Psychic show's past makes its future easy to see

My opinion: This is a very nice article about JE's CO. However, they insisted, of course, on including statements from Joe Nickell from CSICP. I found it interesting that he is quoted as saying:
"The problem," Nickell says, "is that they're [those read by JE] not being made aware of the deception, and it becomes a kind of crutch. It keeps people from actually reaching the closure they need to get on with their lives."
I wonder if Mr. Nickell ever actually ASKED any of the people who have had readings by JE whether it helped them to reach closure? Obviously not. (IMHO)
That article won't be winning any awards from this forum for "Fair and Balanced :) We all know what an "expert" Nickell is. Has the Inquirer's sales dipped so sharply they have to resort to that type of bubblegum reporting?
**I wonder if Mr. Nickell ever actually ASKED any of the people who have had readings by JE whether it helped them to reach closure? Obviously not. **
Okay, this is where I have a problem. How can these people continue to write articles for newspapers and magazines, quoting Joe Nickell (and others like him), without ever interviewing people who have ever been read by John Edward? If they are so skeptical of John's studio audience being planted with actors, microphones, and deceptive staff members, why not seek out the people who have had readings at convention centers all over the country? Are all these venues collaborating with JE and his staff to try to deceive the American public? Why not interview someone who walked up to a sold-out seminar, purchased (cash, of course) tickets from someone selling their extras outside, sat wherever they chose, then unexpectedly got a reading?
Hmm... I wonder why??? :hmm:
Because it doesn't sell newspapers! Which is ironic to me, because you would think that a testimonial about proof-positive validations of the survival of consciousness from a detailed reading, would sell more newspapers than quoting a sour and dour yenta like that cynic.
The hint of scandal is more interesting than clues to our surivaval? That's that old "let's spoon feed the morons what they want to hear" attitude of the mind-in-the-gutter media.
Do I sound bitter? Awwwwwwww! ;)
And it doesn't get you strange looks from your writer-colleagues, or snickers from your other co-workers at the water cooler, to write the article the way she did. Ylan, was brave to write a fair and balanced story about people like us. I still wonder sometimes if she ever took any heat for writing the article that she did. Ylan rocks :)
Please forgive my ignorance, but what article is it that you're referring to:
"Ylan, was brave to write a fair and balanced story about people like us."
