Okay here goes my experience:
John Edward has always fascinated me. I heard him on WPLJ a number of times and was very moved by what I would hear when John was giving a reading.
My son, Brian, heard about a special documentary on a medium (John) that was on one of the cable channels and like myself, was intrigued. We found out when it was going to be on. When we sat down to watch the show, I realized that this was the same man I was listening to on the radio. So not only did I learn about John, I finally got the chance to see how handsome he is!
I have always been curious about psychics and mediums. I have had a number of readings by psychics and have always had fun with the information. I never let it run my life. I record the info that is given to me in my head and if something happens that is linked to what I have been told, I’m in awe and amazed.
At the end of the show, it mentioned that John was going to be on cable and tickets would be available if you called in. The show was on a Sunday night and the next day I went into work and called. I left a message thinking I would never get a call back, I wouldn’t be that lucky.
Two days after, on a Wednesday morning, I received a phone call from John’s staff and was so excited I wanted to go to the Gallery that afternoon!
I asked for six tickets for August 14, 2000. My husband Brenden, sister and a friend came along. I couldn’t get anyone else to come with us (can you believe that!). When we got to the studios, Brenden, being the skeptic that he is, made us promise not to discuss anything about our families to anyone, including each other, which we did. When we got into the waiting room, a couple in front of us realized they had forgotten their tickets. I said I had two extra tickets so they could come in with my family. I do not remember but I think we just introduced ourselves and that was it.
We’re all seated in the Gallery and I did exactly what John’s staff told me to do – go in without any expectations. I was excited and tried to have an open mind. John comes out and tells everyone he is ready to begin. He starts off with – “People came in together but are strangers to one another. You met for the very first time today” - we were the first people he read! How incredible is that?
The experience in the Gallery was something I will never forget. Not only because I had the opportunity to be read by John but that he taught me something so valuable that day and opened a door for me that I never thought existed. You see my experience didn’t begin until after I left the Gallery.
On August 14th a number people came through for my family and myself. Two very important people for me and one of them came for my sister. For me, my Uncle Billy came through. Billy was a father figure for me while growing up and helped me through some very rough times in my life especially what he validated through John – having difficulty reading when I was younger. Billy is still helping me.
I have a sister, Sandra, who crossed over when she was two from a brain tumor. My parents, John & Ida, to this day are not the same. I was only 8 when this happened. I’m 39 today. It’s been a long time. Sandy came through for my sister. But she has been with me ever since that day. John taught me how to communicate with Sandy.
The following Saturday, when I was at home by myself, I had a nice talk with Sandy. I asked her to give me a sign that let me know when she is around me but especially when I was with our Mom. I remember John telling us that day in the Gallery and in his book, One Last Time, to let the sign come to you. I let Sandy pick the sign. Sandy gave me butterflies. I told her that when I was around our Mom, she had to show me butterflies, not one but many of them. I went outside to throw out the garbage and a small butterfly followed me out to the trash. I told Sandy good try but I knew she could do better. I never told anyone about this pact that we made.
Two weeks later, my husband and I went on vacation with my parents, my sister and her children. Here’s what happened:
- On a sight seeing tour my 6-year-old nephew tells me – “Aunt Anna, those butterflies over there said to say hi to you”. When I looked out the window there where two butterflies flying around one another.
- I was walking with my Mom through a glass/houseware store. We were talking and not paying attention much to what was going on. We stopped in between two Christmas trees. First I noticed them because it’s the end of August and the store had Christmas trees out already. I thought they were rushing it just a bit. But then I noticed something unusual about these trees – every branch on both trees had a butterfly ornament on it! Sandy came through just like I asked!
I was so excited and touched I left the store crying. I then told my husband and he couldn’t believe it. I actually made him go back in the store to make sure I didn’t imagine anything. The next day I finally told my Mom and we cried together.
Since then I have found so many things relating to Sandy so easy to handle. I am now comfortable with doing things, like going to the cemetery, speaking to her every day, and receiving her hello whenever I see a butterfly (it has happened a number of times since and also to close family members).
Crossing Over called us for a follow up visit that Brenden and I taped the last week of June and its has not yet aired (we're waiting - impatiently because it was such a positive experience). I went to my Mom for pictures because she has all of the pictures. Mom is the Picture Keeper of the family. I picked one of Sandy and myself. It was taken when I was about seven and Sandy almost two. When the show airs take notice of the pattern on my dress if you can – I am wearing butterflies.
Regards and all my love, Anna
