FYI: On Wednesday afternoon (20 March 2002) we will mark the passage of the vernal equinox (at 1916 Z or 2:16 PM EST, 1:16 PM CST, and so forth), an event that is popularly known as the beginning of the astronomical spring season in the Northern Hemisphere. Residents of the Northern Hemisphere will note that the length of daylight rapidly increases toward a maximum on the summer solstice on the morning of Friday, 21 June 2002.

HAPPY EQUINOX!

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy! Not only do I mark the beginning of the vernal equinox, but it means that the warmer weather, sitting in the sun, b-b-q, long walks on the nature trail, digging in the dirt and flowers are soon to follow!

All hail the Vernal Equinox!!! ;) :) :)

Isn't this also the day when you can stand an egg on it's end without it tipping over??

In the never ending quest for truth, I did a little research on this. :reader:

Apparently, this is an urband legend, and if you can stand an egg on end today, you can do it every day :)

Spring is my favorite time of the year. New life peeks its little head up and one can begin to relax because the harsh winter days are finally over.

I love this time of year - thanks for the neat reminder Pooh.
