John Edward Official Board SHUTS DOWN!
As of September 26, 2001 (today), the Studios USA's John Edward Official Message Board has been SHUT DOWN due to skeptics full of "venom" to fans of John Edward and was found "upsetting" to Studios USA staff members. All the fans fled and "Jack" (the admin for Studios USA) has shut down the forum.

Yes, I can tell you why. TPTB (The Powers That Be) gave me the order to shut it down last night. The skeptics who posted there were so full of venom for anyone who was a fan of JE that all the fans left the board. Also, some of their posts were found to be upsetting to some of my superiors (and myself. Some of those people were just plain rude beyond all reason).
So, the short-lived John Edward board is no more, nor is it likely to be revived.

Doesn't it make you appreciate what we have here even more? It does me. Pam has done a great job. We have been
provided with a safe haven to come talk, share, sometimes disagree, but leave with a good feeling. I'm glad I never saw the
posts he spoke of as upseting him and his staff. Just my two quick trips to Randi's made me feel like running and taking a hot
shower. It made me feel dirty just being around that venomous
spewing.

I heartily agree that this is a safe haven for those of like minds or those who are just seeking some answers. I don't know what all is entailed in providing such a form, but please, please keep doing what you're doing and thank you so much for your hard work. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

John can always stop in on our chats (when I remember to get on ) I'm sure everyone would like the chance to tell him how great he is. I enjoy coming here and reading all the opinions and comments that are here. This is about the only place I visit.

I got a kick out of this, as there have been several 'trolls' wandering in using JE's name. What is really funny is that they usually put an 's' at the end < John Edwards >. They come in thinking we are going to fall for it :rolleyes:

If JE ever does grace us with his presence, I hope he uses a nickname. Some poor mod may kick him to the curb otherwise :eek:

I was sorry to see the USA bb shut down. All those people who say skeptics are trying to 'save us' or help us understand; obviously never came across that type of behavior. I have seen it plenty :rolleyes: and only visited the bb once. I just don't have time in my life for that kind of negativity.

My observation of that forum was that there was little or no moderation and the trolls ran rampant. Not a nice place and every positive post about JE seemed to be met with and countered by cynics who didn't know the meaning of respectful debate. More posts about indivual personalities than about JE too. Very sad and disappointing.

I agree with the above posts that I am glad to have a safe haven to discuss issues related to John Edward, and that heavy moderation is necessary to keep this board informative and educational. Thanks for being here everyone.......:wave:

I wandered on to that message board when it was first started.

Glad I never wandered back after that.

God knows I don't need to hear any of that venom.

I checked out Randi's site once, it really aggravated me...I don't know why I wanted to do that to myself.

I have to laugh at the cynics sometimes because all they have accomplished with me is to make me dig my heels more firmly into where I am now. I'm planted and no one is going to dig me up!!!!

Too bad those folks don't spend more of that time and energy on "saving" themselves.:rolleyes:

I hope the people who were not spewing that venom around and were sincere in learning more about J.E. and co. drop by here.

It's unfortunate that those who want to get into serious discussions about the message of John Edward find themselves, as they did on that forum, feeling as though they have to defend their beliefs to those who make a mockery out of their own spirituality.

I have to wonder how long one other forum is going to last. Although they make a pretense to moderate it, their goal seems to be to keep controversy front and center. A tiresome environment to wade through, at best.

Well, score one for the cynics. I'm finding it difficult to understand why Crossing Over's production company could or would cave in and let the JE fans leave. Perhaps the board was too much trouble for them once they found it getting out of hand. If they had really wanted to keep it around, even as a "debate" type of board, they could have had guidelines and moderators, similar to the ones here, who could have deleted posts they found rude or upsetting. Their board could have been something like our skeptical discussion folder, if they chose to go that route.

However, if they thought they were going to have a nice little discussion board where fans could post positive comments about the TV show, they were sadly mistaken. Maybe they didn't realize just what they were getting into with skeptics and cynics in abundance, just waiting for a forum to "spew their venom."

Perhaps it was not their intention to get into running a board which would require so much time and attention. After all, they are producing a major television show, as well.

They can't say they weren't warned. I was asked to provide some information about our own board, that was to be forwarded to USA Studios, which I did, including some strong comments about the need for moderation, because of the subject matter.

It's a shame they caved, instead of just moderating the board.

Thank you for your work here Pam. It isn't necessarily skeptics and cynics that create all the disruption on these boards but there are many people with serious mental problems that create disharmony as a means to feel they have power over others. I think the other board being shut down is just as well, big deal, now they can feel important. Thank you for providing us with this safe harbour, I personally don't have the energy to wade through the nonsense on any other board.

Thanks Amfie for answering that question for me...lol..I was counting letters, paying attention to which letters were missing-I thought it was a secret code!!! LMAO....
