I'm not crazy about this article. I detest the places they make light of my beliefs.

Maybe I'm too sensitive.

I agree with you, so maybe I am too sensitive too! I thought it was kind of negative and that the writer thought it was all a joke and those that believed in JE were, ummm, fools.:jester:

It also seemed, to me, that the writer found JE to be a controlling and almost manipulative kind of guy. Like he was only out to "put one over" us. Now, granted, a few comments like "modest home" were in there to let you know that JE isn't living high on the hog, but overall I got a negative sense from the whole article.

Oh well, gotta believe what I believe and so does that writer!

I wouldn't expect much better from any mainstream journalist. They've got their agenda too. Proving that they are "balanced", "serious", "hard-hitting"...well, you've all heard the commercials. Hey, they've got to face their co-workers in the lunch room, too.

Remember, in every article so far, they have all owned that J.E. comes up with info so specific that they could not explain it. Their quotes from Adjective Randi, CSCIOP, etc. are just their attempt to present the other side of the issue.

NONE of these journalists have come forward with any witness saying "Yes, this guy's a fake, and here's the proof." And don't think it's for lack of trying.

As I've said before, when Crossing Over hits the network, the articles should get really interesting.

You ain't kiddin sistah! I guess is really important is that mainstream journalists are giving a voice to JE and his message, whether they believe him or not. Not everyone can be crusaders like us, huh?! LOL

**waving to you from the north**

Did you hear about that Medina County Fair accident? Wow, last year ecoli this year a steam engine . . . remind me to NOT go to the Medina County Fair!

Hmmm, I guess any publicity is "good" publicity, eh? LOL! I suppose people will read the articles and tune in, or read them and tune out. It will be interesting to see what the local media critics have to say about him once he hits syndication. It's looking more and more like Columbus will not have a chance to see him on the local affiliates. Haven't seen any ads for it, anyway.

Yes, I heard about the fair accident after I got back from camping. Guess you could call it "A blast from the past"? (Sorry, sick humor.)

"A blast from the past"? Oohhh! That was bad! Funny but Bad! :D

Yeah I haven't seen any commercials up here in good ole Cleveland either. Guess I will have to keep tuning in to Sci Fi. Now where did I put that cable bill? **looking under mess on desk**

Thx! Took FOREVER to get that signature up and running, but I love it too!

he's a former college bball player with a book to push (check out Amazon.com- I'm sure his pick-up bball book is there). Guys, he's only written on sports before- and not often; gotta give him some slack for expanding beyond his experience. I guess.

I'm not going to quote the four blantant (and several indirect, BTW) slants at cold-reading and grouping with psychic-types of lesser quality- they don't merit repeating- but I was downright insulted for Mr. Edward when I read:

'[...] from meeting him, it is clear that he has an innate flair for
self-promotion -- a conversation with him often feels like being on the receiving end of a sales pitch -- and showmanship. '

Okay, now I admit, I have spent a total of perhaps 20 minutes in the man's presence- less than Mr. Ballard, I'm sure. Mr. Edward knew I was skeptical and yet prime to "pitch" his beliefs- let alone promoting himself- at me. It's just not in the man's character to do so. He'd rather give you a personal life-story than guru showmanship.... but I'm preaching to the choir here. Going back to my former stance (just get riled up when I see blatant sensationalism... sorry.)

Hmm- but everyone appreciate that Mr. Ballard did spend a lot of time writing and rsearching this article, and we are happy for the awareness of Mr. Edward's work that the Times does give credit to. (See Pam- I know how to CAV people... even when they anger me. I'm progressing!) Laura J.

Is it possible to read the "Details" piece online anywhere?:daisy:

Sadly, no. They don't publish any of their content online.

Their site, www.details.com is just used for generating subscriptions.
