Okay, I was hoping someone else would start a thread, but nobody did. I hope I'm allowed to post this here. Did anyone catch the Pet Pyschic lady last night? My son and I laughed and laughed. I'm not saying I don't believe her, but all I could think was the skeptics are going to have a field day with this one. It really was quite a take off of Crossing Over, only the "guests" being read couldn't talk. Especially the duck. Oh my God!!! Was I the only cook watching this?

I watched it. Kept picturing that English dog training lady that they use to have on PBS, saying "Walkies! Walkies!"

Nobody believes more than I that animals have spirits that cross over, but this lady wasn't exactly coming through with any "wow" validations.

I mean come on, the poodle slept on the bed? Name a poodle that DOESN'T sleep on the bed!

Well, I had planned to watch that show, & had forgotten about it, but I see I didn't miss a whole lot! I had one experience with a pet communicator, when I was going on vacation had to leave my kids" at home with someone staying here with them. I was absolutely not convinced that she conversed with them. No John Edward were they! Like they say, when you find a good shrink, a good doctor, or a good psychic, dont let them go!

i haven't been to this site in a long time...computer problems and a major keyboard problem! my english bulldog puppy chewed the cord to my keyboard into about 6 pcs, along with several other cords! i briefly thought about "crossing him over"! just kidding - he's just a baby with these brand new big dog teeth...gotta do something with them i guess. anyway, i saw part of the show...i just couldn't do it. prior to this show i also happened to have seen another show about pets and their physic abilities and it had a short segment on her. apparently the producers of the show set up an experiment with a veterinary clinic where they asked several vets to photograph several of their patients (i want to say there were 7, but i am not sure)with known histories of health problems and sent the photos to this woman for a reading. it was really kind of embarrassing because the vets expressed a open-minded attitude toward the experiment and even talked about the difficulty of diagnosis in patients that can't talk. the segment showed the vets gathered at a conference room table to go over the results, files and all. they went over each patient, there was not even one reading that was remotely close to the history of the patient's care. there just wasn't anything there to discuss. i still think about that segment sometimes because the show didn't give any indication they had set out to prove her wrong, in fact i was expecting something to come out of it, but there was just nothing there...i was left with a weird feeling of "oh well..." i think she needs to keep her day job. the animal planet show pretty much cleared up any doubts i may have had. i really don't like criticizing what people do, but i really don't care much for her adding to the "miss cleo" school of thought. i also don't think it helps much with what i believe john is trying to do. :)

I saw the show once when it first aired and have not seen anything
about it since...I thought it probably got laughed off the air.
The lady did come up with some insights which were of
value and validatable ...but she had the 'baby-talk' thing
going and the dogs all said "I'm a good boy!" "I travel
well in the car; take me in the car more!" "I'm good
with kids"...etc. I told people at work about it and they
laughed themselves silly...especially about the Iguana
with the numb toes who wanted to be up higher than
the cage would allow him to go. A comedien once said
she did not WANT to know what her dog was thinking.
We have a routine at work reading the dog's mind and
all it says is "Throw the ball; throw the ball, throw the ball"
On the other hand, John brought up at Jax that Sandra
told him she had seen the show and it was a must-see
for him. (He had not actually seen the show...the comment
was in response a question about how pets communicate
to him from the other side and how getting his dogs opened
that door for him to become "Dr. Dolittle")

i wanted so much for her to be another "john"! oh well...my only disapointment with john's readings is that it seems to always be "they have the dog w/them" or "the dog is there" or "i hear a dog barking". i would be one of those who threw a fit because all these stupid people came thru and i just wanted to hear from my dogs! might even be the first person he throws out for being too stupid! really, i am kidding....but i have thought about who i need to "think" about that might bring "tuffy" and "bear dog" thru for me. but then i think if john said "i hear a dog barking" i would have to choke him...just kidding, again...but i think ya'll know what i mean...i am really not a psychotic killer. all and all there may be a reason i haven't gotten to go yet...that and i can't remember to call the first sat of the month...i am hopeless - i know...but i really do love john and what he is doing-he has added so much to my life with his messages!
love ya'll :D

WEll, yes, I agree with what most of you said. I also want to see more in order to better judge what she's about. However, I can't find her any more. Maybe the folks who sponsored her show feel the same way you do. ;)

