Oh MY!!!

I'm so excited!! I was talking to my mom on her cell when they opened the doors in Miami about an hour ago!

I bought her and my dad tickets for her birthday! I have been talking to my grandparents (crossed over) all day hoping they can push their way through to John. My Dad who really love to hear from them even if he doesn't say much about it!

I wonder where they are sitting? I wonder how many people are actually there? I wonder how it feels to be in a room with so much energy!! The energy from all the people there and from all of those on the other side!! It must be just amazing!!

My mom is going to call me right after the show. It is such agony tro sit and wait! I was doing some meditation earlier and think I might just have to go back to that to calm down. Maybe it will help john to connect with them.

So EXCITED!!
Kris

Really looking forward to hearing all about it. Will keep my fingers crossed that your parents get their wish and get a reading from John.

the place was HUGE and there were A LOT of people there....John stayed up on the podium thing ....as opposed to running all about, which is what I'm used to...we had the usual problem with slow validations and people not knowing what he was talking about....

I was really frustrated because my directions took me straight to the "hood" and I didn't get there until 6:22....it was really raining on the way there....BAD...and overall I had a horrific experience just getting there....

I don't want to seem negative ....this seminar was huge....and the sound was awful for those in the back it was projected towards the front from a few rows up ...personally with as many people as were there and as much money floating around...books...tapes...tickets etc...I thought it was a rather shabby production....no "Glitter" like on crossing over ...not like that's necessary...but when you are marketing someones "voice" you should be able to hear it....

I knew I wouldn't have a reading going into it...so, that was a givin...I believe my test of the day was patience...and I failed...I got extremly upset and aggravated...not to mention scared that I
was lost and in the car for soooo long....watching the time tick knowing the doors were open etc etc...anything and everything around me pulls their energy back when I get impatient...

but I did see someone that I knew ...the last few minutes of the seminar ...and I followed them out and to the interstate...

I can't really remember all the validation specifics right now ...I will try as the threads progress...

John did an excellent job on his end ...as usual.:tut:

Do you think the venues are getting too large? I think when you get beyond 2000 people, it no longer has an initimate feel. When I saw him in Columbus last year, that venue held about 2500 and I thought at the time.......if this gets much bigger, it's going to start losing something in the translation...........would sure hate to see that happen.

blugrrl
03-08-2002, 11:12 AM
I agree 100%....everytime I go he gets "unvalidated" information that is SOOO valid to me it's beyond real...but because I'm not "right in this area" I don't ever say anything....he knows where he's focusing ....he's the medium not me...but I think he would really get a laugh out of the EXTREME coincidences of the "Me to" stuff I have when I'm in the same room with him....and I'm not trying to make things fit....which is how it feels at these seminars.... like people are trying to make square pegs fit in round holes....but I also understand that you can't stand up and say" Hey I'm getting yada yada if this means something to you raise your hand"...good god there would be a thousand hands...

I don't know really if John has anything to do with the size and place of the venues...once managment teams get a hold of something marketable it's all about how much money can we make...which makes me sick...bu that's how it works...I only wished I could have been a part of the thirteen people seminar he talked about that went on and on till 11 at night...

It is like a musician ...when they play at small venues you love them they get discovered and bam...STADIUM.....I wouldn't be surprised if it gets that big and there is some sort of random contest for who gets they reading we all watch from our nose bleeds seats...

on the one hand it's great ...that it's happening and that people are opening up and believing in things more openly...but on the other hand you do loose something...

and the way he used the intro to the seminar as a marketing tool to sell someone elses book and make light of Starchild...was just taking advantage of a large audience...to bad he wasn't my personal friend ...maybe everyone would want to come to see me if John Edawrd said my name too....

wonder if he got paid to do that????

my OH MY Blugrrl is feeling bitter today....sorry John and friends ....you know I love you....you know what they say....opinions are like <ebm>and we all have one...

I prefer "opinions are like noses, everyone has one, and they all stink". It's a bit more G-rated too, if you don't mind.

That's NOT the way it works. There is no "management team" unless you mean John and Carol. John is control of his own career, and between he and his assitant Carol they decide where and when, and how many seats to sell. You can suppose they want to make money, and you can suppose they want to reach as many people as they can. Your choice.

I mentioned seminar size one time to Carol, and she said she had suggested instead of 2000 people in one city, on one day, that they do two seminars back to back of 1000 each. But the timing and logistics were a problem.

