going.”

And the explanation will lead us into the core of tonight’s focal point: letting go.

“How do you make your goals and desires come alive? Having a clear picture in your mind (of the highest good) and charging it with energy can help turn it into a reality. Visualize a goal in its final resolution. Now feel what it’s like to have a successful outcome. See it happening here and now.

Maintain and charge this image as you breathe energy into it. Feel the excitement, the energy, and the joy. Let it go, trust, and release it to the universe.”

Do either of you have JH’s 101 ways ...?

Moondream
nope

mae4985
no, and I am going to have to leave too

CarolynB
are you on his mailing list to get his tips?

(((Paula)))

mae4985
no but I guess i should

CarolynB
lol

Moondream
nite Paula :)

CarolynB
Nite m’dear

mae4985
have fun!

CarolynB
LET IT GO!!!!

Three little words ... but very powerful words when it comes to manifesting

So how many of you were aware that a big part of manifesting is “letting it go”?

lol ... my prepared text made an assumption that there would be more than 1 other person here

Moondream
I’m sure it makes sense

lol

CarolynB
And how many of you, even those who were aware of it, find that part the hardest?

I have to laugh, the universe is very good about presenting us with opportunities to grow and learn. This week, I participated in 2 separate conversations with Friends here in chat. In both cases, as we were discussing manifesting, I raised the point of letting it go. My perception of the blockages they were experiencing was the let it go part.

Moondream
me

CarolynB
yeah, me too

I wasn’t really sure what part of manifesting I would be talking about this week, but those 2 conversations shouted at me. So thanks, my friends!

So does letting it go mean we should do nothing in furtherance of the energy we are manifesting?

I don’t think so. I am reminded of the story of the man who was told there was going to be a flood.

A dam broke, and as word spread throughout the valley below, people hurried to save themselves. But one man refused to leave his house. “God will take care of me,” he said. Just before the flood waters reached his house, his neighbors urged him to hop in to their waiting car and flee, but he stayed put. When the water began to fill his house, he climbed up onto the roof. Soon a young man in a boat rowed by and urged him to jump in. “No,” the man replied.

“God will take care of me.” So he stuck to his roof, and the boat headed off. Finally, as the waters began to lap at the top of the roof, a helicopter approached, and a rope was lowered. “Grab on and we’ll haul you up,” the pilot shouted. But the man refused. “God will take care of me,” he said.

Finally, the flood covered the house, and as the man began swimming madly to stay afloat, he cried out to God, “Why didn’t you save me?” A voice from heaven answered, ”I sent you a car, a boat and a helicopter. What else do you want?”

We need, in letting go, to nonetheless recognize the gift of the energy when it comes to us.

When we fail to recognize the energy, we are not failing the universe

we are failing ourselves

We create our reality

We need to accept responsibility for the reality we create

When we send energy out into the universe in the form of affirmations, visualizations, and expect it to manifest

we also need to make sure we are wholly committed to the energy

if any part of us has doubts about the outcome, worries even a tiny bit about it,

we fail to create that which we seek

“Worrying is using your imagination to create something you do not want.” (Ask and It is Given, Hicks)

Keep in mind that imagination is a very powerful tool in manifestation

seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting, BEING the outcome is necessary

and if you worry, you’ve taken a part of the outcome and thrown doubt into it

The following is from http://understandingthesecret.com/the-secret/understanding-the-secret-dont-resist-the-wind/ (http://understandingthesecret.com/the-secret/understanding-the-secret-dont-resist-the-wind/)

“So, I was watching this dead leaf in the tree, vibrating rhythmically in the wind, and it occurred to me that we can be a lot like this leaf. The leaf wasn’t really moving itself. The wind was moving it. The wind, which was all around it, was moving through the leaf, and because the leaf still clung to the tree, it fluttered back and forth.

The analogy to us humans that I was seeing was that the Secret is like the wind in our lives. Like the wind, it is a hidden force that permeates everything, everywhere. The Secret is pure abundance, unlimited possibility.

