View Full Version : Back from Columbus
:jumper: Just got back from Columbus and it was sooooo fabulous! We got there at 11 and the doors opened at 12. I didn't see any t-shirts or roses or anything to identify anyone from here. Of course I don't know any of you to recognize you either.
John came out to a standing ovation! He gave pretty much the same begining talk that I just read about at the Kansas seminar but didn't go into the LKL thing and picking up Sandra. He did talk about how if a medium such as himself did know ahead about the attacks...who would believe them? He did also mention how this encourages him in his work and about the new taping with the firefighter coming thru as a "hero". He answered a question and then went to answer a question for a lady two rows in front of us and told her to put it on hold as her father-in-law was coming thru. He then proceeded to read her daughters boyfriend who had a friend who comitted suicide but it was an accidental suicide. John said that acutually it was a case of stupidity and the guy being read validated most everything said. He then did several more reading interspersed with questions and also some funny stories including a "bite me" one! He related the bathroom incident at the Kansas seminar so you didn't see too many people getting up to go. He of course had the usual difficult readings which seemed to be a matter of "psychic amnesia" that he always talks about and he would just look at them with that "look" and then everybody would just crack up!
It was my first seminar and my 3 daughters and I thouroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to go again. We didn't get read, (darn) but it was just the biggest rush to see him up close and watch him do exactly what we see him do on CO. How anyone could experience this man and not come away convinced he is the real deal is totaly beyond me. I believe my family members were there with us today but there were just too many others trying to get in at the same time.
The biggest disappointment for me was not connecting with any of you today. I would have loved to put faces with names.

Hi! Got to Columbus about 1:00 pm - walked right in and sat down near the audio guy. Bonnie and I met "chargeit2him" in the line for the books and tapes. We looked all over for others and saw no one with shirts.
Jumping ahead in time - afterward we went to the nearby Wendy's, as planned, and no shirts there either. However, at Wendy's we talked with the family from Toledo that got a reading. Those of you that were there - remember this is the one where the son owed his dad money! We talked to that son - he was blown away!
Bonnie and I did not get a reading - we didn't expect to. I came within seconds of getting a question asked - Jessie had me picked out, but, John went directly to a reading after one of the early questions.
I can't imagine ever fighting for a seat up front - one of the best readings took place on a guy wwwwaaaayyyy in the back against the wall. We were all in tears for him - he got the best validations and support for the life path he has chosen! Only one admonition regarding one sister he needs to stay in touch with.
Well, my curiosity is completely satisfied about John's stage presence and how he is able to work in such a large group. I won't need to go again to this type of venue, but, I recommend it for everyone - at least once.
We wish we could have met more of you - we followed the plan - apparently it was not supposed to be.
Make it a great day! Gob bless America!

I just learned about this board yesterday, I too was in Columbus and I have to say it was awesome! My hubby and I met some really great people...I just want to say hey to all the girls, Barb, Deb, Debbie, & Dawn!(I dont know if any of you are on the board but if you are drop me a line) The readings were great especially the guy in the far back...that for me I think was the best one! Although I didnt get a reading I recieved a few "signs" of my own once I got home!