This has come up before, and all I can say (again) is if you don't write a snail mail with a suggestion for improvement to his office (they read EVERY letter) then you can't be part of the solution :)

PAM, sorry about the r rated comment ...I like the nose thing I'd never heard that...I'm a very r rated peron with a very g rated soul...we are trying to get along with each other these days ...seems like we just met a few years ago and it's taking me awhile with my "two sets of friends" ...if you will....like the Joni Mitchell line "frightened by the devil and I'm drawn to those who ain't afraid..."

I am a very good soul...really I am ...but I have a very tough shell...which is really an illusion....because I dont even kill spiders...so I will try more to control myself...

I like this board it is helping me with all my inner stuff ...

sometimes I feel crazy, all this" otherside "stuff.... you all make me feel sane .

and I didn't know enough about the inner workings of things to be making such comments....thank you for shedding some light...so really they are just expirimenting with this whole process huh???

and I wouldn't know where to end send a letter...they have to be getting so many how on earth do they have time to read them...

I noticed van praagh is going to have a tv show...here we go...at least crossing over was the first....

have to head to work...

thank you for being open to all types of people on your board....

I figure John's office has heard enough from me to last a life time, but I do hope they don't have the seminars get so large people can't hear or see........I don't think the message gets out to more people if they can't hear. The tv show is the venue that can reach that quantity of people. I have confidence they will do whatever is best.

 I was at the Miami seminar last night also. I had gotten the wrong directions from an employee at the venue, was lost for over two hours in the pouring rain. After about a dozen phone calls trying to get to the venue we made it there by seven. So, first off the people at the Radisson Mart Plaza don't even know how to direct people to where they work. It was awful!

I have to agree with blugrrl, the sound system sucked, big time! I moved three times trying to hear what John was saying. There were far too many people there. 3000 were expected and I believe most showed up.

I didn't even try to take notes. Everything was garbled and half of what was said was inaudible. All in all, I was a bit dissappointed. Not with John, but with the venue and the size of the seminar. I will take your advice, Pam, and write to Get Sych'd. Hopefully, if enough of us write, John and his staff will not have another Miami seminar at the Radisson and will trim down the number of tickets available.

On a positive note. I enjoyed just being in the same room with John. I knew he was hitting the nail on the head by the responses of those being read. He truely is phenominal (sp?). I just couldn't hear what he was saying most of the time. Yes, I will definitely go to another seminar given the chance. I do believe in John and what he is trying to do for everyone of us.

In all fairness, it sounds like the problem was with the venue and not the number of attendees. Two of the four seminars I've attended in the past had 3000 people and we could hear just fine. At the last seminar, I was in the 4th row from the back, and had a friend who was seated in the 10th row from the front. We could each hear equally well.

How does JE keep everyone happy? If the venue could hold 5,000 people, he could probably fill it. If the JE staff should decide to start using smaller venues with less capacity, there would be complaints about that, too.

Two seminars back to back with a maximum of 1000 attendees each sounds great, but I sure wouldn't want JE to start wearing himself out. How does he squeeze in the filming of "Crossing Over" and work on production of the new television series?

Guess "the boys" will keep him on the right path...

I am going to try to be as clear as I can be, but I just drove back from Orlando please everybody, be patient. I am not really sure how I should start. Miami was my very first seminar, so I was not really sure what to expect. Well first of all I was lucky that my girlfriend drove me, because I would have gotten lost just like you guys did. The weather did not help either, we had a huge storm. By the time we got there 3:30 they probably had a 1000 people in line. And I am sorry to say this, but the energy I felt there was not very positive. In my mind I thought everybody would be nice and humble, since we all lost someone, and we are there to be comforted by John. I really felt honored. (but not everybody) At least a 150 people cut us off, they were saying they had people in the front. (there was a sign no holding the space in line) This was after we were standing there for an 1 1/2 hour. I was just disappointed in people, this has nothing to do with John. They simply did not have enough security guards to control all those people. Yes, the place was huge, we were in about the 15. row. ( TXJUDE: I think people could hear everything here too in the 10. row, but once you are sitting in the 30., I am not so sure) Anyways, I was very excited, I also knew I was not going to be read, because I prayed for others who needed it more. I think this is becoming extremely long. More to come. You guys tell me if this is boring.

