View Full Version : Member's Book List
In this thread, "What's it like on the other side" (http://www.johnedwardtalk.org/showthread.php?threadid=1816) it was suggested that we get a book list going.
I'm putting together a form on the JohnEdwardFriends.org website, where you can enter your own suggestions for the list, and add a review of the book.
Here's the information that I'm going to collect:
Title, Author(s)
Link to Amazon for Publication Information (ISBN, publisher, publish date, etc.)
Type: Psychic, Spiritual, ADC, Scientific, Fiction
Submitted by: (your name)
Review comments: (others can come along and add comments too, but not to take the place of discussion of the book here.)
If you have any other ideas for what kind of information you'd like to see on the list, please add your suggestion here. Thank you!

Thank you Pam, I love this idea! I am really interested what books all of you like or dislike. Especially since I have an ever growing collection, that isn't quite finished yet LOL.
Could we add a rating system for each book? Like a poll type of thing, where the first field is :star: and the second is :star: :star: up to five stars? The reason being that not all of us are eloquent writers and would be nervous of adding our written opinion to the synopsis / reviews.
What do you think?
There's no place like http://www.johnedwardtalk.org/images/top_home.gif (http://www.johnedwardtalk.org)
Most excellent idea, will do the 1-5 :star: rating system :)

You better leave lots of room because I have dozens and dozens to list!! :laff:
Ann (getting a pen to go write down all the tiles - oh, and then I'll have to link them to amazon or barnes&noble -- hmmmmm )

Ann, no worries :D
Just go to the book listing on Amazon, and copy and paste to word pad, or write down the link. The address will be on your address bar at the top of the page.
For example, you can find Hello From Heaven at
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0553576348/ref=bxgy_sr_img_a/102-6697850-9750551
If you need any help, just holler :o

I'll do the links, because I want to get pictures of the books anyway. :)

Oh my gosh - FOUR Anns now!! ... AnnM, me, Ann Marie, and now Anne with an E. :laff:
And I know what you mean about yet aNOTHER book case! But it's not my fault - it's hereditary. Really. When we helped my mother move from Michigan to Louisiana my husband conservatively estimated that he carried 4-500 pounds of books to the U-haul. So ya see, I'm just an innocent victim, responding to the irrisistable call of my ancestoral genes.
I wonder if there is a Book-collector's Annonymous club anywhere... Once this book listing of ours takes off we could ask Pam to add another room to the forums page; main community, study group, and Bleary Eyed Bookworms!! :laff: :laff: :laff:
AnnToo!
Ok, I put up TWO new pages:
Suggest a book form:
http://www.johnedwardfriends.org/resources/bookadd.shtml
Fill out the form and it gets emailed to me, and I then get the links, graphic and post in on THE list:
http://www.johnedwardfriends.org/resources/booklist.shtml
Please go ahead and start using it, and we'll "tweak" it as it goes. Please give any suggestions about the form, layout of the list, etc. etc.

Hi Ann,
Actually, my "real" name is Annemarie.......Anne is just easier sometimes. The book thing must come with the name/genes though. My family is also a bunch of "bookworms," and a room in my parents basement is know as "the library".......I am now starting my own (unintentionally).
Hope to be sharing good books with you soon...

Anne with an E/AnneMarie ... at least it rhymes! :laff:
Thanks for the form, Pam. I'll get right on my list. I would have posted tonight but I have to word my "review/comments". But you'll be hearing from me soon! :)
g'night ~ Ann2/3/4..
(say Anne - did you hear that I'm starting a decoding list? It has handles on one side and birth names on the other! :))

Wonderful Pam
I love it and I can't wait to add my two cents! This is my chance to make all those books pay off. I've been accumulating them over the years, and I have this need to justify the expense. For example, I bought a book about symbolism and 'justified' it when Flora wanted symbolism for robins.
You are allowing me to justify the rest...
Thank you Pam!

Just wanted to pop in and say that the sight for the books looks great. I love the idea. Just hope people put up books they bought and perhaps were not that thrilled with. It would be good to know so we don't go and buy something that may be a waste of time and money. Just a thought. :D

did you hear that I'm starting a decoding list? It has handles on one side and birth names on the other!On... the other side? :scared:
Which actually brings a question to mind: has JE ever gotten a screen name during a reading? Like "Does Fred587 mean anything to you?"
Only a matter of time. :)

I thought this might be a god place to ask. Has anyone heard
of an author, who I believe is a scientest, named Louis LeGrande?
He has written a book compiling ADC's he has researched. Just
tonight I caught part of an interview with him where he profiled
three cases from his book. Very unique, fascinating experiences.
I did not catch the name of the book. Did a quick net search on his
name but found nothing. I may have misspelled it. I hope to find
it, it sounds like a very interesting read.

Found it, Julie! (I am the Queen o' Search! Woo-Hoo :king: ) It's called AFTER DEATH COMMUNICATION: Final Farewells by Louis E Legrand, Ph.D. Here's a review where I found the info, in case you're interested.
http://www.napra.com/book-rev.asp?ReviewID=1326
Two things that I'd like to make everyone aware of:
* Where the book is available in Cassette form, I'm adding that link too (Excellent on long drives in the car, but NOT for meditations!)
* Amazon has a great new feature, where many of these books that I'm putting up has around 20 pages that you can view, including table of contents and some of the chapter contents. Really helps in the buying decision.
* And yes, please include books that you were NOT thrilled with too, and what you expected that you didn't get.
*Even if you don't have time to write a review, send me the book anyway, and you can either write the review later, or let someone else write it.
Thanks!

Ceceoh,
Oh my, you ARE the queen of search! I bow before you! Thanks
so much. Really interested in seeing reviews. He was quite impre-
ssive.
Julie
The book list now has a main menu page that allows you to:
Add a book
View the books
Search the book list only (not the rest of the site)