But we often get in the way of that pure potential and, instead, make noise, move around a lot, but don’t really get anywhere. Life the leaf, we cling tight to old beliefs and limited ideas about ourselves, rather than letting go and letting the wind carry us easily along to the destination that is in alignment with our highest good.”

Moondream
nice

CarolynB
My take on this:

In both the case of the man who didn’t recognize the energy of rescue provided by the diving and the analogy of the leaf clinging to the tree, we come to a greater understanding of how not letting go holds us back.

The man clung to his belief that he would recognize God’s intervention because it would appear miraculous in nature. He was looking for the burning bush or the flutter of angel’s wings rather than the gift of rescue offered by the people in the car, the boat and the helicopter. HE wanted to control THE MANNER in which the energy came … what it would look like… he didn’t accept the energy when it was there. Accepting the energy is part of the letting go of the energy.

That may seem a bit convoluted ... to accept energy is to let it go

but it’s really no different a concept that the saying we all know so well

If you love someone, let them go, if they come back to you they are yours and if they don’t they never were in the first place

The leaf clung to the tree because that is what it knows … it knows how to do that, stay stuck to the tree. We know the energy of not having, not being fulfilled, not getting what we think we want, and so we cling to that.

We have patterns, habits of thinking

We also have habits, patterns of thinking

We think that if we want something we are being selfish

especially if it’s something good

maybe even luxurious

But the corollary of the leaf clinging to the tree is that the more we know having, the more we know being fulfilled, the more we know getting what we want, the more we will seek and cling to that.

lol

I know ... it’s a bit convoluted, but are you still with me

any questions?

Moondream
yep

I’m just listening

CarolynB
cool

Moondream
well,

reading

CarolynB
lol

When we put out an affirmation ... especially one that is very different than how our energy is generally put out

there can be a kind of dissonance

within our core of being

but we need to recognize that dissonance is truly of our own making

just as we are spiritual beings in the middle of a physical experience

so too our spiritual nature can be confined by that physical experience

by the very habits and patterns we developed

when we weren’t paying attention to our spiritual nature

or the spiritual nature of the universe

or the spiritual nature of physical matter itself

Last week I talked a bit about the biology of belief

and in future weeks I’ll reflect on it some more

it is fascinating the extent to which that which we perceive as physical

may actually be more spiritual than we have ever heretofore perceived

or even imagined, lol

Earlier this week I was listening to some of the “Abraham” channeling of Esther Hicks

or maybe its the other way around

the Esther Hicks channeling of Abraham

lol

in any event

the conference involved audience participation

and the members of the audience who asked questions

clearly had some familiarity with manifesting

and the Law of Attraction

but they weren’t being successful in their manifestations

and it was clear just in listening to these conversations

that you could feel the tension of the participants as they spoke of their affirmations

and everything they were doing “right”

but the tension in and of itself told a different story

and part of what they weren’t doing right was letting go

letting go involves trusting the universe’s timing

you can actually manifest anything

but if you say the affirmation

live the affirmation

breathe the affirmation

but then keep looking over your shoulder for it

you’ve missed the point entirely

for it’s probably right smack in front of you

and when you didn’t receive it when it came

it went away

nobody, not even the universe

appreciates an unapprecriated gift, lol

Moondream
yep

CarolynB
any questions? lol

Moondream
like the adage of holding something so tightly in your palm

CarolynB
YES!

Moondream
that nothing else can hold it for you

CarolynB
it slips through your fingers

Moondream
yep

CarolynB
too

Moondream
and the funny thing is,

CarolynB
For myself, I know that the “letting go” part is what is holding back some of my affirmations

Moondream
the outcome the Spirit will provide

is soooo much better than you could imagine for yourself

but human nature is to hold on, for fear

and control

CarolynB
yes ... fear is a big part of it

and control is really just another word for fear

Moondream
yep

CarolynB
but that’s why I started our weekly affirmations the way I did

I acknowledge and accept the divine power of the Universe. I use the divine power to manifest changes in my life for the greatest good and highest purpose.

