Hi Everyone

Tickets went on sale for the extra seminar in Australia in January at 9:00am our time today Friday 1st November. It took ten minutes to get through and I had trouble typing in my details because my hands were shaking so much. After ten minutes they were already down to section 32 (row R) out of 38, which is the third level up from the stage in a huge entertainment centre. Now I'm not sure how many people this centre holds, I asked my husband and he thinks about 30,000 - I have a feeling it may not be that many, but it's a huge number. If they don't have big screens, we'll need binoculars... I kept telling myself if I didn't get through then someone else needed the experience more than us, but I am so relieved because I want my husband to know what I know now... I wonder when I'll stop shaking; I'll be on a high until then I guess

Congratulations, Gwenda! You will love it, no matter where you're sitting! Just to be there in the same venue, with all those people and all that positive energy flowing -- what a feeling!

Congrats Gwenda!!

I too was on the net and also the phone but to no avail. I guess there were people out there who needed it more than I so I'm alright about it.

Have a great time!

Wow, 30000! That's biggish I'd say. It's going to be interesting to see how he works that large of a crowd. I don't think he's done a crowd that size before. Can you imagine the energy?! Whew!
I have to say that I'm impressed with how popular he obviously is down there.
Hopefully hearing and seeing won't be a problem, so that you can get the most out of the experience.

Hi Don

To be honest I wasn't sure how many the centre held; my husband thought 30,000 but I figured about half that. I thought that I should find out for sure so here is the real deal:

The Sydney Entertainment Centre has the flexibility to host national touring events, major corporate conventions and seminars, sporting events as well as home-town entertainment.

Famous for its flexibility, the venue can provide seating capacities for an intimate setting of 500 people up to a maximum of almost 12,500.

At 11:00am when I came back online to see how it was going, the whole 12,500 was sold out. The two lower levels were reserved and they would take up about a third of that total.

I am aware that we will be wherever we need to be and no matter what happens it will be wonderful

Thank you for your best wishes
Gwenda

Hi Zorro

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get in... I have been so euphoric since, that I didn't think about all those people who would miss out. My husband of 34 years is very skeptical and more than a little threatened by the changes he's seeing in me; so maybe that's why we are two of the lucky ones. I wish everyone who wants to be there, could be...
Get in touch with me anyway

Wow, oh wow,
Congratulations Gwenda. 12,500 seats in less than 2 hours. It is mind boggling, although I understand the motivation. I think you are going to be part of a phenomenal experience.

Thanks Gwenda, I think you may be right.

Although I'm a little dissapointed I truly believe if I was supposed to be there I would. Both my husband and I wanted to attend but... not to be.

I am very happy for you and please let me know how it went.
I hope your husband will understand your interest more after you go!

No Pam, more like 8000...

There were only 4 shows originally scheduled for Australia - which sold out in 20 minutes, Due to enormous demand, they scheduled another one in the entertainment centre in Sydney, which holds 12,500. They have been advertising it every day since August and it went on sale this morning and yes, sold out in 15 minutes. We may never get another chance to see John so you can see why!!!

Hi guys...

Actually it was 11 000 seats. The centre holds 12 500 but they are not selling the seats to the extreme back sides of the stage. No point - you couldn't really see from there anyway. (got this info from the Ent Centre - rang this morning).

And yes, all 11 000 sold out in around 15 - 20 mins. Tickets went on sale at 8:55 online and were gone by 9:15. I got in within seconds of them coming up for sale and still I am two sections back on the ground. They went like hot cakes! The Ticketek web site was unavailable for over an hour afterwards too - must have crashed something heheh :)

And - this is the WORST part - scalpers are ALREADY selling on Ebay! *grumbles* I hate scalpers...

One good thing though is that even if this show is larger than the other shows, at least it has reserved seating. I think it is going to be a nightmare seating people at the other five shows where it's General Admission. I'd hate to be the one organising that!!

Congratulations to all who got tickets!!!

Love

One little tip that we've learned...is that sometimes they take credit card orders without actually verifying the credit card.

Sometimes, within the next few days, they have tickets open up because the credit cards were denied because of stolen/over limit - whatever....

You might want to try again over the next few days.

11, 000? Schylaar do you know if they're using cameras and screens, not only on JE, but on the people who are being read?

Hiya Pam! *waves*

From what I have been told:

a) there WILL be screens and John's crew are coming with him to tape shows.

b) in that case I would assume that if they are taping for Crossing Over they would have to also show the person being read. But whether they project that part as well I'm really not sure. That would involve a control booth to switch shots etc - which is possible. They had that sort of thing at several big rock concerts here recently.

It is an awful lot of people but imagine the energy!

One thing I've wondered though - will JE stick to reading people on the ground level (floor) or go up into the seats at the side?

You see the reason I wonder is..... the side parts are usually sectioned off from the floor by security so people don't switch seats at these big entertainment centres - because they are usually used for LARGE concerts. It's very different from the convention centres which hold only 3000...

If anyone is interested in seeing the seating arrangement or a virtual tour of the venue --- I know I can't post a URL here --- but just go to Google or something and type in Sydney Entertainment Centre. Their official web site has venues under "Coming Events" - just scroll down to see JE's pic then click on the venue info at the side. It shows how big the place is and where the seats are :)

Oh.......... and appreciation pins are coming with John too. Good on him! :)

Hope this helps!

One thing I've wondered though - will JE stick to reading people on the ground level (floor) or go up into the seats at the side? The process dicates that it is not up to John, or up to security. John will go where he needs to go - to where spirit needs him to be. No security guard or barrier will stop him. I've seen him jump up onto tables with pitchers of water anc glasses so that he can see someone in the back of the room.

Hi All... am only new here, but have been ready posts for sometime... I too missed out on tickets today '1st Nov' am disappointed of course... sniff sniff

I went to the Sydney Entertainment Centre web site at www.sydentcent.com.au --- and they have a map of seating for the JE show on the 27th. Even Ticketek doesn't have this. So if you have tickets and would like to know where you're sitting, this is APPARENTLY the setup. capacities for an intimate setting of 500 people up to a maximum of almost 12,500. attached is map of seating...