Actually, John mentioned this show at the workshop.........said he was thinking about going on as a guest.......but don't think he's caught the show yet. But I do believe he said he'd even placed a phone call about going on and just hadn't heard back yet.

apparently the pet psychic is coming back, i have seen the new commercials for her new "season". i have a real hard time buying her story, i think ya'll may be right, a lot of the problem may be that accent and the "doggie" talk. i also think john is a tough act to follow! i have a question, the new commercial shows her and a horse and she says the horse "thinks he may have been going for horse meat". now, i can buy the horse would probably sense he was in a very bad killing place, i am sure the smell of the slaughter is all around the place, but i have a hard time with the horse having any concept of being killed for horse meat. does that make sense? i am also a little skeptical that a horse can "cry a tear". i just don't know what kind of a concept any animal has really. which goes back to i wish the pets in john's readings could teach us more. i know that is not the point of the show and would be way "off topic", but i still wish there was a way to know more....thanks for listening...dusky

"i have a hard time with the horse having any concept of being killed for horse meat. does that make sense? i am also a little skeptical that a horse can "cry a tear""

If taken literally, yes. But consider this. If animal are psychic - being able to connect with the human mind in visual images, emotions and such, wouldn't there be a possibility of the horse seeing his owner's mind and possibly picking up on the owner's images of the slaughter house, etc?

As far as tears go, I don't know about horses and tears. But I do know about dogs and tears. I've seen my dogs cry twice that I remember - once when Bear was so happy to see me after being gone for so long and another time out of sheer joy at being near. Her eyes actually watered up both times. So maybe horses, too?

I can remember when I was in high school, (back when poodle skirts & cinch belts were in). We had just moved into our new home about a week before, & my uncle crossed over. My Heinz 57 dog went over to my aunt, who my parents were feeding straight scotch- put her head on my aunts knee, & looked at her, tears coming down her face. It was astounding to see such a demonstration of comfort and sympathy.

Tonite, I have been having trouble going to sleep, so decided to listen to one of John's tapes. Although I have had dogs all my life, I have never had an animal with whom I have ever felt such an incredible connectedness to as my present 2 1/2 y.o. Rottweiller. I must add, I didn't even plan on getting him; when we went to see him, I thought it was supposed to be another type dog. Normally, at this obnoxious hour he retires upstairs in his own bed when we go to bed, however for some reason, he remained laying on the cool kitchen floor. I was in my meditation/hypno-room. I picked up the Angels & Guides tape, thinking I'd like to get to know my animal guide, and wondering if this was the tape for me to hear tonite. Suddenly, from the kitchen, I hear the low wail of a wolf.... and again..... so I went in there & reassured him that everything is OK, I'd listen to that one. He was fine & went right back to sleep! It was definitely wierd. Boomer does not act like that normally. Another old shepherd I had adopted surprised me there.

I saw the show for the first time yesterday -- well, as much as I could muster, which was about 6 minutes. The first thing that struck me was the show's intro trying to sound like CO.

..."As a young girl...." (blah, blah, blah)

Interesting how she stopped doing it since she was 8 or something, and then decided to "get back into it" again.

Absolute garbage and an insult to JE. It made me quite mad really. I love Animal Planet, but putting this lady on the air has brought them down a notch in my book.

since reading the posts on this topic, i have become aware how little i know about the animals i love so much! i have decided to suspend my preconcieved notions about what is and/or is not possible and just listen for a while. kasis, your response about the horse makes perfect sense - thank you! i have seen the pet psychic show one time klately, but i don't think it is the newest one, about the miniature horse that won't eat, etc. anyway, i have been watching with an open mind in hopes of learning something? i am trying to give her (can't think of her name?) the benefit of the doubt for now. i still don't think she is another john edward, but i doubt there are very many out there like him. my first impression of him was WOW!!! this is unbelievable!
have you all noticed how the show is patterned to be exactly like john's show? i guess that's smart on her part, but i find it kind of amusing. i also noticed one night, they ran her ad for her show at every available spot on john's show.
in all seriousness - i am hoping she is sincere and maybe just doesn't have john's talent, gift whatever it is that makes him so special, and i can learn something from her.
see ya'll!
