Since this is a charity event (fund raiser) the cost may not be typical of his seminars. But in the past the US seminars have run about $45 per ticket.

I saw somewhere that the tickets were $50. We are about 8 hours away. Keeping my fingers crossed maybe hubby will say yes.

I just read where tickets go on sale today for a benefit/seminar given by John to aid a foundation named for Lucille Ball. It will be held in her hometown of Jamestown, NY and will be taped for TV. Good luck!

I immediately looked up Jamestown on Expedia. Unfortunately, it's over 6 hours away for me and this isn't a good time for long trips. Oh well. I hope some of you get to go. :)

The hubby and I are due for a trip and this is perfect! I called and am now on hold while the ticket person waits for the seminar to 'come up' on the computer. I don't mind listening to show tunes for a while while I wait, either! I hope we all can get tickets and see each other there. Now, exactly where is Jamestown! Seems like a good cause to me...think of Lucy on the chocolate line!!!:laff:

Hehe... I bet the coming seminars are going to be close to home for a while. Am happy for all of you who live nearby, and especially for the first-timers. I've never heard anyone wish they could get their money back. :)

We are actually 400+ miles away so we will probably stay for two nights! A mini vacation!

I'm having shoulder surgery the week before this seminar so I'll be out of work on medical leave. I bought myself a ticket. It will be something fun to do while I'm on the mend. Pam

I was so excited when I saw that the seminar was in NY. Until I looked at the map and saw where Jamestown was. It is about seven and a half hours away from where I live. I am going to try to see if I can find a train that would go up there. Oh--- I really want to go!!:(

Thank you soooo much for bringing attention to this. I searched the site daily to find out anything new and finally gave up for a while. I am in Illinois and would gladly travel to attend a seminar, and in Jamestown of all places( big Lucy fan)! Hope they aren't all sold out.

Looking at the map, it looks like Jamestown is about 70 miles Southwest of Buffalo. Don't know if that helps anyone. I've found Expedia.com to be a good tool for travel. It's at www.expedia.com. Click "Maps", then "Driving Directions", then type in your info. I've used it a bunch of times and found it to be pretty accurate.

To pegasus214... I just checked out Amtrak.com (which I also use all the time) and what luck, there is an Amtrak stop in Jamestown. It looks like it would probably take you all day to get there, but the train's not so bad. I kind of enjoy it, and it's a beautiful time of year for taking in the scenery. I wasn't sure where in NJ you were coming from, so I just typed in NJ and it gave me a route starting at Penn, and I think, changing in Buffalo. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys!

I spent half the day on the phone and on the computer trying to hook up with Amtrack. I was told I had to go into NYC. (No trains in my area go up to Jamestown.) Pick up the train there, it would take me to Buffalo, where I would board a bus shuttle and then it would take me 4 hours to get to Jamestown. Where is this Jamestown??? All this, and then tickets are sold out!!! I guess you have to work fast or it's too late. But thanks to all of you who tried to help me. You are all so sweet. :D

I guess we ought to grab the opportunity while it is available! Fortunately Philly is an easy drive compared to Jamestown!

My friend and I got tickets for Jamestown (380 miles away) and then I got on his site today to see that he will be in Philly. Oh well, a weekend away for the girls sounds good to me. I have already made reservations for Saturday and Sunday nights!! Can't wait!!!

Lorri,

Where did you call for information on getting to Jamestown? I finally got a ticket and I live in Buffalo and am trying to find a way to get to Jamestown from here. Thanks for the info! Lori :nurse:
