I checked out ebay, looking for tickets to the Las Vegas seminar. There are two offered- current price $160- by "<name edited out by moderator>", of Salt Lake City. This appears to be the same ""<name edited out by moderator>" registered on this forum. If it is, Shame on you!

I viewed the eBay sale and compared email addresses. You are correct :(
The member's rights to this board have been revoked.

This is just awful. Anyone who would exploit people like that should indeed be ashamed. Thanks for bringing into the spotlight, and revoking the party's privledges.

Tickets to Boston are almost $400 at EBay.
Why is this allowed on line? If I stood outside a concert and tried to sell tickets for inflated prices, I would be arrested.
I luckily have my Boston tickets already. Thanks to this handy dandy site. If for any reason I find I can not go in April, I don't think I could ever make money off them.
Its not just the tickets that make me mad. Its all of it. the pins, the ESP cards, at least the milk truck was creative.

Very sad indeed. But then there's always the "more disgusting" things to be found, and today for me it was the people selling tickets AND a book, kind of skirting the law.....

It's disappointing that a member here would do something like that after all the discussions we've had about this subject. While I kind of feel sorry that this person had to be taught a hard lesson, I'm also thankful that Pam is protecting us here from people that use this site to take advantage - of us members and also of JE.
I wonder if that person here who made such a bad lapse of judgement will find the profit worthwhile in the end. In my mind there ain't no price that can be put on having the friendships I've developed here and the comfort I find within these boards.

After discussing offenders with management on Ebay...the loop hole they are using is as such. Because the event is listed as a "seminar" scalping laws in most states don't apply. They are made to apply to entertainment venues only. sigh.....

Any chance we could make someone affiliated with JE aware of this loop hole?
It's my understanding by removing the word "seminar" state laws would almost always apply.
Yes, but it just depends on who gets your complaint. Some Ebay support people will close the sale, but others write back about the word seminar, or say that they can't take my word that the face value of the ticket is 45.00 :( Even when I send them the URL from John's site.
They do not have one policy that is applied, across the board.
I also wonder what your chances of getting a reading are, if you particapte in scalping? Karma - what comes around, goes around.

Ah yes, but I read one of the descriptions of the ticlets for sale on ebay. It stated "face value $45".

We'll have to help John come up with a name other than seminar.
And if the laws are going to read that way, then I just may have to deduct the price of all my "seminars" from my taxes

Don't despair! With all the bad feelings "the scalper" has caused, it is nice to know this website also has people like the one who not only just agreed to sell me her Las Vegas tickets at cost- she didn't want to charge me the $25 handling fee she paid! Please send her some positive thoughts, as illness is keeping her from the show.

Hi Sussan!
Thank you for catching that on ebay and bringing this to our attention about the member from here.
Prayers and get well wishes going out to the person who sold you the tics. Have a nice time at the seminar!
