I just got back from Houston! We drove 5 hrs each way to go and let me tell you, it was certainly worth it. I didn't get a reading, but the readings that came through were absolutely mindblowing. The first thing he said when he came out was that he wasn't doing his normal format - and did we mind if it was all readings? lol....As if!!! The first 4 or 5 were BAMBAMBAM all validations, nothing questionable or unknown for a long time into the seminar. The first reading was one where John had an experience earlier in the day from the spirit coming through - and she directed him right to where the woman was sitting and mentioned a big flag in the room, at first John looked around and said she must have been lying because there was no flag, but he went on with the info and someone validated it - the woman was wearing an american flag shirt and was sitting exactly where he was directed.

From what I hear there were 2800 people there today. I have never seen a line so long in my entire life. John stayed on the stage the whole time, which made me wish I'd gone up front instead of picking an aisle seat towards the middle. But next time.... ;) He did take a few questions after a while, but the second set was interrupted by another reading, which was actually really cool to me. You really have no idea when the spirits will demand attention!

The readings were long, at least 10 minutes each - and he probably got to about 10 people. I didn't count, I was amazed at how accurate everything was. There were times when I was thinking it was even better than the show. Anyone who thinks the show is edited for content would have been knocked on their asses by what happened today, I can tell you that :) I remember maybe ONE thing from the entire seminar that wasn't validated right away. He was simply amazing.

I am watching the tour list like a hawk cuz I am waiting for the new orleans show to be added, you better believe I'll be first in line for that one!

The Houston Seminar on Sunday was outstanding. This is the fourth seminar that I've attended, and John never ceases to amaze me. I know he says it's not about him, but I'm amazed that he can receive, process, and COMMUNICATE the information so quickly under such an enormous amount of pressure.

VioletSky is right -- there was a very large crowd in attendance, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were even more than 2800 people.

I think that there may have been less readings than I've usually seen, maybe ten at most, but some of the readings were quite lengthy, and several were nothing short of profound.

The first reading was more than 20 minutes long as the young woman who came through, Tina, not only communicated with her family, but then brought through the parents of someone in the front row. The families apparently knew each other. She also brought through family members for another group, and I don't even think they knew each other, but there were a few parallels.

This young woman, Tina was, as John put it, "a ham." So often, the lengthy readings are, in part, due to "psychic amnesia", but not today. Tina gave quite a lot of information and her family was able to validate everything. John was right on the mark with his interpretations, and the families were equally receptive. It couldn't have gone any better for them. Of course, Tina wanted to make sure she got the credit for bringing through all the others.

After that reading, John even said, "Wow, this is great! Why can't I get people like this in the gallery?"

The second reading was also very lengthy, and quite devastating. The unusal thing about this reading, was that it started out with "pet energy."

They were bringing up something about 3 or 4 pets dying in a fire on a piece of property that had 2 barns or houses on it, and 2 water wells. All of that was validated. Then John said he was getting the name "Elmer" or "Alma", and after a minute or so, the family confirmed that "Elmo" was the name of the dog that was saved, but the other 2 had passed in a fire.

There was a lot more to this reading, but some of the key points were this. At one point, John said they were showing him Mr. Ed, the "talking" horse, and he wasn't quite sure what the reference was. The lady doing most of the talking validated that one particular horse always curls his lips up into a smile when she talks to him. He only does that with her. She said she has made jokes about those on the Other Side communicating with her through him, because he's named after someone who passed. John pretty much confirmed that!

Now, as if that wasn't enough, here's where a very powerful story began to unfold.

There were 2 ladies speaking with John, but one more than the other. John said that there was someone coming through with a funny horse reference, like a funny story about someone falling off a horse. This was not how they passed, and they thought it was funny. The lady said, yes, that was her daughter, Hailey, who had fallen off a horse when they were looking to purchase one. Hailey got back up on the horse and wanted to buy that one, which they did. Apparently, Hailey was now coming through.

Earlier, John had mentioned someone with a unique "S" name, which there was a little difficulty validating, and they thought maybe it was the last name of a sister-in-law whose husband had passed. As it turns out, the unique "S" name was "Star" because Hailey's horse was named "Hailey's Shining Star", and they call it "Star."

The story of Hailey's passing was quite devastating for the family. John mentioned 4 people passing from multiple gunshot wounds, but that it was 3 and 1. The family confirmed that it was 3 members of one family -- a mother, father, and 2 month old baby -- and Hailey, who had spent the night at their home. Someone, apparently more than one, came in and shot them all multiple times. This just occurred Dec. 17, 2001.

It was brought out by The Other Side that there are some things in the ongoing investigation that don't add up. The family confirmed it. They said that one of the bodies was moved, and that the description and story don't add up. Again, the family validated it.

