Cheers to all,
As I was reading my local paper today, I saw an ad for Spokane's annual "Body Mind & Spirit Expo" on April 26th & 27th.
John Holland is a featured speaker & will be giving workshops regarding after death communication on both days.
Saturday is a free lecture and Sundays lecture is $25.00. :D
Here's a link to their website for more info:
Conscious Living/Body, Mind, & Spirit Expo (http://www.consciousliving.net/bmsehome.htm)
I'm planning on attending -- has anyone attended any of Mr. Holland's workshops?
I also went to Mr. Holland's website - it says his new book "Born Knowing" will be out shortly....I might be mistaken, but didn't I hear somewhere that John Edward had a new book coming out by the same name??

John Holland's book is out NOW. It is called "Born Knowing" and I just picked it up at Borders just last week. I have already finished reading it and it is quite interesting. Although it was a little harder for me to "hear" the personality in the writing because I've never seen JH in action, I found his life experiences very interesting.
One point of interest is that there is a chapter detailing a reading of a person that actually was also read later on Crossing Over. Her name is Victoria and she is Quimby's mother (the girl who was killed in the water slide accident). It is a very nice chapter and a pretty amazing story.
As for John Edward's new book, it is tentatively titled "After Life". He announced that on Larry King Friday night. I expect it will be out this fall...isn't that what you had heard Pam?
I'll have John Holland's and Robert Browne's new books within a few days, in the SpiritDiscovery.com shop :)

That's interesting, she was at the seminar in Las Vegas. I almost said hello to her, and I thought about giving her one of the beautiful cards Gail made for the site, but I wussed.
If I'd had the money I would have bought all their books. Spokane is a bit too far for me but I'll be on the look out for John Holland in San Francisco.

I wasn't aware that John Holland was appearing with JE in Vegas. I just happened to pick up his book last week. I finished it in two days. I enjoyed it, but it is not quite up to the level of "One Last Time" in terms of quality of writing. However, it is definitely patterned after JE's book in terms of content and style.
The stories are interesting. I can't get enough of reading about how someone moves from having unusual experiences to getting to the point of becoming a working medium. It really gives me a boost they tell about some odd experience that I have experienced too.
It did feel weird to be reading the Quimby story and realize I had heard it all before from JE. Do I remember correctly? Didn't JE mention on the show that there had been a previous reading by another medium?
My local friend Kim, (I think she's a member of the site, but never got into the whole discussion board thing) had a reading scheduled with John Holland about a year ago, for 2/28. She was very disappointed when Greta from John's office called to reschedule it for 3/15, saying that John had to leave early for LV because of impending snow. Needless to say she was very disappointed!
For those of you attending Chicago with us, she was there with me last June, and she'll be coming to Chicago again with us on 3/16. I hope I can get her to post her experience here, or at least let me post it for her. I can't wait to hear about her reading with John H. She was anxious to hear from me, what all of your impressions were of him.

I went to Borders a couple of weeks ago and picked up John Hollands book. I really wasn't paying attention and was just picking up different books and opening them to read in the middle (it's a habit I have to see if I will like them or not). Anyway the first thing I saw when I opened Born Knowing was my first name. I figured I was supposed to buy it since my name was staring me in the face, so I did. I thought it was a very good book. :)

As JE says....you "let the book pick you"! That's what I do too!

Yes, well, I followed JE's advice to let the book pick me. Unfortunately all the books picked me! I'm very popular among the books on the shelf at the metaphysical section! If I ever get to speak to John I'm going to tell him his advice is costing me a fortune!

Ohhhh I thought I was the only one that the books lusted after...I'm so glad to know that I'm not alone, so that the poor books shouldn't go unrequited ;)
So many books, so little time tsk, tsk

Iwas wondering, is there a forum for book reviews here somewhere (or Spirit Discovery)? It would be fun to compare. :)
Absolutley!
On the JEFRIENDS site it's located here:

And the companion discussion folder is located here:

Today I went to the bookstore at the mall and had 5 books attack me. They jumped right off the shelf and dragged me to the check out and made me buy them.:lwink:
One was born Knowing and another is The Afterlife Experiments. I can't wait to get started. I don't know which to read first.:D

:( I have been too poor to buy any books. I have been avoiding the book store for weeks. Except the half price book store. And then I only bought stuff to send to the troups. I think I need to get my taxes done and have a little shopping spree lol.

Hi Paula -
Where I live, all of JE's books and audiotapes are at my local library, which is awesome. Check online to see if your library has a retrieval service - usually if there is a book or even movie you want - if your library doesn;t have it in stock then they search their database and have it delivered to them for you - you can order it and it gets put on hold. Good luck & borrow whatever you can.

Absolutley Paula! I believe local libraries are under-used great resources! My library also carries the JE books, as well as most other famous psychics and "new age" spiritual authors. (Most have waiting lists.) Check your library Paula, call or see if they have a website that you can search online

This would be a good spot to remind everyone to donate your metaphysical books that are in good condition to your local library when you are done with them. Those who can't afford them will appreciate it!:D

I took a workshop with Mr. Holland last September and he spoke about the book. I have been waiting to read it since then. I'm going to get the book this weekend. I'm so looking forward to learning more about him. Sheila
I just received an email from Judy Guggenheim and John Holland will be on a live chat this Sunday on her ADC website. It starts at 9pm EST.

I had a reading with John Holland over a year ago with my husband. JH allowed us to tape the reading which I later wrote out on paper. I still refer back to it. There were many messages that John gave to us that were surprisingly accurate yet there were several we could not validate only to have them happen or become clear to us at a later date. For example: John was listening to my mother (passed in 1999) and asked if I had twins. I responded yes. He then said, but Mom too had twins, correct? I said yes, I have twin sisters. He then said with confidence... there is going to be another set of twins. Mom is saying, "three sets of twins." My husband and I laughed. We couldn't imagine any of my 7 sisters having twins. Six months later, my niece announced she was pregnant with twins. Healthy beautiful girls. Yes... we now have 3 sets of twin girls in our family. John talked about the book he was writing (Born Knowing) and I'm happy to hear its published. After the snow clears, I'm running out to buy it. (Johns assistants name is Gretchen. She is very sweet.)
Thank you JE Friends.

Hazeleyz,
How long did you have to wait to get a reading with JH and where did he conduct it? I just wanted to know because I recently asked to be put on his waiting list.
By the way, "Born Knowing" was a great book! I couldn't put it down once I started reading it and I ended up finishing it in one day.

Hi Heather, I wasn't on the list very long. I emailed JH thru his website for a reading in late fall of 2001. I was called within a few months. I sat with JH in March of 2002. My husband and I drove up in a blizzard. The reading was held in a victorian home in New Hampshire. JH seemed a bit shy at first but once the family starts rolling in he can't help but become very social. (LOL) Good Luck with your reading. It's truly an exciting and memorable experience.

I spoke to JH's assistant recently and she advised me that his list is now close to 2 years. He's really gained a following in the last year. Good luck to those who are trying to get on the list!

Thanks for the info, hazeleyz and doodledink. When I saw JH in Vegas I found his reading style was similar to JE's and he also has a nice personality. I can see why so many people go to him for a reading. :)
