View Full Version : Seminar Size?

If you have attended a John Edward seminar, we would like to hear from you :) How many people did the venue hold?
If you've been to more than one seminar....no problem! You can vote multiple times. Just mark all the boxes that apply, and then submit.
Be aware that you can only submit once.
Thanks for your input :D

Oh my---I have been to what now, six seminars? Each one has had a different amount of people----1500, 1800, 2000, 3000, etc.
I don't think one set number can be put on it. Depending on the size of the venue itself, you surely can't sell 2000 tickets to a place that holds 1500? Take A.C. for instance, that room held 1800 people, whereas Indy was 3000?
So, I did vote multiple times, I had to.
I had to vote multiple times too. My first at Chicago was under 1300, yes, Indy there were more than 3000. But you just can't say, because we still hear through the grapevine that John is going "group sessions" as part of his "private practice" and that can range anywhere between 30 and 300.

In Chicago on Apr 29, 2004, I understand that there were 3150 people. AND my dad came through. He is good.

I am not one for good estimates but I know I enjoyed them all. I think Philly had quite a bit of people there. But I really enjoyed the LI Bridges seminar with about 250 people there. It was quieter and since mostly people there knew what was going on there wasn't a lot of chatter there.

Kimber!!! You can't say your Dad came through and not give us the reading details. :) If John gave your family a reading, please tell us about it in the "Testimonials" forum. Welcome

This message was originally posted by me back in February 2002. We had been discussing (in other threads) seminar sizes. Many said that they had been to seminars with over 3000 or more people. I had only been to one seminar at that time and was curious about others experience with venue size.
Now (of course) John holds smaller group seminars and the question isn't as pertinent. Also he ''tours'' more often than back then and more of us have had the opportunity to see him and have a better idea what to expect.
I'm still curious about your Irdu (sp?) comments in the other thread.
It seems that many of these very old threads with polls are being revived since the links to polls are appearing on the Main Page.
When someone votes in the poll, it automatically "bumps" the thread, even though no one may have actually replied to it in a year or two.
In this thread, Pam replied over 2 years ago. Someone saw the poll, voted on it, that bumped the thread, and on the New Posts page, it appeared that Pam had just replied. :hmm:
People see that listed in the New Posts and think that Pam just responded, and that this was an active thread.
It's happening a lot since newer members are discovering some very old poll threads.
Just curious, why do you want to know this?
Theo-Just curious, do we need a reason? (That's a rhetorical question of course :) )
Way back when, (look at the date of the original post) when the venues were still small-ish, we noticed a trend of the venues getting larger. It was simply a poll to stimluate conversation, and see if everyone thought the same thing, that's all. Nothing more. Nothing less....
And yes, our snazzy new home page software displays random polls on the home page, and a vote wiill "bump" the thread up as a recent topic. So, when asking someone a question in the thread, please note the date and time that person posted, so you're not stuck waiting for a response from someone who has long left us

Uh-oh. I wasn't speaking urdu in my sleep again, was I?
Seriously, I now don't remember what thread you are referring to, but if you link me, I'll go see what I said and try to make sense of me. Always a challenge!

Sure thing Theo,
The thread is here (http://www.johnedwardtalk.org/showthread.php?t=10524&page=2&pp=10).
It seemed to me that you were insinuating (in that thread) you were talking "above" us and we weren't comprehending you OR you might as well be speaking in an altogether different language than us. I kept waiting for you to come back and explain your comment to us so it could be taken in whatever context you meant it.
One could even take some of your comments in an altogether different light and think you were being pert with us. (like your first post in this thread for example, might seem that way to some). I would like to think that you don't mean it that way, and it's a simple miscommunication. Typed messages on these boards can lead to some misconceptions about others, since we are missing body language; facial expressions, to judge each other by.
BTW I'm glad it was me whom you asked the question about why would I want to know (how many people were at the seminars). Another member might have felt defensive about your question, while I take it in stride (I know my motives/threads/posts are are okay).

I checked that thread which I left because the kind of discussion I was looking for wasn't the kind of discussion others were interested in pursuing. Having left it, I have no reason to revisit it.
As to this thread, I am not responsible for other people's defensive reactions to straightforward comments or questions, nor is anyone else. Nor do I believe I have to go into long explanations of my posts in case someone, somewhere, might find some way to be offended. If people want to know what I mean, I hope they ask. At the time, not weeks later.
I usually find that assuming the best motives on the part of others, works better for me than assuming the worst.

Thank you Theo for your post. For the record, I did post my question in a timely manner in both threads, not weeks later.
You may not be responsible for people's reactions to posts, but being a moderator here, I am.
As for assuming, I try not to. I'd rather be direct and ask.
I find it ironic that you posted:
...Nor do I believe I have to go into long explanations of my posts ...
Feeling this way, I find it ironic that you would ask me to explain my motives in this thread / poll.

Welcome to the board Kimber :)
You can browse the discussion folders by clicking that link on the start page. It is located in the middle left of the page.
Here (http://www.johnedwardtalk.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1) is a list of all the discussion folders in the Main Community, you probably want one of those. Each has a description of the subject is to make it easier.
Good luck finding what you're looking for :)
