My notes this time are not as detailed as they were from Vegas, but I think I got more out of the experience last night. Lets see...
The seminar started about 15 minutes late, the parking was TERRIBLE so at 6:30 nearly half the place was still arriving. At around 6:45 John just walked out on the stage, no introduction, no lights dimming, no warning, he just walked out from behind the curtain and waved. There was a brief moment of ....is that--him?? And then APPLAUSE!!! Pretty funny!

The first thing he talked about was being a New Yorker, packing for an extended trip to Ca., while listening to CNN in the background, and hearing the CNN guy break in with the "earthquake in Northern California" news. He said his wife was probably still laughing her ass off....at home.
He answered quite a few questions this time. Even explained that he knew that while most people may have come just for the readings, he knew that some others were very interested in the "process" and he owed it to them to do some teaching. There were some very interesting questions, some I've never heard before.
One woman asked if people who are still alive can "visit" like someone who has crossed and he said they can. He told a story about coming home from a saturday night out when he was seventeen. At about 3:30 in the morning his mother came to his room and woke him up wanting to know if he was OK. She was upset and very persistant, asking if anything had happened to him that night. He told her no, he was fine. (This was funny, he was saying in little asides: Of course stuff happened, it was a saturday night, but I wasn't gonna tell her anything. His mom said, it's OK you can tell me, I won't get mad. He thought, I don't care if you get mad or not, I'm Not Telling You Anything!) In the morning he asked her what had been wrong with her that night. She said that she'd woken up, rolled over, and saw him (John) floating above her bed. In the vision he told her that he would take care of everything and that it would be OK. She thought he was dead and came flying into his room to make sure he was home and to see what had happened to him. John, of coarse, thought this meant that *he* was going to die, but now believes it was more to do with the illness his mother would soon be facing.
Someone asked if animals ever come through on their own. He said animals, like infants, are usually brought through by someone else but it does happen sometimes. He talked about doing a private reading with a woman in which he thought he was going to have to call the police. This *person* was coming through as the woman's "baby girl" and giving several validations. Then he sees the baby under pillows and the woman laying on top of them. He's thinking this woman suffacated her baby under the pillows, and he's wondering what the hell he should do or say to her. He decides to tell her what he's getting. Asks her to validate, "your baby died in the pillows?" She says yes and starts crying. JE thinks she's confessing about having killed her baby and that he's going to call the cops on her. (It was funny, he said something like,...I'm not a Priest...I'm turning her in!) Turns out her dog was her "baby girl." The dog had been very sick and was dying. She slept with the woman and sometime during the night the dog died. The woman found her, under the pillows, when she woke up in the moring.
Someone asked if those on the other side can cause events to happen here. I can't remember exactly how she worded it, but I think she was asking if they can make bad, as well as good, things happen. He answered that they really don't make things happen here that would interfere with your own path. Not that they can't make things happen, they just don't interfere. He talked about a cousin of his who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. This cousin's husband opened a desk drawer at work and found a thank you card from John's mother. John's cousin and her husband own their business and he's in and out of his desk all the time. When he discovered the card from John's mother, who crossed twelve years ago, they called John to tell him and to see what he thought it meant. He said his mom was just letting them know she's around and she sees what's happening and what they're going through.
Someone asked about what he feels physically. Does he really feel the physical pain of the people who are coming through to him. He said he does but not as intensly as the person who had the experience. (Thank God) He alked about his early experiences with "sympathetic or empathetic pain." About trying to stand and falling on his face because he couldn't feel his leg. And about trying to do a Numerology chart for a woman and every time he worked on it he would get a black eye. If he put it away, the eye would get better. If he worked on the chart, the black eye would come back. When she came to pick up the chart, she'd had an allergic reaction to some eye makeup. Her eye had needed some pretty serious treatment and she was left with a black eye.

I'm going to break this up into two posts. Readings to follow....

OOPS! This should be in the Seminar Tour discussion and I don't no how to move it.

Thanks for all the info, Sandra -- sounds great!

Perhaps JE is going back to doing the lectures again, instead of jumping right into the readings, as so many of the seminars in the past year or so have done. Love those talks!

I agree with you TXJUDE. I get really upset if the last 30 seconds of CO gets cut off. He always has some interesting insights into the process that aren't covered during the show. I do like the readings but I guess I am interested in how this whole thing works and why it works. Thanks Phigalilly for your very interesting and informative notes. I really appreciate the time you took in taking such complete notes. AmyJ:D

Amy, I know what you mean. Very often, that last minute or so while the credits are rolling contain the most important message of the day.

Poor JE, I guess he's just trying hard to make everyone happy. The seminar attendance has gotten so large that he's probably trying to squeeze in as many readings as possible during that 2 1/2 - 3 hrs., which cuts into the lecture and meditation time.

At a couple of the seminars that I've attended in the past year, as soon as John said, "I'm going to jump right into the readings," the crowd cheered.

I guess he and his staff are trying different things, trying to accomodate everyone. Remember when there was no Q & A portion of the seminar? Also, it could be that they base their decisions on the size of the crowd and the time frame.

I love the end segments too!!
Wish they were longer sometimes..lol.
I've been known to fast forward thru the readings especially if they are ones that I've seen more than once or twice to get to them.

Thanks for the report, that was wonderful!!

Wonderful report, Phigalilly. Thank you so much.

It made me hope that John is taping all the lectures and Q/A. Wouldn't that be a great fourth book?

I hope it's taped for TV . My friend is going I told her they might be taping. I like watching the end with the questions and audience comments. I think it would be neat to see a montage of his "faces" and comments "oh yea you do !":lwink:

I have a question about the taping that seems to be happening at quite a few of the seminars recently, and some coming up in the near future.

When these seminars are taped, are those who are read required to stay behind and sign a waiver or something, giving the staff permission to use those readings on "Crossing Over"?

What if someone in the audience has something very personal brought up in a reading? It's one thing to share it with 1500 people, but to have it broadcast and seen by millions is another matter altogether.

What if that person doesn't want his/her reading aired? Can they object, withhold permission?

I believe that before they show any reading on CO they need a release to be signed. I had to sign quite a few papers after my reading. I know what you mean about the personal stuff because that is exactly what did happen to me. That's why I talk about what came through so freely around here. It was so specific and personal (and true) that I felt that it should be shared to show the accuracy of the work he does and I felt if it was that bad my parents wouldn't have come through with it. (Plus, once you sign a waiver allowing it to be seen fom sea to shining sea, what's the big deal talking about it among a few "friends".) Amy

I'm happy they are taping some of the seminars. With all of his seminar tours, John wouldn't have time to do enough Gallery readings to satisfy everyone's desire for new shows. I wonder now when he gets time to really relax. We don't want him burned out from the demands put on him.

Another good thing about taping seminars -- most of the skepticism seems to be directed at the studio tapings of Crossing Over, since the staff has so much control over the venue itself. Not very likely that these convention centers and hotels are in on some elaborate hoax.

Now, the seminar readings can be presented as they happened, with thousands of people present. Those who attended can see it again on Crossing Over and say, "Yep. That's exactly how it happened."

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. :) I was at the SF seminar and got read. If there's anyone who was there, please drop me an e-mail. I was so dazed while getting my reading that I didn't really grasp it all and I'm hoping someone might remember it and clue me in!! HA!!

Thanks! :)
