i attended the westbury seminar on sunday april 28. i haven't read any posts concerning this. i would like to hear from some people who attended and what they thought of it. i have seen john six times before and was wondering what people thought of westbury. last month i was in albany and thought it was an awesome seminar.

I did not attend the Westbury seminar but I did attend the Albany one. The Albany one was my second and certainly was the best. I thought he did an awesome job in Albany. What did you think of the Westbury seminar? Since you didn't say anything about your experience I am thinking it wasn't up there in the top??

I believe there is another thread called "Seminar Day" that was about the Westbury seminar held on Friday. Other than Mary56, who started the thread, no one else has posted to that thread, either.

I went back and checked it out. Only one reply onthe Westbury seminar. She seemed to think there was alot of negative energy there. Anyone else attend have the same thoughts??? I am sure more than one person from this board attended that seminar. Where are the comments for this seminar?

i had read the post from mary before i went on sunday{she wrote about friday}i felt that a lot of the people there that i spoke to were not that excited about being there and came just to see him since he is so popular. unlke the albany seminar there wasn't a table set up with his books or pins and the atmosphere was almost very low key. i spoke with quite a few people before the seminar started and not one of them knew about this website or any website concerning john. i felt very diappointed at some of the questions that were asked of john especially one from a woman who asked him to explain to the audience how he got started and his childhood. when she finished asking her question a majority of the audience started yelling out "READ THE BOOK" to which john smiled and agreed. i felt too much time was wasted on questions and some which seemed not very interesting. oh yes one other point, the CELL PHONES. we heard cell phones ringing throughout the seminar which i thought was so inconsiderate, i never heard that at the previous seminars. i just felt john was wonderful as usual however it wasn't one of the better ones. this was assigned seating which was different from baltimore and albany however i kind of like getting to a seminar about five hours earlier and getting to chat with other people ,the time always goes by and it is fun getting to know people who post on this board. hope to hear from other people who might have attended.

I wasn't at the Westbury seminar, but John and Robert Brown did mention the one that took place Friday night during the workshop on Saturday. It sounded as if they would be in at least partial agreement that the energy there wasn't the best. Apparently there was a man that was extremely rude to Mr. Brown and a woman who was extremely rude to John. I think John made a comment to the audience after Mr. Brown finished his reading with the difficult man, then unfortunately had to endure this nasty lady. Apparently, he gave her a lot of good, specific validations and her closing comment to him was "Well...what was the big message?" I guess her body language throughout conveyed the message that she thought little of John or his abilities.
So it didn't sound like the Friday seminar was too great for at least those two readings. I sure hope Sunday turned out much better. The only thing I can say is the energy at the Saturday workshop was extremely positive, so I hope we in some way made up for whatever those two fine people had to endure on Friday evening.

Can you imagine what a wonderful treat it would have been to have both John and Robert Brown doing readings for one event? I guess some people just don't know when they have it so good!

I can think of nothing better having experienced it at the workshop. What those two negatives were even doing there is beyond me...........why bother coming.......unless of course that's exactly why they wanted to be there.......be a horse's ass should they happen to be read. What an odd goal to set for oneself.....to go and behave like a rude, crude, pitiful excuse for a human being............they were however, obviously quite successful !

thanks for responding about the incident on friday in westbury. i was there sunday afternoon so the mesage i posted was about sunday and it seemed to me that the majority of people there really weren' that familiar with john. as i said before, i have been to see john six times so far{gallery twice, madison square garden , baltimore, albany and just last sunday westbury}the experience on sunday with the rudeness of the people who were getting cell phone calls and people leaving during the seminar, i had never seen before.it seemed to me that since john didn't take a break some people just couldn't sit for the whole time. people walking up and down the aisles during his readings and also raising their hands when it was obvious that the reading wasn't for them was very disturbing for me. i guess some audiences are very different from others. john still was great and had much patience wih uncooperative individuals, i admire everything about him and how he handles difficult situations. my husband just informed me he has gotten tickets to see john on may 7 at westbury as a surprise gift for me, oh well i can't believe it, my seventh time to see john.hope to hear from more people who attended the westbury seminars an what they thought.

After hearing him speak for such an extended amount of time on so many different subjects, I have a new found and deeper respect for him than i had before (if that's possible)
How lucky you are to have attended so many readings........gallery or seminars.........wish I lived close enough to do the same!

My sister and I were at both Westbury seminars (Friday and Sunday). We both found the Friday seminar had a lot more negative energy, and the rude woman was beyond belief. John told this party that somone had hung themself, and their response as "Yeah, so???" -- HELLO! Anyone home?? Then later when she asked him what the message was, we loved it when John came back and said "Know your family". ZING! ..... had WASTED a good 20 minutes not acknowledging relatives, and then finally acknowledging them..
Sunday was definitely the better seminar of the two. I was suprised that before the show, they didn't announce that cell phones and pagers were to be turned off (as was done on Friday). So there was a lot of cell phone noise, which is rude anyway.
I thought the readings were more intense on Sunday than Friday. We were hoping to get a reading (like who doesn't, right?), but were glad to just be there.
I don't understand the Mr. Brown reference on Friday night, as John was the only person doing readings (or did I misread the post?)

