Well, Bob, that scared the crap out of me! I kept thinking it was going to have a happy ending. Guess it just doesn't have an ending. And to think I used to wish I could see spirits. No thank you! God bless those people.

Whew, creepy....

You would think with all that there is out there, someone would have suggested to the family to have the house "blessed". Or even do a psyhic cleansing.

If they really want Heidi and her mother to accept that they are mediums as the medium suggested (not sure was her name Amy - the one with the black hair), then maybe direct them with what they can do to help educate themselves. Instead of letting them be at their wits end.

Did anyone notice what was on the windshield of the car, when the girl psyhic drove up to their house. She had 3 cards showing. Wonder if this was some type of protection, for her?

I like her response though, that an entity is drawn to a medium, like a light in a dark room.

RE :: Tanner :: I kept thinking it was going to have a happy ending.

I didn't really consider it an unhappy ending...not really "happy" though, as you say . I don't think there was anything anyone could do. Those with the "gift" just have to live with it.

RE :: nozy :: You would think with all that there is out there, someone would have suggested to the family to have the house "blessed". Or even do a psyhic cleansing.

That might help as far as the local spirits go, but.....since she was "receptive" ...... like John ...... wouldn't she attract more spirits anyway? And same for the sister.

This is an interesting situation to discuss, yes?

Yes Cbob . I to was thinking it was going to have a happy ending.

And yes, true if both her mother and her are receptive to the "spirit world", why hasn't someone suggested other methods, of how they might better understand what is happening.

Not that I have anything against religion. But why didn't the minister not go to the house, why annoint them, in his "domain". Was he scared, was he thinking that just by everyone praying and then clearing and annointing their head it was going to go away? Was he scared to go to their home?

Even if the show is old from a few years ago, surely back then there was talk of psychic's, fortune tellers, and ghosts. Somebody, knew somebody who knew something.

I wonder how Heidi, is doing now? Maybe she has even visited this site (hymmmmm kinda make you wonder?)

But yes, I could see how as a child, she would have been scared.

i think those were inspection stickers.. some states have two..

as for the movie..
hmm.

Well, I missed half of it.. but I do have it on tape..

HMM for a documentary, it seems to have left out the solution part.. I think.. Sort of just told the story almost loosely..
but it is an interesting source of discussion!

Not bad.. and I agree.. I did like the way the medium described what mediums are like to spirits,

I kept thinking that they needed a smudge kit.

I was glad the minister didn't turn on the people and even called them extra sensitive to spirits. Some Christian churches would have proclaimed them as the demons. I was glad to see the approach he took. Certainly couldn't hurt to surround themselves with prayer.

I remember the psychic also said something about the negative energies feed off fear. Maybe I'm not putting it right, but something like that.

By the way, how do you explain the pysical scratches?

RE ::: By the way, how do you explain the pysical scratches?

You know.....that is a good question. Has anyone been watching Sightings....and the "Heartland Hauntings" ?? Those folks had the very same kinds of scratches.

But......as John and Suzane have said.....spirits are NOT capable of doing damage unless we let them do it. And it is usually through our own fears. Let's discuss this !!

I bet Pam will come in and save us....LOL.

(Let's see if she is watching.)

I have watched the show "Sightings" only occasionally. Is the "Heartland hauntings" on a different show?

I was under the impression that ghosts can't hurt you. Only poltergeists can??

But then again, if you look at mind games you can play with your head, "Did I see it, or didn't I? Did I imagine that or not?" that can make a person lose it to.

I was really creeped out about this. I think this is a great topic for discussion. Does anyone know when this was taped? I was wondering, if it was taped a while back, if they are going to do an update. That would be interesting. Like most of you said, there were so many different things they could have touched on for those people, but just left it hanging....

And with JE making the world take notice, it would be interesting to do an update.

And what is the difference between a ghost, spirt, and poltergeist? I know the latter cause problems, but I never thought they were physical with living humans. There are just so many different questions to ask. I know John can "turn off" his energies most of the time, wonder if these people could be trained to do the same.

I would hate to be in their position. But I know one thing, every room in my house would be lit at night. I don't like dark corners in rooms anyway. I have always thought "bad things" can hide there, ha ha.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the show and hope they do an update at some point.

Sightings is on SciFi channel.......6 am Central time. Mostly repeats, but if you haven't been there....will be new to you.

Lots of good stories, but be selective.......many UFO stuff in with some good things. Lot of NDE's and psychic stuff too.

cbob.........what are the Heartland hauntings?

I haven't seen anything abou this before?

I have a email friend, who recently purchased a home that is known to have "energies" (ghosts) in it. At first she was excited, thought it was no big deal. Until "things" started happening. She hired a construction crew to come in and do some work, and they did for awhile, then they quit. Anyway, she was posting alot of the stuff on the internet, of things that were happening. But for some reason she found they were upset about this, and she stopped putting her chronicles on the internet. And I guess they calmed down.

The heartland ghost story was shown several times on Sightings. They went back many times to follow up on it, so it was actually a different story each time. I do not remember what city it was in.

I do remember that they had a lot of the Sightings staff personnel there, plus different psychics. The staff members got kinda shook up a few times. One time they saw red marks just suddenly appear on one of them......almost like scratches.

And...of course.....there were the "cold spots" and other standard stuff.

Maybe the Sightings web site has something on it.

cbob...........I caught this mornings segmunt on Sightings regarding the Heartland Ghost. It showed Jeff, the male family member having scratches on him. As well they did a tape, and a paranormal sound came on.

Anyway, they did say that the family will be moving shortly, and they will follow-up with the family to see if the Heartland Ghost follows.

should be interesting.........

Good work !! I probably saw that segment. I don't watch Sightings any more cause they are all repeats.

But that haunting was on several times, and they kept following up.

cbob, I don't recall having discussed this haunting before, but I'll take your word for it. Just so everyone is clear, this forum is not about discussing hauntings in the "chilling" manner. The forum is intended to further the spiritual message and life after physical life. These above posts seem to be more about scary stuff, aren't they?

Please correct me if I'm wrong

Thank you, thank you cbob!
Halloween is my favorite time of the year because they always have a lot of good paranormal stuff on. It makes me wonder about the people who don't quite make it to the other side or if there are other forces at work.

After reviewing the description of these events at TVGuide dot com, they do indeed to be more of a 'chilling' and 'scary' nature. I am closing this thread, but leaving it as a service to members who are interested in seeing this type of paranormal investigation.

Thanks for bumping this thread up cbob. I do remember it now. For everyone's information, this forum is not concerned with spooky ghost stories.

With Halloween fast approaching we will see an influx of these types of shows and posts about them. We try to stay focused on the positive message and not concern ourselves with hauntings, demonic possesions and other such scary stories. NOT that we don't believe they exist, we just don't discuss them on this forum.

I'm sorry to squash the conversation :(

If you've something to add that is more in keeping with the purpose of this forum, please start another thread. I'm closing this one, however belatedly. If you wish to discuss ghost hauntings etc, please start a thread at http://www.spiritdiscovery.com/disc

Sorry again.
