My husband's mother Linda, her husband, and her other son visited us for Christmas this year, to help welcome Zach home.

On Christmas evening after dinner, Linda called back to the east coast, to talk to her daughter, (Jeff's sister) and her other grandson, Dylan, who is 4.5 years old. Dylan and his parents attend mass every weekend, since his birth. Here's how the conversation went:

Linda: Dylan, did you thank Santa Claus for all your wonderful gifts?

Dylan: No, Bobby (his name for her) I don't know Santa's phone number!

Linda: Well, ask your parents for Santa's phone number!

Dylan: Oh Bobby - my parents don't know Santa Claus's phone number. Santa doesn't talk to parents, he only talks to kids!!!

Bobby: Ohhhhh....ok....well did you thank Jesus then?

Dylan: Why should I thank Jesus, he didn't leave me any presents under the tree?

Linda:  (speechless)

My mother-in-law went on to have the appropriate conversation about why he ought to thank Jesus, it being Christmas and all.

Dylan promised his Bobby he would thank Jesus that evening at bedtime prayers. :D

Way to go Bobby :D Gosh I just love that nickname; someday you simply must tell us how that ever came about.

Happy Holidays Zach & Dylan :santa:

To be honest, she cultivated it herself with him. It was her first grandchild, and she was a bit too vain to be called "grandma" ;)
