Oh wow, John is getting closer to Wyoming. I'm so excited. But Omaha is still 15 hours away. I wish I could take a peek at the rest of his agenda. Plane tickets are still out of my current price range, and heck, I have to drive 4 hours to catch the plane. But I may see if I can swing the drive. I guess I have until Tuesday to decide. I've e-mailed a friend and if she is ready for a road trip, we just might see ya there.

I just found a new seminar posting, besides the new Philly one. John is coming to Omaha.
It is not that close to Minneapolis, but at least I could drive it if I chose to go (about 6-8 hours). I am seriously thinking about it. Anyone else going to Omaha?

Minneapolis is not a bad drive from Omaha at all. Make it quite frequently myself! It is about 6 hours. Hope you can make it!

I am planning on going to the Omaha event. However, I was wondering if anyone knows the seating capacity of this place. I've never been to Omaha and can't seem to find the info on the net.
How early do you think people should line up? I've never been to one of his events, but I know that they are usually sold out immediately.
Anyone with info on this seminar??? Someone told me that the seating capacity was about 11,000!!!! I am going to be driving up from Kansas City area, and will probably spend the night before the seminar. But I need to know if I have to get in line in the middle of the night or what???
Thanks, Denise

This venue, the Music Hall, is a smaller auditorium in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium. It seats approximately 2400 people and is stadium (or theater) style seating. It has a main floor and two balcony levels. There is a floor plan on the Ticketmaster website.
I don't know this for a fact, but I am guessing that they will possibly do assigned seating for this event given the set up. You might try calling the information number on JE's website and ask. They are closed today, but try tomorrow.
"Call Ticketmaster @ 402-422-1212 to order tickets or
402-444-4750 for information."
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I was hoping they would do assigned seating. I hate waiting in line for hours and hours. But, I would do it to see JE, that's for sure.
I looked at the ticketmaster site and found the floor plan. I hope I get on the main floor.
I wonder how many people from this site will be there??? Doesn't look like too many from the replies to this thread.
Again, thanks for the info:D

Gypsy. I'll look for you there! I too don't mind waiting in line for JE. In fact, I have almost as much fun in line as I do in the seminars. I have met the most wonderful and amazing people while waiting and have made some great new friends that I now stay in contact with.
See you in Omaha!:lwink:

Do you think it's possible to get from Chicago to Omaha and back to Chicago all in one day? I really, really want to go to a seminar (never been) and I am thinking of driving, but it's something like 8 hours. I'd have to be pretty dedicated and I'd be driving by myself.
It is worth it, though! I'm still deciding.

Don't drive...it's too long! But you can fly for almost what it would cost to drive, if you include food and gas in the cost of the extra time!
Both Southwest and Midwest Express have GREAT deals from Chicago to Omaha... Many times as low as $35 each way!
Check it out!

I don't think anyone should try to drive both ways in one day with the distance you're talking about. Not one person anyway.
Let us know what you're going to do. I'm driving up from Kansas City area to be there. That is if I get into ticketmaster in time to get my tickets.

Well, I just ordered by tickets online. I tried for 20 minutes to get through to the office, but all I heard was "I'm sorry, all circuits are busy right now, etc...." JE is a very popular man:D !!!
The seating is general admission, so I guess I will be standing in line for some time. With the doors opening at 11:00, when do you think I should get in line????? 2,400 people, let's see, 6:00 AM:lwink: ?
Anyway, let me know who else got tickets for this event. It's going to be fun.

Did you read the FAQ on Seminars yet? It is really helpful. This is my first time at a seminar of JE's and I needed a couple questions answered and there they are.
I am driving up the night before with a friend and staying overnight in a hotel.
Hope to see you there. Let me know what your plans are for travel. If you're not going to get in until later in the morning, you can join me in line. I am going to get in line EARLY.
Anyway, let me know your plans.
Denise
Remember to make your meeting plans privately with emails. I've been to two seminars and met a lot of JEFriends at each. We all got together with our plans through one person contacting the others in private emails with a place to get together and a way to recognize each other.
At one I held a homemade JEFriends sign in my hand while in line and felt like a celebrity as people walked up and introduced themselves. :D