Hi Giga,
I'm anxious to get your opinion. This was my first seminar too. Hope Orlando was better. Please continue. I'm in agreement that it had nothing to do with John, just the venue was huge and the sound system was inadequate for that number of people. I personally feel that over 3000 people is too many. That's just my opinion.
I missed all the crowds although people were still going in when we finally got there. I wish I had the name of the girl who gave me the original directions. We were in a neighborhood where we shouldn't have been!!! That was when I was glad it was raining.
Anyway, we got there and it was the fastest two hours I have ever spent.

Jessie (?) came out talking a little bit, then there was John everybody screaming, yelling, applauding like crazy. It felt like a rock concert. It felt like a little bit that they not really there to learn and get comforted, but to check out, how cute he is. I heard some comments. The thing is once you are on tv,you are a celebrity and there is not much you can do about it. But then again I would have never (maybe) found John and comfort if it was not for Crossing Over. So it's kind of a catch22. (and he is cute) I don't really see the solution as far as spreading the word, without getting the wrong kind of crowd. All the good that comes out of it is all well worth it. We did have way too many people, but if I can say this I was proud. One more thing, before I forget for the skeptics, please go and see him in action, because once you did there is no way on this Earth, that anybody could say he is a fake. My husband is a good example, who wanted divorce me, because I watched John everyday. Well, he came to see him, and he said it was good and he liked it. (HUGE thing to say from him) ok. next

Hi Betty, I agree with you too. This place was not well prepared. My husband came later alone, and on the way back I said to him where is your stamp and he said he came in through the side door and they did not even take his ticket. So now I have that ticket!!!! They had a very light background, so when John came out, his aura was so strong that the word saint came to my mind. It was just all around him I have never seen anything like that. He complained about the traffic (meaning: made a joke) He talked for a half an hour, then started with the readings. He had a black v-neck sweater on with jeans and he wore his glasses.

Personally I think since this venue is more about what you hear not what you see (unlike a theater play) the sound is extremely important. You simply need to hear what the answers are, otherwise how do we learn?? I mean everything John says is always meaningful, but we need to hear the responses. So what I am trying to say is that they did have major problem with the sound. They did not have enough microphones and they also broke down, and people did not stand up so we had no idea who or where the answers were coming from, which is annoying because you wanna connect with people otherwise what's the point? (if I am not mistaken they had a problem in Las Vegas also?!) I think it is easy to solve, but I also think 3000 people did not belong into that room. Probably the Jackie Gleason Theater would have been a better choice. (like it was planned originally)

Putting all the little things aside, the big picture is that what John can do to people is absolutely priceless. And the thing is that those people who got a reading, because they were supposed to they actually did, and they did hear everything John was saying. We had lots of great readings during the seminar, it was awesome. John is funny, compassionate, charming and very giving. I pray he is going to be around for a long-long time and teach and spread the word. This world needs him. Thank you John!!!!!!

I've never been to a seminar, but seeing as I'm sure people travel far and wide to get to them, I think John and his people would like to know about this. He is more interested in delivering the message than selling seats, and maybe he couldn't tell that everyone couldn't hear, or it was too late and beyond his control to do anything about it at that time. If I were him, I'd like to know.

John talked about that new book from Dr. Schwartz "Afterlife experiements" He is in that study. He suggested it to all the skeptics. I am buying it tomorrow. You know Blugrrl, I overheard some people complaining about how much money, John must be making. The way I see it , he does have to make a living (or else he can go back and work in the hospital, but then we all going to lose him, and me being selfish I don't want that) He knows it is not about money, more than any of us, I really believe that.

Blugrrl, that is so funny, because a couple of times I had the same experience, that the message was for me. I made notes, because it probably was for me. There was a woman who worked in the VIP room for United Airlines, and one of her coworker's, a man, was on the plane which went into one of the tower's. She had to deliver a message for his wife and child. It was very emotional. Guys, I have to tell you about some other readings, but I am losing my energy.

By all means, share your experiences, Giga. That goes for all of you! Remember most of our members here do not have the chance to go to a seminar, and it is to their benefit (as well as for those who have a seminar or six under their belts) to experience with you.

So thanks for sharing- Yardbird

Thank you guys it was so exciting, but I am so tired. I do have to tell later about, how John scared his grandma. And about his vision of his mom. And the reading right behind me, while the microphone blew up. What an amazing person John is!! Pam, thank you so much for this site, I am soooooo grateful!!

