"I don't think that any university on the planet will be able to help someone validate or prove an afterlife other than your own "knowing" that we exist after and that those that have gone on are still around. And the faith in the Guy Upstairs has to be there, and learning more about this can help people find out that they've already had an experience. And most people fear death because it's the greatest unknown. "

(Wow - just realized this thread was the 52nd thread - made within the first few days this board opened up!)

I want to thank everyone for the contributions to the "quotes" you see on the top of every page, every time you refresh the page. (There's a thread here somewhere where members contributed quotes.)

Inspired by the quote from John during his Aussie tour:

"Please help me to surrender my ego and serve."

I've added another type of quotes to the quote generator, "John Edward" quotes. (Why didn't we think of this before?!) Please watch for them!

If you have more John Edward quotes, please suggest them here, and please supply the "when" and "where" if you can, such as:

Crossing Over
A seminar City
A media interview.

A month and year, or exact date if you have it.

If you feel like spending some time in a positive way, anyone who wants to scan some of the John Edward Interview Transcripts (http://www.johnedwardfriends.org/transcripts/transcripts.shtml) for quotes to add, and copying them here with the source, I'm sure we would all be greatful. I will then add them to the quote generator.

Another source for some great quotes, are from the Interviews and Articles Page at JohnEdwardFriends.org (http://www.johnedwardfriends.org/links/links-art.shtml) which are links to positive (or at least balanced) articles about John, or interviews with John.

Thank you for contributing to this community!

From Biograpy Mag April 2002

"It's just an energy, born out of love; it's your family and friends who want to let you know that they're still connected to you. And to me, that's a gift, nothing that scared me."

When asked about maintaing personalities on The Other Side, John stated,

"Death does not bring immediate wisdom."

When asked whether he worries about negative energies around him, John replied,

"I have found that the negative and evil energies are those who are still living."

"So I feel like, you know, we need to kind of help explain a little bit better where heaven might be for that person in their belief system. And I use the example of a glass. I say, when we're born, you know, this is our body and, you know, God pours the soul into the body. Over a lifetime, what happens to that water? A child would knows through school that it evaporates and that it changes form. Why? Because they have been taught that. They're taught that the water will change form and it will evaporate.

And it kind of lets them know that the energy, the soul that evaporates out of the body is like the air and it's all around them. And it's much more comforting for a child to know that their grandfather is all around them, rather than that far-off place, heaven, that they want to know how to get there. "

I have this written on a piece of paper and taped to my closet door. It's not one of his fuzziest moments:D , but I find it important to remember to...

Cut the crap and focus on what's going on here!

I think it's from Crossing Over, possibly the 'Cranky Psychic' ep., I'll have to try and hunt it down.

1) Let it go
2) Dont defend your belief system

and

(from "What if God where the Sun" John Edward)
"...anytime a special memory comes into my mind. It's like a wave that washes onto the shore. The tide brings in the memory and soaks the shore...and it absorbs the water. Our memories are the waves, and we are the shore. When we cry, we release the negative part of the memory and pay tribute to it. The sad part is pulled out to sea...out of you"