John asked if there was some connection to the Bush family. The family said that they had a friend who had "connections" and might have to call on them for help with the investigation. It came up that there is one suspect right now, but that there are actually more people involved than the one and that there was more than one gun. The family confirmed that they suspect someone else, but it isn't public knowledge and there haven't been any more arrests.

Hailey told her mom that she needed to step back and "see the bigger picture." She mentioned that the other person is also responsible for other things. Hailey was very particular in making sure that the family understood that "justice would be served," as she said it several times.

John did say that he had to be really careful with readings such as this, especially with the investigation going on right now. Several times he had to say to the family, "Please don't say anything. Just listen to what I'm saying."

John asked about a music box that goes on and off by itself, which the family confirmed. Hailey validated that it is a sign from her. She then thanked her stepfather for being there and comforting her mother.

The reading ended on a lighter note, with Hailey making reference to someone below her that has big ears. The family laughed and said that it's Hailey's younger brother. She was always teasing him about his big ears.

Another reading later on made reference to an older woman, like an aunt, Dorothy or Dottie, and something about a famous large dog or prize-winning dog, or large show dog. That one took a very long time to validate.

He was pointing to our area, so I did get to stand up with the microphone at this point. I said that I have an Aunt Dottie (Dorothy), and my sister has several dogs, one a large, pedigreed silver collie that comes from a long line of prize-winning show dogs. Alas, it was not for me. :(

Finally, after many minutes, someone said that they had an Aunt Dottie, who was a pioneer in the greyhound racing business. She had many prize winning greyhounds.

A little ten year old girl asked about coping with loss and John used the analogy about the glass (recepticle -- our bodies) of water (the soul) and how over a period of time it evaporates. When it evaporates, it goes into the air, and where is air? She replied, "All around us," to which John replied, "Exactly."

A few statements from John yesterday (maybe not direct quotes):

When asked about maintaing personalities on The Other Side, John stated, "Death does not bring immediate wisdom."

When asked whether he worries about negative energies around him, John replied, "I have found that the negative and evil energies are those who are still living."

There is so much more -- I'm hoping someone else can help out here! Whew!

Wow, that was great. Now I'm hoping I can get to a seminar. It sounds so worthwhile whether you get a reading or witness others receiving the reading. Awesome.

Question for marymabe and VioletSky, and anyone else who attended:

Do you remember the reading, "Who is the dentist?" "Who's name has the hard G sound?" It took a few minutes, but eventually, a young woman, Gwen, responded that she's a dental assistant.

Her stepfather came through with information about how he was a little younger than her mother, and that the stepdaughter was not very accepting of him at first. He made some references to his nose, and Gwen validated that at the wake, she had told her mother that his nose did not look right, obviously due to the injury he had received. Her stepfather acknowledged that he was good-looking and that she should remember him the way he WAS and not how he looked when he passed.

It appeared that the reading was finished, then John said someone was referencing a photo of him standing with a motorcycle, like a Harley, and other motorcycles all over in the background, like one of those motorcycle or auto shows. She didn't appear to make the connection.

Then John said that there was also a Colorado connection, like Denver. Again, I did not hear her validate that.

Here's my question: From where I was, I could not see the stepdaughter, and I couldn't hear her reply to the last two pieces of information. I wondered if she couldn't make the connection, or if she had already handed over the microphone and we just couldn't hear it. I believe that the last thing I heard was John saying, "Okay, just remember that."

I do have a reason for asking that question.

From what I remember, I got the impression that she couldn't validate it, but I was too far behind to be able to see or hear her myself. I was in the middle, on the aisle - I asked John if he'd ever had someone come in for a private reading but didn't have any spirits come through.

I would feel really really bad though if I paid 300 dollars and waited 3 yrs for a private reading only to have no one come through lol....

OH wait a minute!! I can't believe we forgot to tell you the funniest part of the entire day!!!!!

When Carol came out to tell everyone to turn off cell phones, she was saying, "Make sure all cell phones are turned off...." then went on and said, "All vibrators..." (Of oourse, she was trying to say put beepers on vibrate, etc)

Imagine 2800 ppl laughing their asses off.

She finally gave up and said, "Let me just introduce JOhn Edward!"

John came out laughing, and said "You have no idea how glad I am that that just happened!!"



I can't imagine a better way to begin a seminar :)

VioletSky, I'm so glad you brought that up! At the time, I thought, "They'll get a kick out of that at the board," and then I totally forgot about it!

It took a couple of minutes to calm the crowd, even John could hardly speak when he came through the curtains, he was laughing so hard. Of course, his comment about being glad that it happened sent everyone into hysterics again.

I thought he meant that it was good to "clear the air" or release some of the nervous energy in the room. But, it seems like Carol teases and gives John a hard time for "flubbing" so he was pretty happy. I think he even said something like, "Back at ya, babe!"

What a riot! Glad you remembered it, VioletSky!