Well, JE Friends, the last few of us are just getting home. The seminar was so great! And after the experience this weekend, I can say, from my heart, that the people who NEEDED to get the message, got it. There seemed to be a lot of really special / emotional messages that came through yesterday from children, and others that crossed under rather traumatic circumstances. To be able to sit back and just observe the process gave me a real depth of understanding about how the process works.
I'm sure others will remember different readings. I'll just tell you about a couple that struck me. A young child (about 6 y/o, I think) that died of cancer. There were many very strong validations for the parents who were overwhelmed by the fact that their angel came through. John talked about a party recently given. It turned out that the child's 4th grade class had done a memorial for their schoolmate and the child's mother went to see it just about a month ago.
Then John received a very strong message from someone's dog. He states that he usually doesn't get this kind of message from a pet. But he could see this particular pet "throwing in the towel", meaning he was "ready" to cross. It was very intense and you could tell it really got to John. And of course there were a few of us that thought about our wonderful pets that have crossed over (Kate was just sitting there letting the tears come). Others will hopefully remember and share more details about this reading.
Psyquestor and I have talked about being "Jerry's kids". We e-mail each other and have signed off as "Jerry's kid". John did this reading about a father figure that had passed with a "G" or "J". Both our dads were named Gerald / Jerry. We knew it wasn't for us as it was way up in the front and we were pretty far back. But John talked about the father figure and about the third month / day being significant (My dad's youngest grandchild was born March 17, Psyquestor found a validation in that too). But then John said the words, "Jerry's kids", thinking about someone that might have had muscular dystrophy (Jerry Lewis's charity). Psyquestor and I both had to pick our teeth up off the floor. It was so cool, even though it wasn't for us, we both felt our dads very close by.
But I am here to tell you that as great as it was to see John, the ultimate rush of this weekend was spending time getting to know a few of the wonderful women that work so hard to manage this board and give the rest of us a place to call "home". Ceceoh was our host. She lives in Columbus and drove back and forth and back and forth to be with us. She showed us a great time in a wonderful city. Amfie, drove in from home about 160 miles away and provided shuttle service (along with our host) and is so warm and fun. Psyquestor, bless her heart, made a long journey to be with us. We had to keep reminding her that no swinging from the chandaliers was allowed in the bar.
Scrambled has a heart as big as the United States of America. She' s a person you meet for the first time and feel like you've known forever. It was the same feeling I had for all these wonderful, lovely ladies. On line "relationships" can have certain elements of "risk", for lack of better words. Sometimes people can be different in person than they seem on line. Sometimes written communication can be one-dimensional in that you can't look a person in the eyes or listen to the clues in their voice to clearly get the true meaning of what they're trying to say. But these friends of mine are FOR REAL and I just felt truly blessed!
Laura, we missed you so much. Know that you were with us every minute.
And Pam Blizzard...there are no words to describe her kindness and generosity and all that she gives to each of us individually and collectively as a group. She gives new meaning to the word community.
I thank you all for being part of my "circle".
Love to ((( all of you ))),
Kate

I just found this board today. *Hello!*
I too was able to attend the show last night. My fiance' came in from Alexandria, VA.... and I came in from Cleveland, OH.
I have watched John's shows for a while now, and my fiance' hasn't personally seen them, but has a history of psychic family backgrounds, and shares an interest. He was completely amazed. I have a background of spiritual healing (Reiki Master), and randomly have psychic abilities that I am still trying to organize and develop personally. I was hoing to ask John more about his thoughts on Reiki, and maybe if he had some answers for me.... maybe next time.
We both really enjoyed the show. There was an overwhelming group of people... and I was quite impressed.
I was not personally read either, but I do feel that the people who were read, truly needed their messages more.
I truly hope the guest who needed a doctor was okay, and those that received their readings are content.
I look forward to attending another show in the future. Until then, blessings to all of you....

For those of you that attended the Columbus seminar, it was very close to the end when someone came in the room and yelled out for a doctor. I was sitting close to the back of the room. A couple of us that were nurses went out to see if we could help. A kid was going down the escalator and got his little foot caught in the moving stairs. By the time I got there, a doctor was attending and they had already called the paramedics. So, the good news is that they had things under control in record time. You weren't able to exit on that escalator because they were waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
His foot got pretty messed up, but thank God, it wasn't more serious.

Ah! Can't wait to hear all the reads as you all have time. Although it's not quite as good as being there, if I close my eyes, I can almost imagine it. :)

No not this time.I think I went with high hopes only to get disappointed.:( Hubby said if he comes around again this way we will go again. My sister said she wants to go also. Just waiting to see where he will be again. Does anybody know. Or has he decided to take a much deserved break. Just in case anyone who was there and heard some tickets came up missing, Yes, it was us...just glad we found them

