You can all relate to this because you have been embarrassed by your parents at one point or another. I told myself I would never embarrass my children like that when I had kids.
- I lied.
I was at Toys R Us this weekend with the boys and we walked by a display of singing Hannah Montana dolls. Chris , my 13 year old, looked at me and I could see the look in his eye as he spotted them. I knew he was going to ask me if he could get one so he could do something evil to it.
All he was able to get out of his mouth was, "Mom! I want one of those"- I interrupted him and in a VERY stern and loud voice I said, "Chris, No! I am sorry but I have to put my foot down. I gave in when you wanted to paint your room pink but I am NOT letting you get a Hannah Montana doll!" At least three people turned around and looked at him... and the best part was he was speechless! (and very red!)
I don't think I have laughed that hard in a VERY long time. It was so worth it.
Score! Mom - 1 Chris - 0