Denise,
Thanks for the heads up on the thread....I do need to read it b/c I have not been to a seminar either. I too am so excited. I don't want to drive....too long. I may take a flight in early in the morning or maybe late Saturday night. So, yeah, I'd love to stand in line with you and would love to meet you!
I'll let you know what my arrangements are, though. I couldn't help it....Nebraska is not that far and I'm so excited :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:

Yeah, I think we better. Are you planning on getting in line early?
I called the Music Hall to ask a few silly questions, like "are there any bathrooms available for people standing in line?" (I drink coffeeeeeeeeeeeeee, a few cups :lwink: ). Anyway, she said they discourage people lining up early, so there are no open bathrooms. I asked if there were any gas stations close by, "no". She didn't have any encouraging replies. I guess we can take turns finding bathrooms. I always try to think of the silly things that can hapen. :D
Anyway, yes, we better figure out something to identify each other. Kristen is coming too, from Chicago.
If you have ideas, let me know. Pam said in the FAQ section on seminars to maybe wear t-shirts of a special kind or armbands. (I couldn't find the armbands on her site though). However, on Nov 2 in Omaha, it's going to be cold. We wouldn't be able to see the t-shirts with jackets on. Maybe balloons, any other suggestion
Give me some ideas.

Hey Denise, I am planning to be there early. Whatever it takes. We will have a great time in line. I think the balloons are a good idea. Very visual. Pink flowers are another good idea. And of course Gails sign would work as well. The download for the armband and t-shirt iron ons is here: http://www.johnedwardfriends.org/images/tshirts/default.shtml
I am open to just about anything. (As long as it doesn't involve the word Spandex. It would not be pretty, trust me.)
E-mail me if you want to set up something definate.

Hi Deanna. Hope to see you there. It's going to be such fun.
And Terry, believe me, spandex on me wouldn't be very pretty either!! I know I'll probably be in line early, like 6 or 7 at least.
Email Pam and tell her you want emails to go through from this site to all the other Omaha attendees. She does not want us discussing too much on the boards. She says we don't know who may be reading, you know. That way we can discuss our specific plans through email. I already emailed her. I've had an email from Kristen, we are going to meet her too.
I am very, very excited :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:

It's sounding like a party!!! I just e-mailed Pam. I am really looking forward to being in line. It is going to be great to have people to help ease some of the nervous tension. Or at least to share it with. I have butterflies in my stomach now, and we still have 18 days. But counting.....1....

I'm new here and can't seem to get Pam's email address to get myself added to the "Omaha Mailing List." Can anyone help me out?
I tried the FAQ page, but don't see the email button mentioned in the Q&A there.
Please, please PLEASE do NOT mention hotel names, etc. We will delete them if we see them, but PLEASE DON"T MAKE US WORK THAT HARD!
This is for your safety! THis is not a private little group, even though it feels that way! :) Anything you post here might as well be posted on the front page of the NEW YORK TIMES! So please....remember that when you post!
My email address is pamb@johnedwardfriends.org. I won't be adding any names from posts on these boards - you must email me. Thanks!

Your encouragement was all I needed, plus my husband's offer to drive with me (he won't attend the seminar...he is such a skeptic at times.) I ordered my ticket by phone. From reading the posts, I guess we contact Pam and she puts together a list and someone will contact us by email as to where to meet etc. I like the pink flower idea and I have a few plastics ones (they won't freeze.) I am really looking forward to learning from all the energy. It is going to be fantastic seminar, plus I get to meet more JE friends.

I noticed on the other threads that folks are having trouble because seminars are selling out. Don't forget OMAHA! It is centrally located and pretty easy to get to for folks in the midwest. Tickets are still on sale...hope it sells out so that they'll be encouraged to book here again someday!

Hello all,
I've been registered at this site for awhile, but haven't been on it too much lately. (just been busy doing life stuff).
I just wanted to simply say HELLO because this website for John is SO COOL and when I log in (ESPECIALLY since I haven't in a long time), it's just like coming home to a family! So thanks for giving me a home away from home!
I went to Las Vegas seminar this past year and I'll be going to the Omaha seminar on Nov 03 :) . I live in Denver and I hope he comes here again before too much longer, but I will always try to go see him if he's anywhere close. (550 miles is close enough for me!) If anything exciting happens, I'll let you know, either way, it will just be good to go, see John, and be around everyone else who is of like mind to see him too!
So my wise friends & "family", thanks for being here!
Always, your friend in spirit -
Welcome back, VisionCat! Enjoy the seminar in November, and let us know how it goes!

