Event Time 10:30am-1:00pm
Doors open 9:00am Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

Phila. was listed as a potential seminar in the Bridges issue of Oct.-Dec. 2001, but did not take place. So here it is now!
Have fun!! < tics go on sale Oct. 5th >
I've been anxiously waiting for the Philly seminar but that Saturday is my granddaughter's first birthday. She takes priority so I'll wait for the next one.
Good point, Gail. FD and I will bring the ice cream. :)
10-03-2002, 01:30 PM
I just checked out the seminar page to see the Philly info, and Jamestown is SOLD OUT. I hope all of you who wanted tickets, got them. I wouldn't waste any time on the Philly tickets either. I bet John could sell-out Madison Square Garden in a day. Okay, that's the biggest place I can think of, but I know there are bigger. :)
10-03-2002, 02:41 PM
I have waited all year for this! Only 1 hour from my house!
There is nothing like seeing John live.
I've been to (3) other seminars, and sure hope I can manage to get tickets this time as well.
I will be quite honest, I have not even seen all of the old shows of Crossing Over, much less the new ones. Where I am at, I'm at the mercy of SciFi, and 11pm is too late for me to stay up. In addition, I am too lazy to make sure my VCR is set and ready every day to tape the shows. So, my point is.......
I enjoy watching him on TV, but to see him in person takes the cake.
This was a lift my soul needed!
Now, to be able to get the tickets..........
10-03-2002, 11:58 PM
Anyone know what time the tix go on sale on Saturday?:bulb:
10-04-2002, 07:44 AM
I guess it's not meant for me to be at this one. This is the same day as my niece's first birthday party, and she takes precedent (besides, missing a grand event like a first bday party would be in direct conflict with the whole CAV concept :) )
Maybe John will add a seminar either Friday night or Sunday. Philly is only about 2 or 2 1/2 hours away.
10-04-2002, 07:54 AM
Where do you buy the tickets for Philly???? Is Ticketmaster selling them?
10-04-2002, 08:06 AM
sbuchick and dwing: As posted on his site, check back for details.

Does anyone have info as to where we can purchase tix for the Philadephia seminar?? John's website says they go on sale tomorrow but no other details! I checked the ticketmaster site this afternoon and they had no info on the Philly tix.
I'm so excited that he's coming to Philly . . . don't want to miss out!!!
10-04-2002, 07:56 PM
I am so excited!! I am going to Philly also. It is only 4 hours away. But where do we get the tickets?? I too, don't want to miss out. :D
10-04-2002, 11:28 PM

10-05-2002, 12:13 AM
Thank you Giggles 1972! Got my tickets and I am going to see John. I am so hyped, I will never get to sleep tonight. Philly, here I come!! Three weeks to go!! :jumper:
10-05-2002, 12:38 AM

10-05-2002, 08:42 AM
I'm going too:jumper: Just got off computer ordering. It is so easy:D Six of us going. Just a hop:jumper: skip .:stick: and a jump away.
10-05-2002, 11:19 AM
Oh yeah........count me IN!!!!!!!!!
Tickets are ordered, and I can't contain myself :)
10-05-2002, 12:40 PM
My wife Susan & I will be there also. Its been too long - since St. Louis last year. We will be wearing our CAV t-shirts. And Since I'm a big guy (as in wide, not tall :-) we should be easy to spot.
10-05-2002, 05:09 PM
You guys! This will be so much fun! I am going from '0' John Edward seminars to '2' within a six-day period! Ok, so if the seminar starts at 10 am, what time should we be there for 'general admission' seating? If you tried to get a hotel room, you will have found that there is a HUGE nephrology conference in town - the kidneys have taken all the rooms close to the Mariott!! Oh, well...it would have been nice to stay in the same hotel as the seminar but what the heck! We'll just have to rough it! Will JohnEdwardFriends be flying pink balloons so we will know each other??:crowd:
:lwink: :jumper:
10-05-2002, 06:35 PM
I was so busy patting myself on the back about getting tickets to the Philadelphia seminar, that I forgot today was the day to call in for gallery tickets.  Oh well, in three weeks I will see John anyway!!! :lwink:
10-05-2002, 07:42 PM
From past experience the line starts forming a good hour before the doors open up for general admissions. When we went to Clombus Ohio we are ther about 1 1/2 hrs ahead of time and were about 50 others all ready there. I'm going to be there by 8a.m.
10-05-2002, 10:07 PM
I just got my seminar tickets:D and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the venue. The Marriot is nice but how many people do you think can be fit in there? I'm hoping it's more intimate than those big thousand seat places. Also, I suppose it's general admission, right? I don't have seat numbers and there wasn't a seating chart available anyway. Maybe it will be a nice intimate little setting with just us "friends" and John!
10-06-2002, 07:12 AM
The Philadelphia and Ohio seminars will be in excess of 3,000 per venue. :(
I asked Telecharge when I called for my tickets. I believe that's comparable to the amount of people that were at the Indianapolis seminar last year (seminar attendees help me out).
I was also in New Haven last year, and there were 900-1000 people there. It was much nicer, in that it was easier to see John, and watch the people being read.
Don't get me wrong......Indy was still wonderful....in fact, of the three seminars I went to, Indy had an indescribable "energy" about it that no other seminar has had (for me).
3,000 is still ALOT of people, but it's still seeing John do his stuff...
(and I don't even have any relatives I'm looking to contact), so I'm bringing my sister in law along this time......maybe HER relatives will manage to drag John over to our section, LOL.
10-06-2002, 09:00 AM
Over 3000?? We will need binoculars to see John. I hope that isn't true.
I went to the Marriott Downtown Website and they give a panoramic view of different rooms. I hope it is'nt in the Grand Ballroom. It is huge!!! Looks like it seats more than 3000.
10-06-2002, 09:18 AM
thank you fro all the thanks, but actaully the thnaks go to my boyfriend...he is the one who initially figured it all out....i fiugurd out the rest...see, I called the Marriot and they would not give me any info...so, my boyfriend Donny called back and also asked for info on how to get tickets, which of course he got the same response "we do not know anything"...so, he proceeded to say "you are having an event there, and you know nothing about it"....and the lady was then nice enough to give him the telecharge phone number....i immeditalty called of course(all this being on friday oct 4) and the guy that anwsered said tickets do not going on sale until oct 5, and to call back around 10.....so, hum, i am thinking to myself.....telecharge, I bet they have a web site....WAALAA, they do...and I'll bet(i'm saying to myself), that if i log onto telecharge.com at 12:01AM, i'll bet they will start selling tickets, and WAALAA!!!!!! by 12:10AM I HAVE TICKETS!!!!
so all, it was really my boyfriend that helped us all out.....I just helped with the finishing touches.

Hubby and I figured if he was starting seminars Philly may be one of them but since Jamestown came up first we didn't want to take any chances. So hubby is so thoughtful he said we would go to both. Now if AC comes up who knows:confused: (He did mention if it was 2 days we wouldd attend both ) :lwink: I'm not going to pass up a good deal if hubby is in a good mood.:P
10-06-2002, 07:13 PM
I am going to Philly, but if Atlantic City comes up I will be there also Sandy!!!
If Atlantic City comes up again, it should be the same as last year, assigned seats and under 1,400 people. My daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law will all want to go.
10-06-2002, 07:55 PM
You guys I am so thrilled and jealous at the same time. The excitement is really contagious. I can't wait to hear all about the seminars.
10-07-2002, 08:58 AM
Well I'm green, but truly happy for all of you going to the Jamestown and Philly seminars. Philly wouldn't be a bad trip for me, but this just isn't a good time for me to be away overnight. Now, if an AC seminar pops up, that could be a different story. That's somewhere mom would go-with. :)
10-07-2002, 10:15 AM
:jumper:Well everybody, I'm finally going to see John. This is so weird. Sunday was my birthday (a BIG one by the way), so I've been celebrating with different friends, staff & family since Thursday. Saturday was my biggest celebration so I never got to check John's seminars plus I forgot it was the first Sat. of the month (which is so unlike me--I miss parts of parties so I can call.) Anyway, I had just finished drying my hair on Saturday & thought before I got ready, I'd watch Crossing Over from Friday. I saw about getting Gallery tickets & grabbed the phone (3:30) & starting calling--busy, busy, busy. So I said to my sister-in-law's deceased mother (who my sister-in-law so badly needs to hear from), "Dolly, you're gonna have to help me here--if we're meant to get tickets, please help because I don't have a lot of time to keep calling." No dice, so it seemed. I went to my party--had a great time & Sunday checked John's website--Philly seminar, tickets on sale YESTERDAY! What were my chances?! I never called until 7 P.M. Sunday & I GOT TICKETS! As I was giving my info, I realized that Dolly had helped. So thanks, Dolly, my dream has come true!!!
10-07-2002, 07:12 PM
According to John's website, Philly is sold out already. You have to really call in fast, if you hesitate, you miss out!!
10-07-2002, 07:31 PM
The otherside is so amazing! I am so happy for you! You will love the seminars. They are wonderful and inspiring. They have changed my life and I have never been read by John!
10-07-2002, 08:35 PM
we are going to have to meet in the chat room before the seminars to see who is going. I already told Lou (son) I am wearing a black tee shirt with a big smiley face on it. (don't know which seminar though) ;)
10-08-2002, 07:20 AM
count me in.

WOW. that is great.
10-08-2002, 03:09 PM
I'll be there too!
I saw John in the Gallery in Sept and I am so excited to have the chance to see him again!
He is so much more amazing in real life!
What time is everyone going to get there? It is General Admission seating, right?
Do you think this one will be filmed for Crossing Over? The website said that the Jamestown one would be filmed, but it didnt say that for Philly, so does that mean it definitely wont be?
Lemmeneaux about that chat time!
10-09-2002, 06:31 PM
My tickets were in today's mail. I am really going!:lwink:
I have never been to Philadelphia. I am going to drive there and it will certainly be an adventure. I'll be loaded down with directions and maps, and hope my "guides" help lead me there.
I can't wait!!:jumper:
10-10-2002, 06:55 AM
Just waiting for the tickets now. I guess the Jamestown will come first. Hubby runs out to the mail box everyday when the mail person goes by. I think he is more worked up this time around than I am. (and from a skeptic:eek: ) don't say they don't change:P
10-10-2002, 09:14 AM
My friends and I got a hotel room about 20 blocks up, even though we only live about 20 miles from the Marriott. The room is free thanks to a friend and he's working on getting us a limo ride to the show! Now all I need are my tickets!:jumper:
10-11-2002, 10:33 AM

I tried to see if there were still tickets for Friday Nov. 1 in Philly. As of 7:45 PM they still had tickets available. Just wanted to let peoplle know if they were interested.
10-13-2002, 10:58 AM
Thanks so much for the info....... I wanted to go so much since I
live only about two hours from Philly but we had another really
important commitment on Nov.2.
Now thanks to you guys posting the information I will be going
on Friday night to see John.Yahoooooo..........I just ordered my
tickets.I have never been to such a large seminar before.I went to him John in Atlantic City and Pittsburg but I just can't pass the chance up to see him again.......
10-13-2002, 05:29 PM
We got tickets for friday's seminar!! I can't wait for them to come in the mail! We (my daughters and I) are spending the night at my brother's. He only lives 15 minutes from the marriott. So it will be an extra special time for us! Hope to meet some of you there! :jumper:
10-14-2002, 02:19 PM
Sorry. Fans. Both Friday and Saturday Philadelphia performance are sold out. Rats.
10-14-2002, 02:59 PM
In reference to large venues...
Good question. I've seen John twice, once in Dallas, and once in Austin, and they were both in 'auditorium' settings.
A few thousand people. But remember, it doesn't matter where you're sitting to get a reading. It was amazing how many people from the balconies, or last rows were read.
(high fives to them) Maybe the Marriott will be more intimate. Wouldn't THAT be nice? I'm looking forward to a vacation, and the seminar.
I've never been to Philly before. Can't wait. Maybe three's the charm.
Also... I called in to receive gallery tickets last month, and after months and months of trying, finally got through. (funny story how THAT happened) I gave my info, but now I wonder, IF I'm randomly selected, how soon do they contact you?
Is it just for the month that I got through? And, if that's the case, does that mean that I have to call every month???? Can someone help me?
Don't want to bog down the system if I don't have to.
10-14-2002, 04:27 PM
Did you get yours yet??
10-14-2002, 04:38 PM
Yes Jamestown tickets cam Friday and Phila tickets came on Saturday.
hope to see you there
10-16-2002, 01:14 PM
10-18-2002, 11:28 AM
I have a question...
My husband and I are attending the Nov. 2nd seminar in Philly. BUT, we''ll be driving from Atlantic City. (Johnny Mathis the night before) Can someone tell me how long it realistically takes to drive from AC to Philly? The map sites usually don't take into account predictable traffic jams, etc. People who live in the area know better. Also, we're having a heck of a time finding a decent hotel in Philly.
Hubby thinks that by the time we find a place on the other side of town (that's an IF) then it would be just as easy to stay in AC. True or False?
We're then driving to NYC. Any ideas how long that takes? We usually don't drive from one place to another, so I'm at a loss, here. THAT'S why I like planes!
Also, for those of us who are going on the 2nd. Do you realize that it's the first Saturday of the month?? Take your cell phones!
10-18-2002, 11:43 AM
Deb-I'll email you off the board with that info. Thanks Cyndy
10-26-2002, 08:08 AM
One more week!!! Nov. 2. I have never been to Philly before, so I have no clue as to where I am going. I have maps and directions, and according to Map Quest, it will take me about 3 hours. I will leave real early, I don't want to be late!!! :jumper: :D Does anyone know if there is available parking at the hotel?
10-26-2002, 08:28 AM
Pegasus--you may want to check out the link above in a prior post.......the link is for the Marriott. :)
10-26-2002, 10:59 PM
Thanks for the link. Acording to the map that I got from the Marriott, it will only take me 2 hours, not 3, to get there. Will you be going to the Nov. 2 date?
10-29-2002, 06:40 PM
who is attending the Nov. 2 Philly seminar ? I am going with Hubby , son, his girlfriend , sister-in-law and cousin.
10-29-2002, 06:55 PM
I think quite a few of us are going.
Some on Friday and some on Saturday.
Hubby and I are both really looking forward to it.
In fact, as we speak, I'm getting my 'list' together.
It's the same list I've used the last two times, but sadly, with a few added.
I'm so worried about forgetting my own name, I've developed a two part list.
Alphabetical names (first names), then another lists with cause of death.
Everybody who died of THIS, stand over HERE.
Everybody who died of THAT, stand over THERE.
I need a wheelbarrow! :P
10-29-2002, 07:27 PM
OK, guess I'm going to be the "psychic hog" this time........
Got tickets to both Friday AND Saturday
Its only a little over an hour away, so I couldn't resist.
I convinced myself I deserved it ;)
Mom and I are spending the day in Philly, then going to the seminar Friday night.
Saturday, taking my husbands twin daughters, and my sis in law.
I am just too excited :jumper:
10-29-2002, 07:41 PM
If I had known they were going to have a seminar for Friday, I would have gotten tickets for that event, too.
(Heck, I don't mind being called names)
We're flying in on Thursday night, so my Friday is free to roam.
But, I'll take what I can get, and I'm just happy to be going.
Whether we're read or not, it's quite an experience!
10-30-2002, 09:04 AM
Deb7073 if you haven't left for phila yet you might try showing up at the Marriott for firday night show from past experience some one might have extra tickets to sell for what they paid for them. You might get luckey
10-30-2002, 10:06 AM
If we're not too pooped from sightseeing, I'll make sure we're out front. Good idea!
Of course, if others are also out there looking for tickets, but they've never been before, I couldn't take the tickets.
However, if I'm the only one out there, or if others are out there who have attended before, then I'm ready to jump in and BEG.
10-30-2002, 11:31 AM
I will be at Saturday's show with my mom...We are really excited
10-30-2002, 12:38 PM
Sandy - Rog and I will be getting up early on Saturday to make the drive up to Philly. We will probably leave around 6 am. My brother came to stay with my dad and the kitties last weekend for Jamestown but I have no kitty/dad sitter this time so we will have to make a quick trip. We will take whatever seats we can get when we get there...hopefully no standing/sitting in line. We have to be back in the late afternoon because of the diabetic kitty we have! I will keep an eye out for you!!
10-30-2002, 03:12 PM
I will be at the seminar on Nov. 2nd with three friends. What time is everyone getting there? By the way, I had a cool JE dream last night. He came up to me and stared into my eyes and said, "I'm already connecting with you." I literally melted in the dream and in real life, and woke up with a smile on my face!:D
10-30-2002, 04:28 PM
WOW Greta! What a dream!
If he comes to you, you'd better let us know it's YOU!
Yell, scream, jump up and down, or you could faint.
Take your pick.
And if it happens to me, I believe that I'll choose faint!
How does one react to a life altering experience like THAT?
We're looking forward to it, too.
Did someone say there's going to be 3000 people in attendance?
I don't think I've been to one that big before. WOW!
I don't mind (like I have a choice) as long as I don't have to stand. As we all know, it really doesn't matter where we're sitting. He'll find us!
I'll be going with hubby, and there's really nobody better to be with than my best friend. So, the day will be good, no matter what.
Good luck to everyone! Let's hope it's meant for ALL of us to get readings!
10-30-2002, 08:54 PM
You'll know it's me because I'll definitely faint!:goofy:
10-30-2002, 09:28 PM
Well, if you faint, I'll stand up and yell, 'I know that woman!!'
10-30-2002, 10:17 PM
Can you also run over and revive me? I don't want to miss a second of whatever John has to say!!:jumper:
10-30-2002, 10:19 PM
YOU'RE the one I'll be reviving! :P
Hope your dream comes true! That would be a treat for us all.
10-30-2002, 11:21 PM
Does anyone have any details on the event? In what room at the Marriott? Will we have to wait on line outside or can we wait inside the hotel? When we went to the seminar in Atlantic City, we were able to wait inside, right outside the auditorium.
I'll be there with my sister. 2 more days!!!:D I can't wait.
10-31-2002, 07:03 AM
Hi! I was without a computer for a day or two but count me in on going to the seminar.
Will be arriving around 5:30 pm Friday night....and meeting a new member from here......there will be seven, total.
Does anyone want to meet in the lobby/entrance at that time (5:30)?
...and does anyone want to chat tonight, say 7 or 8 pm? Post here if you do.
Hope to meet some of you there.
Safe travels everyone!!
10-31-2002, 07:15 AM
We're flying out this afternoon, so I can't participate in your evening chat. Lobby at 5:30. How will we all know each other.
10-31-2002, 07:19 AM
Deb, I'll bring a pink rose.
Safe travels for you and your hubby ;)
10-31-2002, 07:22 AM
Thanks. You be safe, too.
See you there! :)
Deb, have a safe trip! Enjoy the seminar and meeting up with all the other Friends who are attending!
10-31-2002, 08:50 AM
I won't be back until next week, so I won't know who got read (maybe me????) until then.
Can't wait to see.
Don't they start the Crossing Over contest this coming Monday?
Until I return, I've got friends checking the name, then two-waying me.
I'm wishing each and every one of us good luck with THAT, too.
AND, don't forget this coming Saturday is the first Saturday of the month! Pick up your phones...get ready...set... DIAL!!!!
10-31-2002, 05:43 PM
Can we meet Saturday Morning before the Seminar? I'm going to be wearing black pants and a purple sweater...you can't miss me...I'm heavy with a white Cast on my right leg...and I'm currently walking with a cane...I hope I can meet some of you..I am really looking forward to it..Mom will be wearing a green coat and black pants...my coat is Black.
10-31-2002, 07:11 PM
Anyone to the chatroom to talk about Pa.??
11-01-2002, 10:26 PM
Waiting patiently for news from Philly...
11-02-2002, 04:48 AM
It's almost 6 am and Rog is packing up the cold drinks for our 2.5 hour trip!! Hope everyone has a safe journey today and receives all the comfort, support and insight that they need.:musicnote :musicnote :musicnote
