View Full Version : Ask Coach Beth!
Have a dream for 2007 and want to make it a reality?
Want to figure out how to get a better balance in your life?
Want to go in the direction that your soul leads you and don't know where to start?
It's a new year and here's a new way for you to get some "Coaching for Your Soul"! Here's how it works. You post a question regarding a goal or a topic that you would like me to address. I will take a question each week and post my response. Since we are posting in a public forum, please do not provide specific personal details or names. Unlike an individual coaching relationship, this information will not be confidential and I will take that into consideration in my replies.
My goal is to help you make your dreams come true in 2007! I believe that we will all benefit from each others' experiences and that this will be a fun way of exploring different coaching topics together.
So go ahead...Ask Coach Beth a question!:hearts:
Brilliant! :bulb: Thanks so much for all the time and energy you're putting in, Beth!

Hi Beth!
This isn't specific to me but I know it is a common question. It probably will help someone.
How does one stay motivated in a current job they really dislike while they move forward toward a career they feel is more suitable to them?

OK - we have a winner! Thanks, Laura, for the question.:hearts: I'll post my reply later in a separate thread.
Hi:wave: -
I'm looking for the next question! Who's next?
I have one, Beth :)
What it a good strategy for staying focused on our own goals, whatever they may be, when personal obligations (family, friends, etc.) seem to sabotage our concentration?
GREAT one, Dawn!! I could've written that one myself. I think this is a common problem for so many with the concerns of home, family, and career. We have to be so many things to so many people.
Looking forward to Beth's reply. :)
OK, Dawn - thanks! We have a winner!;)
Ready for the next question! Great topics and discussion so far.
And the next question is....?

The answers are in separate threads in this forum ... for example the answer to Laura's question is in a thread entitled Ask Coach Beth - Laura's Question (http://www.friendscommunities.org/showthread.php?t=15717) ... MommaSassy's question is Ask Coach Beth - MommaSassy's Question ... and so on ...

I have been unable to move on from past hurts. I believe it is because of the need for closure. How do I let go of the desire to seek revenge?
Would you like to get some clarity around an area of your life or a decision you are trying to make?
Would you like to find a better balance in your life between your work, your family, and time for yourself?
This is a great sharing and learning opportunity for all of us - so go ahead and ask Coach Beth a question! :hearts:

How can I lower the impossibly high standards I set for myself and still believe that I am doing my best? Or, alternatively, how can I pack 48 more hours into the day so that I can accomplish everything?

Hi, my biggest challenge is memorization. After caring for my dying parents, I thought going back to school [at 50+] would be a good idea. I :hearts: Chinese medicine. But, I have gotten 1/2 way and my memorization problems are catching up with me. [I'm starting to take comprehensive exams] Herbs are especially difficult because, we are expected to memorize not understand. Huge volumes and sometime non-sense syllables....
I don't know if you can advise on this kind of thing, but ?
K
Thanks to both Petrichor and rv2mt for your questions! :hearts:
I will take them in order and post them individually in separate threads....look for the responses shortly!