Hello all,
I was also at the Miami Seminar thanks to my daughter (ktrus). I was able to get a ticket for my sister thanks to "Bonnie" , here on the friends site. Blugrrl got the other ticket from "Bonnie". I thank you "Bonnie" so much. My sister is very interested in the kind of thing JE does too. My sister, Barbara, and I enjoyed seeing him and hearing him do the readings. She had never seen JE on tv and just knew of him from my enthusiasm.
My husband and I got to the Radisson about 2:30. We saw on the Friends site that the doors might open at three because of the large crowd. The doors openned at 5 as originally mentioned on the JE site. The weather was horrible but could have been worse. At least it wasn't cold. Wet was bad enough. We thought that we might have the beginnings of the second fourty day flood while we were riding down the Xway. The ride to the radisson was not fun. We took two wrong turns and had to backtrack both times to get back to where we needed to be. Not fun at all. The wait in line didn't seem too long because we talked with the people around us. they were all so enthusiastic. Our seats were in row 20 on the center aisle. It was a great spot to sit. I was happy that we were not right up front because we were able to see the people who were being read to the side and in front of us. It surprised me that JE started reading so early....it was only 7:10. Books and tapes were being sold in the back of the room...So I bought the box of six tapes. They cost $40. I haven't been able to listen to them yet because we only got back home this evening. Anyway....... JE started reading at 7:10. The first ones were to the left of us and a couple of sections away. JE was quite specific as to who he was directed to give the messages to but the people on the recieving end took a long while to realize that they were the ones that were supposed to respond. (thank you again Ktrus for the experience) . JE looked like a caged animal up on stage. Every time he got people coming thru he would start to pace quickly from one side of the stage to the other. At the end of the reading he would calm down and stop the frentic pacing. I wonder if he realizes that he does this. One woman was told that she had a panama connection and had a hostage connection and saw two people killed around her...she validated this and then was told that she was a thief and had something to do with the export/import business. That reading ended abruptly. There was a reading for a very young widow that had a 28 connection and had just found out that her husbands son was coming to see her. The son was 13 and she was supposed to see him on the 28th. JE told her that her husband was in the military and was watching over other military personnel. The woman was there with a friend (woman) and she was involved in the reading too. Another person in a different part of the room was told that there was a connection to a child of ten who had drowned a while back....not recent. that was validated too. The readings were evenly spread around the room from side to side and then center and then side rear on one side. JE read until 9 when the people working for the radisson told him it was time to stop. He said that he had one more reading that he had to do. Once that one was over he quickly left the stage. We were mesmerized for the whole seminar and couldn't believe that it was already time to end it. The readings were very similar to those given in the tv show. It was interesting to see how much the readings meant to the young widow. I hope we can go to another of his seminars in the future.
Again, thank you ktrus for making this evening possible.

Thanks so much for sharing your notes with us about the seminar. Every time someone new gets a chance to see JE in action I relive my own experiences. It is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. I hope to do it again. I want to thank you very much for doing this. If you remember other things please do share them with us. I am so glad you had the opportunity to do this. Please join us as often as you wish. We are always glad to have another soul in our ranks.

Blessings to you and of course, your sweet daughter for sharing you with us.

thanks to everyone for bringing everything up...I remember all these things and some of you helped clarify what I couldn't hear...

I actually missed the last reading ...that was when I saw someone I knew...(which I never thought would happen at a JE seminar)

I do have a question though about the sword connection earlier on in the evening ...that was over to the right by the lady with the panama connection...does anyone remember what he was saying about the sword??

and the pinky thing made me laugh...this older gentelman sat down in front of me and on his pinky was a samll ring and the enegry this man had around him was incredible...( I wanted to tap him over the shoulder and say whomever you wish to connect with is with you all the time...)but I'm not a medium...when John kept talking about the "pinky" connection I wanted to direct him over to this man with the pinky ring..;)

I was going to drive to Jacksonville but I didn't...

and I need to get over and post about the cardinals in another thread...I actually had one fly right in front of me on the way there ..which caused me to brake and pay attention just in the nick of time...

and yes...I did magically receive a ticket from this board...from Bonnie and I feel bad for doubting her due to the "don't buy from scalpers" on this board thread...

never did run into anyone from here...if I did neither of us were aware...

I agree about the money thing...as long as it doesn't go to his head....

and I enjoyed the energy of the flight attendant guy...John really hit that one on the head...I hope they change the photo of him...funny how he's gone and complaing about them making him look bad in the memorial photo by scanning copy of a copy of a copy....and still flirting with the stewardess they call "granma" from the otherside....:p

I just got home from the Miami seminar (stayed a few extra days there...my vacation). This was my second seminar (the first, last fall in St. Louis). Unlike some of the other folks, I had a good seat and could hear everything. This was an amazing seminar to me. John was so energized I thought sparks were going to fly, and he blew out the mics, as he acknowledged. He took maybe one question and then started the readings, no breaks. The first reading was like pulling teeth, but most were really much smoother. I agree, the audience was more like you'd expect at a rock concert, very excited -- a few people tried to start a wave!
But once things got going, I think people got on the train, and saw where it was going. At least some of them. I'm still amazed and astounded; I thought John did a fantastic job.

I agree with some of the prior posters that the staff at the Radisson was a problem. They were rude and officious for no reason that I could tell, demanding that people who had waited in line for 4 or 5 hours for their seats move to the end of the rows and give up the seats they had waited for! This, the bad weather, the strange location of the hotel and the difficulty getting to it, all put me (and obviously others) in a really bad mood waiting for the seminar to begin. But once it started, John just was so uplifting, all that fell away, at least for me. I'm really sorry some of the other posters didn't feel that way. I'm sure going to remember this one for a long time.

Harriet

Thanks to all who posted their experiences about the seminar. I've been away for the weekend and just got back. Had a great time reading it all. I'm sorry for those who couldn't hear very well. you must be very disappointed. I hope for others sakes you all write a letter to John telling him of the problems. After all, How can he fix the problem if he's not aware of it.

Thanks again for taking the time to write. For those of us who can't make the seminars we hang out for your accounts.

:daisy: Thanks to all of you who are sharing your seminar expierences with us. I have enjoyed reading all of the messages. The more I read, the more excited I get about going to Westbury in April!!! I must confess though that I soooooooo need to hear from my dad. The past 2 years have been very hard and I need to hear from him that I am doing what he would have wanted me to do. I know he is around me all the time but I guess I just need to hear his approval. Hopefully I will have Westbury to share with you all.
This board is a wonderful place to share and the people are great. Thank you....Mary

Hi, guys! I'm new to this board. Just found it a few days ago. Luckily right before I went to the Miami seminar.

In short, I thought the seminar was wonderful.

Again, like others, what wasn't wonderful was finding the place. We started out from Ft. Lauderdale at 1:00 p.m. and should have taken us about 45 minutes to get there. WRONG! The address on the tickets and website didn't mention whether it was STREET or AVENUE (which makes a big difference here in FLA) and we went to the street address. Miles away from the site. Not the nicest of neighborhoods. FINALLY found the right place at 3:15 p.m. That was the down side. Waited in line until they opened the doors around 5 and waited another hour or so for John to go on.

We had great seats. Was in the 20th row or so on the aisle. Did not have a reading, but that was okay. Was just wonderful being there and seeing him in action in person. Have watched all his shows, read the books (among many others by other mediums), and truly believe John is gifted and uses his gift to help people in need.

Before the seminar started, I thought to myself, oh, this is great (sarcastically) Sort of carnival type atmosphere and a little honky-tonk feel to it. The warm-up person (who was nice) but way too loud (do they really need him anyway????), and really coudn't hear him as he spoke to loudly into the mike and it was very garbled.

However, once John came out and started, things got more like the TV show and people calmed down. Luckily, we could hear John perfectly from where we were. Sorry to hear others in the back had such a problem. I could see where the sound system was night right for that room.

I hope to see him again some day in person. How wonderful it must be to meet him and have a private reading. Would jump at the chance to see him again, so keep watching his ticket posting board.

Thanks for having this website. I look forward to reading future postings.

seems like 72 street in the bad part of Miami was a very popular spot this weekend ...I thought I saw a bunch of disgruntaled drivers circling about ...looking for the hotel

....in the ALLEY...

don't feel bad Bob that's exactly where I was!!!!!

but you know what ? maybe that part of Miami isn't so bad...it's all in how you look at things...I had a very nice lady from that area give me directions how to get out of there and over to where I needed to be ...she said....

Girlfriend, you ain't gonna find nothin' like that 'round these parts...'specially over on 72nd...and laughed....and I laughed with her I'd been there it wasn't pretty..........................................