I thought sure he was talking about Friday, but maybe he was talking about some other function and comparing rude audience members.
Nice to hear he put that woman in her place...........how unappreciative of her! There are people who want so badly to have a reading and then someone like that gets one and doesn't have the decency to appreciate it or thank John for it.

Just a few thoughts about last Friday Night at Westbury. I didn't feel as much negative energy as everyone else seems to. I guess that's a good thing. (I was sitting on the opposite side of the venue where the John got blocked and where the other woman asked, "Why am I Here? So I guess it didn't come across so strongly on my side of the room.
I found both the cell phones and the walking around totally distracting. If anyone plans on attending any of John's upcoming seminars, please, please turn off your cell phone. It totally breaks the energy of the room. And the waking around........ it was so distracting!! When I went to Kansas City, you could hear a pin drop...
John was definitely on "home turf" that night. He felt comfortable at Westbury Music Fair as it is a smaller venue in "the round" you could actually see the people that John was reading. However one section was left empty. Even I was curious as to why so many seats in one section were left empty. John said that he need a place to put his back... where he knew he wouldn't get a pull. Someplace neutral. He told a lot of personal stories... the best was when he was 19 working in Mrs. K's video store and she told him not to do that "wee-gee" stuff on the customers and scare them away. Amazingly enough, one of the last readings was from a woman in the very last row of the venue. As John was reading her, the women with her shouted... "You know her, you know her". He asked.. "Do I know you???" She was one of the people that worked in the Video store with John. John didn't realize that the woman's (sorry I forgot her name....) sister had passed and went on to make several validations.
Although I didn't get a reading that night... I definitely got a "Me Too". John uttered the ever familiar, "I'm going to the back... and ... IF HE DIDN'T LOOK RIGHT AT ME!"
Mother died of heart failure (yes)
Connected to Victor and Marie (yes)
Disconnect from the father (yes)
Are you the baby? (yes)
One of three (yes)
Family member in health care (yes)
(is that my heart pounding so loudly!!!) my hand was raised but a woman not too far from where I was sitting claimed it. I could not validate the number 16 or October 19th. And of the three there was 2 and 1 (eg. 2 boys and 1 girl). I was one of three girls.
But towards the end of the reading John had mentioned that the mother is saying that you need to be more patient and understanding with the father (I am the primary caretaker of my dad who lost his vision over 5 years ago. We live together and lately, well, it hasn't been easy.) In that moment, I felt such a connection, as if she were speaking right to me through John. WOW, Did that really happen? John moved on and the intensity of the moment faded. But I will always remember John looking up and saying, "I'm coming to the back!!!"
I am sorry that I missed Sunday. It sounded like there were many more "Positive" readings. I will be attending on the 7th and 8th of May. Who knows, maybe next time....
Warmest Wishes,

Hi Everyone,
I attended John Edward's seminar at Westbury on Sunday, April 28th. I thought he was just great. This was my 3rd time seeing John. I was so impressed with his accuracy during the readings. I felt as though the people being read were able to validate almost everything he said. He did a great reading for a family that had lost 2 firefighters on 9/11. One was their brother and another a family friend. I thought his reading with this family was just incredible.
I guess everyone has a different experience depending on the people seated around you. I felt lots of positive energy. The people sitting in my area knew all about John and were all very nice and courteous. I didn't hear any cell phones ringing in the area where I was seated. Overall, it was a very postive experience for me and my family.
He is just as incredible in person as he is on television. He was so accurate during all of the readings and that has been my experience everytime I have seen him. (there is no editing at a live seminar and he was just incredible :-)
He also talked about having just participated in more studies at the University of Arizona with Dr. Gary Schwartz. Trying to figure out the "pull" as he describes it when he does a reading. We've all heard him say I'm being "pulled" in this direction. He was able to still feel the "pull" when there was a black curtain in front of the audience that participated in this experiment. I'm so glad John has continued to work with Dr. Gary Schwartz to find a scientific explanation for what John is able to do. I can't wait to hear the results of these studies as well.
Although, we did not get a reading, I thought the seminar was just great.

I also attended the Westbury seminar on Sunday, and I have to say that I thought it was great. I attended MSG which was good and Baltimore (which I thought was awful) and AC which was also good. Westbury was by far my best experience so far. The theater was great, with almost no bad seats. You could see John from anywhere, he didn't have to run around the room, which is real nice if he's reading someone near you, but if not, you could miss the whole thing.
The readings went smooth with almost no psychic amnesia at all. I love the fact that the seats are pre-assigned, while you do miss meeting people and talking on line, it's definitely better, for me anyway.
Debbie
Deb, Trish, Theresa, etc.:
It's nice to hear that there were still many positive experiences at Westbury. Thanks for posting!
