I'm back from Orlando. It was great, as I knew it would be. I didn't meet up with anyone else from this website. I was staying at the hotel where it was held. I joined the line to get in about 3 hours before the doors opened. I had a blast with the people waiting with me. I loved how the peace & love vibe vanished when people where cutting in line. They had 2 gentlemen collect our tickets outside in exchange for a stamp on the hand. One of the guys was Jessie ( gallery coordinator) The other one was a man named Charlie who I jokingly threatened with physical violence if he was taking our tickets to resell 'em. You have to appreciate the humor in my skepticism of the ticket men but not the medium:D I was seated in the 5th row in the center section. Seating really doesn't matter, however. Most of the readings took place in the side sections & in the back of the room. Jessie spoke to the audience prior to John coming out. John came out to huge applause. Some of the readings took a while because of people not being able to validate what he was saying right away. There was no frustration seen on John's part..he dealt with it with his sense of humor.
A bonus: Lydia Clar ( the woman who was instrumental in setting John on his current path) was seated in the front row. He introduced her to the audience. He also had a book with him called "Hello From Heaven" One of the co-authors was also there but his name escapes me.
I'll post specifics...as best as I can recall about the readings after I've had some rest. the sunburned Pam