Moondream
cool

CarolynB
Those 2 affirmations should help to pave the pathway for all future affirmations

they are very much about “letting go”

the first is totally about understanding

and the second is about using the gift of the universe for self-creation

the creation of our reality

and doing it in the most positive way possible

We’ll talk more about “letting it go” next week, but I’d like to conclude this week where we began, with a tip from John Holland’s 101 Ways to Jump-Start Your Intuition – this time it’s tip #58 – LETTING GO –

The affirmation is “The more I trust and let go, the more I am guided.”

“Discovering who we are and what we want are constant endeavors for most of us. Know that your intuition want to guide you and be your partner in what you truly desire and need. Sometimes you have to let go of the riverbank to see where life wants to take you. Be courageous, take challenges, be willing to trust, and learn to let go so that your inner guidance can lead you to new discoveries and exciting opportunities. Go with the flow!”

Moondream
cool

thanks Paula

I know it’s tough, I actually use my name on the board, lol

I’m glad you came ...

Moondream

thanks

CarolynB
It would’ve been lonely talking to myself

Moondream
I saw it on the board

and it looked like something I’d like to hear

Thanks, Carolyn! Sorry I couldn't make it last night. But I did get the message.;)

I have a point for discussion. How do we interpret "letting go"? It sounds like it could be quite passive, like we sit and wait for things to happen to us, rather than making things happen for ourselves.

As a life coach, I help others to create a goal and then to commit to taking action. If we sit and do nothing, then nothing will happen. I agree that manifesting helps bring opportunities into our lives and it is up to us to first, see and recognize the opportunity and second, to take advantage of it....much like the story of the man and the flood.

I believe that letting go is about letting go of both negativity and of worrying about the outcome. Often the best way of stopping the worrying is to do something, start down a path without worrying if it is the right path. Letting go of the fear of failure is also important to manifesting a positive outcome.

Sometimes we get "stuck" worrying about making the "right" decision or the "best" choice. I believe it is better to make a choice and try something than to sit and worry about the choices. I also believe this is what John Holland is saying - Be courageous and take a challenge, but be guided by your intuition. "The more I trust and let go, the more I am guided."

I welcome your thoughts. We are all learning together and I feel blessed that we are sharing the same journey.:hearts:

LOL ... yep, I hear ya. The "letting go" is definitely not passive, that's why I used the tale of the flood. But letting go is about not worrying, not needing to have control of the how, the where, the when but recognizing the opportunities the universe brings to us for our self-creation. The man in our flood tale had 3 opportunities to create a safe environment but choose passivity over action ... he failed to recognize the energy gift of safety. He gave up control, but not the need to control. He wanted the energy gift to look like what he thought it should look like - the miracle, the burning bush, the angel to bring him to safety. He had a need to control the HOW. The more we let go of the need to control our environment, the more control we have over it, because our spirit is open to the energy as it appears and not as we think it should appear.

Great question and the very part of "letting it go" scheduled for chat next week!

Good chat - thanks for posting it.

I am reminded of a lesson from my spiritual director about 'letting go'. In this case letting go is stepping aside and getting ego out of the way so that we can really be present and let God/Universe/Spirit/{you insert yours} guide us. Letting go that we are truly open to listen to that still small voice and act on the gifts and opportunities presented.

Often when we finally decide to put our whatever in God's hands we hold it firmly in our grasp and reach out to hand it over, but only with one hand - the other is behind our back with a little bit of whatever still in it.
That little bit is enough to block out the messages we need b/c we are still trying to keep some control and our ego will trip us up over and over again. And God knows 100% was not given over.

Sometimes when things are not going well and I have prayed and meditated, tried to manifest but nothing good happens and I get frustrated, I stop and think, "Did ya hold a little bit of whatever behind your back? Did ya miss the something good happens b/c you wanted everything your way? Was what you wanted for the higher good of all?" 99.9999999% of the time the answers to those questions during times of frustration and disappointment are 'yes'; 'yes' and 'probably not really' - in that order.

Not sure that translated well but I tried. :D

I just caught the end of a movie I saw a long time ago. Circumstances were pushing a young couple apart and they did not know when/if they would see each other again. The young man offered this quote from his deceased mother - "What's for you will never go by you."

PS - The movie had a happy ending.:hearts:
