View Full Version : Wow! My recent experience

My 16 year old son, Ryan, passed away on March 18, 2002. I am still raw with emotion from the sudden and unexpected loss of my precious child. I had never heard of John Edward or Crossing Over. I don't want to say that I was a skeptic, but I wasn't a full believer. Aside from playful readings at fairs from Madam Crystal Ball, I never really "bought" into the idea of psychics and mediums.

After Ryan passed, many friends suggested that I watch Crossing Over. I was touched by what I saw, but not sure it was real. A friend told me that she had been trying to get tickets to the Gallery for about 6 months and wasn't able to get through, but would continue to try and would bring me if she got tickets. Sure enough, the next month she got through. A few weeks later, she got the call. Unfortunately, the air date was July 9, 2002 and I was going to be out of state on vacation.

Okay, I know at this point you probably want to shake some sense into me, but remember, I wasn't a believer. The thought of driving many hours to NYC, spending 6 hours at the studio and walking away without a reading when my grief was so new was just unbearable. I couldn't risk my emotions. I turned down the tickets. My sister offered to go in my place. We both said that if Ryan was going to come through, he would be happy to talk with his Aunt. Off they went and WOW!!!!!!!

It was so confusing. They were the 7th reading with many mixed messages. There was a strong Scooby Doo reference (do you remember that show?). My sister talked about the desperation of people in the gallery wanting every validation to be theirs. She kept silent until she heard more. Finally, John suggested that my sister, my friend and another woman (a friend of my friend) move to the sofa to continue the reading. The next thing he revealed was an "unsolved murder" or "unsolved passing." Bingo, that's my son!

So many facts about Ryan came through and I am certain that neither John nor his staff could have investigated and come up with this much information. They talked about the mystery around the cause of death, the 3 month anniversary celebration of Ryan's life, the journal that I keep at his grave, and that Ryan is buried near my grandfather. It is amazing! But what brought me hope was that John believes that we will learn what caused Ryan to pass so young.

A few days ago, I received a call from the Crossing Over studio. They want to come to my house and do a follow up interview with me and my sister. I am so excited! It is wonderful to get excited about something when the past 6 months have been so sad. Thank you John! And thank you to everyone for reading my message.

Hi Sherri
Welcome to the site!!!

I most certainly remember this episode!

It was one of the ones that moved me....
well they all move me but some are just *more* {more bang on} than others.

I'm so glad for you that, even though through your sister, you have had this opportunity, to learn about the message and to learn about what JE does.

I have found that from what I have learned from JE, Crossing Over, and from the people sharing their thoughts and experiences on this site, :crowd: I have become a more open minded person, more patient, more accepting.....the list goes on and on but in the end. . . . . it's nothing but good things.

I hope you have the same wonderful experiences here.

Let us know how your visit from the crew goes, Can't wait to see the follow up!!!!
:P

Most of us "seniors" on here have seen all of the shows and some over and over. We will be waiting to hear thr rest of your story.

Welcome. I know you will love this site and the people here. I too remember that show (I watch them all). From what everyone has to say, I am sure you will have a wonderful experience when JE's crew shows up at your place. He is a remarkable man and I just know his name is going to go down in history. I feel privileged to be involved with this group and I know you will too.

I too remember that episode as one that stood out. I am very sorry about your loss.
I am very happy you have found your way to John Edward and his message. In no way does it diminish your loss, but I do believe it can bring great comfort and this board will do the same.

Welcome, and please do let us know when your follow up will air. In the meantime, know your son is around you and continues to feel your love.

Welcome to our community Sherri!

I too remember your reading, and was very touched by it.

How wonderful to get a follow up! I'm in the camp that just LOVES follow ups - it brings so much more depth and meaning to the experience of watching someone else's reading.

Thank you, for sharing your story here, and in advance for the follow up you're about to do.

Tug your ear when you're on camera, to say hello to JE FREINDS - LOL! Just kidding....but wouldn't it be fun and cute? LOL....

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my post and taking the time to reply. It is so nice that people have an interest in my experience.

I received another call today from the producers at Crossing Over. They are ready to make their trip here on Monday. My sister is coming (and reading this board- Hi, Stacey) and we are so excited. I warned the producers that we tend to giggle alot when we get together, a nervous laughter thing. Hopefully, it won't look too silly on TV. :lwink: We will try to remember the signal ear tug, and hope it doesn't land on the editing room floor.

Thanks again,
Sherri

Well I guess I didn't do too bad, I found your testimonial.;)

Yes I do remember seeing that episode, very very touching, and I can understand your not wishing to go. Now that you have been read, through your sis, I am so looking forward to the follow up.
Stay strong, and I'm sure the CO crew will make you feel comfortable. Good luck, and hi to your sis also!! :)

Thanks Sherri! I'll be watching for it. Clue in the crew, and maybe they'll leave it? My experience with everyone from John's staff, and the Crossing Over staff has been nothing but caring, compassionate, and a class-A act.

Heck, if they can make me look half intelligent, they can do anything! It will turn out great, I'm sure. :)

Hey I remember that show to. It was so moving. Cuz I love Scobby Doo to, and just mentioning it made me tune in.

I am so happy for you.......like JE says if you are meant to get a reading you will, and the other side will use any means to get it through to you.

I am sorry for the loss of your son. If you have read the board enough you know that JE recommends the song by Josh Grobin "To where you are". (song 5 on the CD...it is so beautiful)

Don't forget to please tell us more about your follow-up.......and yes that is a good idea maybe we can tug at our ear if one of us get read. That way we know that this is a member of JE friends.

We had our interview yesterday! First I want to say that the crew from Crossing Over is wonderful! We had so much fun with these people that it was sad to see them go. The next thing I need to mention, and I am sorry, but I forgot the ear tug. :o They spent about 6 hours at my house for what will eventually be about 5-7 minutes worth of film. We laughed alot and shared many memories. It will be tough for them to narrow things down. My other children played with the crew. My daughter had them doing cheers (she's 10) and my son was wrestling with them (he's 3).

I will be happy to let everyone know when this show will air. I am told that the whole process takes about a month. Gosh, it is a lot of work! Overall, the experience was exhilarating!