Here's my trip, it's *really* long with boring details but I wanted to type it up as a memory. You guys included the readings I remeber so I won't go into those.
The whole trip had been planned perfectly. I didn't want anything to go wrong on the way. And since it takes around 4 hours to get to Columbus from where I live in Kentucky, I was leaving at 6am, no doubt about it. I just had to be up front, so I had to get there early. I know it doesn't make you more likely to get a reading, I didn't expect to get one anyway, I don't feel as if I need one, as I knew a lot of people who would be there do. Last year in October I went to Columbus with my boyfriend and parents for something to do with my modeling career, and it was actually in the same hotel, in the same room. Perhaps it was a heads-up for this trip, since I was driving and, being 19, I had never even drove out of my state. My boyfriend, Chris, was going with me, not really a beliver of JE and his message, but supported my beliefs.
I was so nervous that I would unconsciously shut my alarm off at 4am (as I often do) and would be late, that I woke up at 3:30. I tried to get back to sleep so I wouldn't be so tired, and awoke at the snooze alarm at 4:09. Guess I did shut it off once. But anyway, I got ready at left about 6:15. I was expecting it to be a little light outside, but when I back out of the garage it was still pitch black and there were stars in the sky. I got to Chris' and we were on the road at 6:30. I had packed chips and drinks and candy for our trip, and we brought 3 maps. I thought of a question I could ask on the way, just so I could get to talk to him. We watched the sun come up, and went over about 3 bridges that had peculiar giant white clouds of fog under them. We didn't have any trouble getting there. It was very cold outside walking to the hotel after we parked. I was sporting my CAV cross-stitch pin I had made and a big pink rose on my purse. We got inside and in line about 10 'til 10am. Earlier then expected. I was surprised by how many people were already there. I thought I'd have to settle for second row. As more and more arrived, they formed a maze of people so there would be room and it would be a little more orderly. At noon they finally opened the doors and let everyone in. We did get front row, on the right end of the middle section. I liked my seat, I was very excited. But as time slowly went by, I took a short nap. We went up to see what they were selling, and I wanted the casette tapes of Developing Your Own Psychic Powers, but that would have left me with just $6 for gas for our trip home. I had the books so I got a pink rose pin.
Finally, 2pm rolled around and John was introduced. First, let me tell you I'm very emotional. When he walked out from the doors infront of me, I had to fight very hard not to cry. I'm such a huge fan and I think he's an amazing person, he's had a big impact on my life. I stood up and clapped, trying to stay calm. At that point I didn't think I'd be able to ask a question. He talked a while and after about 10 minutes I was okay. Then it just felt so normal and comforting. First he answered a question, and the second person that started to ask something, he did a reading on. I can't really remember how many readings he did, but there was a lot of amazing validations and touching things said. At one point he was standing to my side talking to someone in the back, he was so close I could have reached out and poked him. I restrained myself though, hehe. He looked so normal and average, I guess I was expecting... I don't know, for him to glow or something, LoL. But don't get me wrong, he looked great. He did a lot of readings in the balcony and throughout the room. I heard someone say there were 2200 people there, but I'm not for sure. Close to the end someone came in asking if there was a doctor in the house. John announced it over the microphone and a few people left. Thanks Kate, for saying what that was about, I was really interested. There were going to be a couple more questions asked so I raised my hand. The man he chose in the balcony asked almost the same question I had, and in John's reply he answered mine completely. So that was good since it was unlikely he'd choose me anyway, but yet I didn't get to talk to him. There were of course, no camaras aloud since they would mess up the energy, but at the end when he was walking out the door I snapped a picture, I didn't think it would matter then. It felt like it went by so fast, but it was awesome.
The drive home seemed long, and we watched the sun set just as we had watched it rise. After we got about half way there, I could barely stay awake. But when we finally got to his road, Chris asked if I would go back if I could see JE again. Gimme a little caffiene and I would have went even farther. That night as I lay in bed, just before midnight, I thought Crossing Over had came on at 8, just as every Sunday, but I turned on Sci-Fi just incase and it was actually on. I didn't know about the time-change. He looked so different, too made-up I guess. I like him better in person. I fell asleep very sad that it was over. Chris called late the next morning and yet I still fell back asleep. And then I dreamed about John. I went back to Columbus with a woman my mom had just met. On the way I found out it was his wife. When we got there it was early and I was the only one in the room. He walked inside with a big coat on, carrying some books and didn't see me at first. 'John?' I said and he turned around. We talked awhile, it was very interesting. And then I woke up to the phone ringing. It was a friend that my mom works with. She was on her way home and said she just had to call. Mom had told her we went and she was so excited about it. She likes John too and totally believes in his message. She said she only has one friend to talk to about it and that she has had visits from her husbands mother that died before they met. Anyway, she's going to borrow my JE books and it's just great because I don't know anyone else that likes JE.
Getting back to the trip, it was just amazing! But I didn't get to talk to anyone from here, nor did I make it to Wendys which sucked. But I'd go watch John talk everyday if I could. I'm sad that it's over and don't have it to look forward to anymore, but I'm so happy that I actually got the chance to see him. Two thumbs up, I love ya John!

Krissy, I looked for your patch; but with 2200 people in the room it was difficult :( I wish we could have met more JE Friends. I didn't have on a tee shirt, just one heck of a grin. I heard one person mention JE Friends, and that they didn't see any tees. Unfortunately it was coming from a group, and though I stood there for awhile trying to figure out who said it; I couldn't tell.
We did meet Taco Mom; and her family; but didn't see anyone else. We knew that Taco's Mom was in a wheel chair, and had that to go by.
I'm happy everyone had a good seminar, it was a wonderful experience for me. I loved spending time with Pam, Cyndy, Kate, Cece and Amfie :D Next time I'll have to wear a tee so you can find me easier; you can never have too many friends :)

Just a curious thought...... (my apologies if this is an off topic posting)
As I mentioned yesterday in my post... I never knew of this board... or any of you.... but I cant help but wonder if maybe I did speak to your friend TacoMom briefly.....
My fiance and I arrived a few minutes late. We entered through the back entrance doors... and proceded down the left wall about half way up. We found two end chairs and brought them together. When we left, we thought it would be easier to avoid the accident scene, and leave by going through the doors at the front left of the stage. There was a woman with what looked like her mother that exited the same door, but was a bit confused looking when there were only stairs there. I pointed out the direction of the elevators to her.
It was brief... but maybe our paths crossed.
I wore a black dress and matching jacket.... my fiance is bald... and you cant miss him. *grins*
Brightest Blessings...
Kathryn

Sandy, it was nice to meet you at Columbus!! I also had a me too experience. The ladies next to me were getting a reading and he said something about Miss Piggy, or Muppet Babies, and it being "like stuck on there".....they couldn't validate that, even once it was over. Well, in our bathroom there has been a Muppets sticker (with Miss Piggy) ever since I was a kid. I was wondering if that was my grandfather trying to butt-in, but I didn't want to be a relative stealer!! Anyways, next time maybe!! I was just really hoping to hear from him again!! If you hear of any more tours in the area, please let me know.....Krissy, I think I saw you.....were you sitting on an end seat? What do you look like? I saw a young girl in an end seat with a CAV pin on. Was that you? God Bless!! Amy

Yep Amy, that was probably me. I was in the next to last seat on the right side of the middle section... did that make sense? :hmm: My bf was in the last seat. I have long dark blonde hair and I had on a blue shirt/black pants. If they have any more seminars around there, or a little south, I'll be there.

Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to share a little about the Ohio seminar. Had a wonderful time to say the least. Meeting up with members from here again was great and meeting new people is always a blessing. The room was packed and full of energy! Jesse gave his usual enthusiastic speech to the crowd and then introduced John. Everyone welcomed him to a standing ovation and open arms. He proceeded to tell his stories, answer questions and went right into readings.
Since a few of the readings were already mentioned I will tell one of a gentleman who was in the back, standing. This one had many in tears, for he broke down also. His mother and father came through and he basically took care of his mother (like a daughter) before she passed. JE said that your mother is extending a hug to you, so here is a hug from your mom. JE went on to say that they know that he is disassociated with his family and that they are alright with that, and that is his choice and that is fine. They also mentioned that if he should connect with anyone in the family to connect with a sister/in-law.
There were other validations in between that included his father. His father came from a large family, and that he acknowledged following in his footsteps (so to speak). Towards the end of the reading, (this was pretty neat), JE said that he was being pulled towards the front, which he found to be interesting and asked the guy if he had any family members or knew of anyone here? The guy said no. After a few validations to a woman up front, and comparisons, it turned out that his father sang in a band/group and the woman's father sang in a band/group. They each said the name of the group (different ones) and for both of them it was a country music band/group. I believe that their father's had similar names also? Johnson - John?? But not related. This reading, like many, was very touching. There were a good amount of readings, and you know JE, he will stick with the person until they get something. All in all, in was great day. The specific validations that John comes through with are astonishing.
Thank you all for sharing!
I just want to add a special validation to Pam, Tammy, Ann Marie, Carol and Kate for making my weekend so very special. It was so nice to see you all again and Kate, I thank you for the kind words and the feeling is mutual my friend. The time we had was well spent and very much needed!! I enjoyed every single minute with all of you. These past few days will stay with me forever. I am glad that everyone made it home safe and sound.
Love to you all, Cyndy
(PS) When are we doing again?!?!?!

My husband & I were also at the seminar in Columbus. This was our second time seeing him, unfortunately, we didn't get read, but just being in his presence is an awesome experience.
We were the first to get in line (6:30am), we met lots of nice people in line, 2 from Cleveland, her sister from California, and a few from NY, Lisa & Laurie.
Hopefully, next time we will be able to be read. Does anyone know if he'll be doing another retreat?

I think I saw you! Are you the one that the security guard had with him when he announced that someone was missing tickets and then they were found in the car? I saw you several times that day. I was there with my 3 daughters and I had on a navy sweater with a star and a half moon design on it and a rose pin.

I was in Columbus too!! I was sitting two rows in front of the lady you commented about!!! I also went to Indiannapolas to see John. The crowd was much larger there!!! Seeing him in person makes in more real!! Makes you realize nothing in going on behind the camera!!! I also saw no T-shirts like I saw when I went to Indiana. The seminar was great. I may go to another!!
I am determined to get a read. I do disagree that people don't need him like he says. I surley don't have the gift he has. If people didn't need him. The seminars would not be sold out which many of them are. I encourage anybody to go see John.
It is very interesting to see the process in person!! Even if you don't get a reading you will get something out of it.

yes nana that was me with the security guard. Talk about embarrassing moments. I kept teasing hubby that if mom was going to come through she wouldn't pass up a moment to get him. Guess she figured he was in enough trouble. I did think he was coming to us when he mentioned the margaret person passing in an impact. Mother in law passed in a car accident.
by the way did anyone find out what happened with the escelator. I heard that a child had gotten caught in the steps. Hope he/she is ok.

Hi Amy, I'm Lou Sandy's son. I was hoping to hear from a list of people that extended from friends to family. Towards the end John had said a Maggie or Margaret was coming through that had past from an impact. My mom, sister, and dad thought for sure that it might have been my grandmother who we lost in April 96'. I was very disapppointed because there were 2 instants where I actually think I knew what was hapening the night before in a dream. My grandmother's accident with her friend and s friend was killed in a fire the same year as my grandmother's death. My dad had told my mom we'll go to one closer to us, but we aren't going to be going far again because of our overnight stay.

Ok, I am brand new to this board and I see that JE was in Columbus? Columbus Ohio?? If so, I am so dissapointed in myself for missing it...
Where was it? How much is it to go? Where is the calander of his events on this site? How hard is it to attend the gallery sittings???
A thousand questions!
Thanks in advance,

Monica, he was in Columbus on October 7th. It wasn't advertised locally. Shoot, it sold out within days of being announced. And it was not written up in any of the local papers after the event, either. (BOOOOOOO!!!) It was held at the Columbus Convention Center and there were about 1500 people in the audience.
Keep checking our calendar at the top of this page. Can't see him coming back to Ohio soon, since he's covered all the major cities, but maybe Huntingon, WV? or Kentucky? Who knows? Keep watching.
