View Full Version : Meditations at Seminars

Just a question... has JE been leading the seminars in meditations lately? I ask because I don't think anyone's made note of the meditations since the New Haven seminar. A couple of people, however, have noted the absence of the meditations.
I'm just kind of curious as to whether he's taken this part out completely, or whether it depends on ... whatever ... on a particular evening.
Has anyone attended a seminar post-New Haven that included a meditation?
Celestial, I do not know the date of the New Haven seminar, but the last couple of seminars I've attended had no group meditation. The first two seminars I attended, both in November of 2000, had group meditation, but none since. I attended a seminar in Houston on February 10, 2002 -- no meditation. Prior to that was last May 2001 in Austin and there was no group meditation at that one, either.
I am wondering if it may have something to do with the very large crowds and some time constraints, trying to get in as many readings as possible. He probably just does his own meditations before he ever comes out to address the attendees.
There was a very short meditation at the December seminar. We had to visualize a beach, ocean, sun rising, and the bright white light while holding our palms facing up. It was very quiet while everyone was doing this. The four of us were really concentrating on our loved ones to come through. I don't know if it helped but it did seem to work.

We did deep breathing exercises in Minneapolis but it was very short as John needed to get going. That was the only seminar I have been to.

No meditations at the Las Vegas (January 2002) or Tucson (February 2002) seminars. I think Tucson one could have used it!!
Of the four seminars that I've been to, we only meditated on the first, in November of 2000. It was the same meditation as described above, at the beach, with the light, and asking our loved ones to communicate slowly and clearly.
I understand that the logistics may not be conducive to this kind of meditation in such large crowds, but I really missed it at the other seminars I attended. The meditation really made me feel connected to my loved ones whether I got a reading or not, and it set the tone in the room. It also enabled me to relax, because I was really pumped up the first time.

The meditation was my favourite part of the seminar. That fell under the "old" schedule I think where they used to say it would be an hour of Q & A, 15 mins of meditation, and an hour of readings. Our meditation wasn't 15 minutes, but it was long enough to make me think, "Who needs the readings! Let's just do this!" ;)
I've never bought JE's meditation tapes -- I'm not really a meditation tape person -- but after the seminar I actually considered it for a bit. I think it's valuable because it helps all of us to facilitate making contact on our own, instead of through John.
I guess, in that way, it kind of brings up the issue -- do people want the experience of contacting their relatives, or do they just want to be read by John? Not that that's a bad thing -- I'd certainly like to be read by John -- but I hope he continues his role as "teacher" and doesn't get caught up in the role of celebrity.
Not that I have the right to judge what he's doing, I'm sure his guides are putting him exactly where he needs to be, and I don't know anything in particular but... it concerns me.

I think you just hit the nail on the head, Celestial! Don't worry.

Ditto :)
If he does get caught up in it, it's for his own path and lessons that he has to learn while on this plane...even if we're not happy about it, and if we don't think it's for the best. Somehow though, knowing John's motivation for what he does, I'm not worried that his ego will get in the way.
As far as your question, Celestial, why not create a poll? I'd love to see the answers :)

I think that's a great idea. Um... how would I do that? Is it something you could create? :)
:tech: Piece o' cake. When you click to create a "New Thread", just scroll to the bottom and you'll see where a poll is created.
