I'm not sure this is the appropriate folder for this. On our local news last night there was a human interest story that I found very touching. A woman who looked to be in her early 50's told about how she and her father had enjoyed always enjoyed music. When she was 18 her father decided he would make a dulcimer. He worked on it learning as he went. When he was finished with it, he was very proud of his accomplishment. However, being a know-it-all 18 year old, she told him he had done it all wrong. She really never tried to play it.
The father died in 1987. The woman said the earlier this year she started thinking about dulcimers again. She decided she'd like to own one. So, she did an internet search. Most of the ones she found were more expensive than she could afford. Finally she found a flea market site that had one listed for $49.99. The picture was not a very good quality. But, she decided to take a chance. The box arrived at her home this week. She opened it not knowing what she would find. As she pulled the instrument from the box, she recognized it as the one her father had made all those years ago.