Hi, Visioncat! I visited Denver on business once -- what a great place!
Valerie
After Valerie described how great Denver and the area around it was, my husband and I took a trip and toured that part of Colorado. What a gorgeous part of the country! I wouldn't mind living there.

Well Teri, if it's anything like the Vegas seminar....
Definately get out of bed and get there before the sun does, in Vegas, it was first come first serve seating. The Vegas show doors opened at like 6pm and I had been in line since about 10:00 that morning, I was about 25 people back then, but a little more because the people in front of me, had other parties in their group that would join them when the doors opened. There were also some other people that came in from somewhere else and were let in first too. (Maybe some special guests or something)
That was really nothing though because BEHIND me - were atleast 2,000 other people - so I was happy I'd come early. I got to visit with all the folks around me too and share stories about life over here -and there, their losses and really feel a sense of bonding and compassion from the human heart.
In my case, it seemed as though everyone around me had losses that were, well, maybe more important. I mean, people's hearts were still in pain from their losses as they were much more recent than mine. I felt bad for their pain and hoped for them to be read for consolation in there hearts needed it more than mine.
Since my mom died right after my 5th b-day, (I'm 36 now), I've been living -yes living- with her loss for a long time, my dad is gone now too, about 7 years ago. But with me, I think I've always already known and BELIEVED in what JE says, that they are with me and have always been. Remember, that's one thing I love him so much for is he always says something like 'You don't need a medium like myself to be in contact with those you love'. John has simply brought my loved ones that have crossed over to a daily active and much more conscious level for me, sort of made it, an 'in my face' 'physical' for me. (After all, I am only a mere mortal-I prefer to touch it to know it's real -not really but ya know I mean).
Expect to pretty much sit on the floor all day. I brought a notebook and a bologna sandwhich/soda in my purse . Also, wear darker close, not brite clothing.
Also, I have a recommendation for you - when ever you do pick a seat - find out how the people setting around you feel, -why are they there? Just come right out and ask them. The reason, I say this is because Darth Vader ended up setting behind me in Vegas. I don't know who he was, I think he wrote a book though and through the whole seminar I could hear him mumbling to his girlfriend negative things, like trying to show her that John is fake or something. He would like say, "see how's he's searching for that answer from that lady" and stupid stuff like that. This guy was a REAL JERK! And I DID NOT appreciate his negative energy around me, but by the time I learned that's what he was doing, it was way too late to find any other seat. So... make sure the folks around you love John Edward and not themselves!
So, other than coming with a great positive mental attitude, that's about it - good luck to you and if you don't get read - just remember to enjoy your slice of the pie!!!!
PS-oh, and don't forget your TICKETS!!

I couldn't agree more - Denver is a nice place, thanks for the compliment and if you're ever around again, let me know, we can get together and have a sciance or something :lwink: HA!, I'm just kidding, I just have a worped sense of humor - see, I don't even know how to spell it! It appears that there are still tickets available for John's seminar in Omaha next Sunday, the 3rd. Just wanted to let everyone who was looking for an opportunity to see John in action know.
Here are some travel times from other cities?
Kansas City 3 1/2 hours
St Louis 8 hours
Des Moines 2 1/2 hours
Denver 10 hours
Minneapolis 6 hours
Chicago 9 hours
There are several airlines that have very inexpensive fairs to Omaha from some of these cities as well.
Hope some of you can make it!

10-28-2002, 02:05 PM
Yeah, what do think is up with that? Still John Edward tickets?
I never heard of that - his tickets have been selling out faster than Madonna. They must not air CO in Omaha!
That's ok, more room for those of us who do show up - maybe there will be seats for our loved ones to sit in now :lwink:
And I'm sure hoping I can make that trip in under 8 hours! Does anyone know the speed limit through Nebraska? (I'm not speeding, I'm qualifying)
Is anyone planning on meeting up in Omaha?

10-28-2002, 02:43 PM
I believe the speed limit in most of Nebraska is either 70 or 75...I should know for sure, but who reads signs? LOL
I think that some folks might try to meet up. Email Pam and have her add you to the list.
See you there!
