For those of you who were at Chicago, and heard John mention this song to the family who had lost the son to the gunshot around last Mother's Day - here is the song lyrics, and the Mp3 (thanks Cyndy!)

Mp3:

Artist: Josh Groban
Album: Josh Groban
Song: To Where You Are

Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration
Can it be (?)
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

I know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Thanks for posting the lyrics and mp3 for that beautiful song. Very thought-provoking, and very timely for me.

This has been a rough 5 days with my sister's death anniversary and birthday just passing. :(

Every now and then I need that little wake-up call. Janice (my sister) usually finds a way to provide it.

Hi,
I saw Josh Groban perform this song twice, on the now cancelled Ally McBeal. On the show, Groban acted as a young
man whose mother was murdered in a random act of violence.
He and his Father - who was a minister in the story - had both
lost faith. His father wanted to quit his job because he questioned his belief in God, And Josh's character quit singing
after his mothers death.
Of course, at the end, Ally McBeal convinced them that she was
still with them, watching over them. It ended with the father conducting a Christmas Eve ceremony, and Josh sung that song.
T.V. rarely makes me cry, but . . .
Julie
p.s. If it is rerun this summer, please tape it.

I sent it on to two special people who attended the Sharonville seminar with me...........it's very timely for them as well.
I have GOT to stop crying at work! I'm supposed to be tough......it's ruining my reputation!
Seriously.........extremely touching song.

Pam, Thanks for posting the words to the song "To Where You Are". When I bought the CD and listened to it, I really didn't pay too much attention to the words. Then one afternoon I was feeling somewhat sad and was listening to the CD and the song came on and I REALLY listened to it this time. It reminded me of my dad who passed away in December of last year. It made me feel like he was with me and letting me know that he was not far away. Thanks Dad! When I read the lyrics to the song, I got the chills. Thanks again Pam! Kim :D

Thanks a ton for the this post. I just emailed it to my friend who went to Chicago with me and my Aunt too.

My mom isn't doing well and is in ICU so this really helps.

Thanks again,
Kim

Thank you so much for the information on this song. I saw this session yesterday and it brought me to tears. It's very comforting to me to think my dad is just a breath away. :daisy:

Did anyone happen to see Josh Groban at Thanksgiving Parade?

I thought they said the song he was singing was "I Know you're There" but I can't find it anywhere!

Did anyone else catch it?

Yeah, I caught him on the parade and I think he sang "You're Still You." It's number three on his CD. I am pretty sure that was it. I hope that is helpful.

Okay. After coming here yesterday and listening to this song, with the volume up (like he was in the room with me), I woke up this morning with this song, and his voice playing in my head!

I saw him on PBS the other night. What a voice! And he is so young. He seemed so calm and spiritual when they chatted with him on the breaks.

Question: Months ago on Crossing Over there was a show where John introduced a singer and the singer sang a meaningful song. Was this guy Josh? I totally can't remember. Or was he someone else? I vaguely remember, but seem to think that the guy looked different. Can anyone answer this?

Thanks, Laurie.

You may be referring to Don Conoscenti. Check out this thread:

It just amazes me that I missed these two episodes. I think I've seen every other show, but have NEVER seen the show with Don's song or Josh's song. How can this be? It's just really weird. It will probably be replayed sometime when I need to hear the song for some reason.

Oh, I am VERY familiar with Don's song, "The Other Side"....it brings me to tears every time I hear it! Beautiful....just beautiful!

I was thinking that John brought out another singer that I wasn't aware of...Just checking. Thanks! :)

P/S....

WHY isn't Don Conoscenti better known?!? With talent like that, I just don't get it!
