Can anyone tell me the area code that appears on the caller ID box when they got the phone call from the Gallery for tickets to John's show? I've gotten thru twice on the Saturday call in, and on my ID box I have an area code from Manhattan that has called two times in the past week. If someone can remember the area code, I'd appreciate an answer.
Thanks:shrug:

From what I read on this board before, it's 718 area code, if I'm not mistaken.

The call came on my phone as New York, NY area code 212
They called me three times. If you are meant to be there, you will be!
Dont lose faith in the process

They called me in late afternoon, and I have seen others on this site say theydon't leave a message. I was lucky and got my call first time though. Good luck!!
Just want to say "hello Katee". I see we are close neighbors. :)

Hi there, PhilsGail, small world. Glad to know you. I'm still waiting. I can't believe I've gotten thru twice on the first Saturday, hopefully that helps with my odds.

Did you get your call yet??? I hope you get it soon!
I have thought to try and call the first Saturday of the month myself, but I really couldn't afford the airline tickets to go to NY right now, and I could never deny someone else who badly wants to go those tickets.
I hope you get the call! :jumper:

Thanks everyone for your well wishes, but it's the 28th and I'm told that if you don't get a call after 1 month, try, try again. I guess it's not meant to be this time around. But maybe one day, I'll keep praying and give my other side family and friends a 'swift kick in the pants' as my Dad used to say! But I'll keep trying, thanks again.

I'm sure the other side wants us there whether we get the call or not. But the timing is up to them. I didn't get a call, either. Maybe we'll have a reason to celebrate next month. :)

Kate, I was at the Gallery last week the 3rd of April, Kristenr and Angelsmailroom, were with me and my mother. There are a couple threads on this. If you do a search with my user name you should find it near the top :) Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

It was about nine weeks before I got "the call" so hang in there, you still may get it! It came up as a 718 area code and "Lifetime" was on the caller ID.
I started not to pick it up thinking it was a telemarketer. Something told me to pick up, I did, I went into shock:lwink:
Good luck--hope you get the call real soon:)

Hi, KKKKKatee!
I'm in Maryland, too! Congratulations on getting through a few months in a row!
Unfortunately, I have NEVER been able to get through long enough to leave my name & contact information. The closest was once I got "the big voice guy" a few times, but it cut-off part way through! I guess it was the other side's way of saying "no tickets for you!" :)
Oh, well, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be!

Kind of like the Soup Nazi, eh? :chef:  Well, never say never... keep on dialing!! It's bound to happen sooner or later.

I don't know for sure, but maybe after they receive a set number of calls, that it cuts off. Maybe someone who knows will let us know. Anyone out there?!?!?!

Hi Neighbor,
I keep checking the site to see when John will be in DC. Maybe I'll see you there. We're you able to go to the Baltimore Convention Center when John was there? I did and it was great, except, of course, the 20 minutes wasted on the usher who didn't have a clue.
The machine that answers for the tickets should give more time to leave a work and home number. Maybe someone will see this and make that change. Good luck on getting thru next time. The re-dial button is the greatest invention ever!!!!!!

When was John at the Baltimore Convention Center? How could I have missed that???? :P
I did see John in Atlantic City in 2001, though! And, I remember hearing him on a DC radio station back in the early 1990s.
Hopefully, he'll be at a venue near here SOON. :)

Mary Beth,
I believe it was summer 2000 or 01 I can't remember. We camped out to get up front cause it was General Admission. I know the show hadn't been on very long and he still sold out pretty quick. It looks like DC this year, oh well, it's not so far, just 40 miles away!
You would not believe the number of people I know who want me to inform them when DC is announced.:) Many want me to go ahead and purchase their tickets for them.:goofy: Instead I'll get them for my immediate family, 5 of us (Mary Beth is one of them ) and tell the others to call for tickets themselves, saves me from credit card shock. :D

It's Saturday night and only because I had to download AOL 8, it's taken this long to tell everyone that I got thru again. At 1:58 pm, I was getting ready and dialed the number so I could just press re-dial. But much to my surprise, the booming voice came on. MY FIRST TRY!!!!! :jumper: Do you believe it??? But it gets better. Because it was before 2, I worried that I wouldn't 'qualify' so I thought I'd better keep trying. So after 6 more re-dials, I got thru again:jumper: I was shocked. And I gave my work number so I wouldn't miss the call. There was enough time for me to say "between 8 & 4PM."
I'm so lucky to get thru, I'm just not lucky to get the "call". When I called the office to re-order my Bridges newsletter, the kind woman told me that she never hears of someone who got thru 4 months in a row, so tell me, that has to mean something. I've talked to everyone who has passed, and I have a wonderful friend who passed just about a year ago, and I know if anyone can get John's attention, it's her. In fact, the day she passed, she stopped by and watched John with me and told me that it was 'spooky' . I'm sure she feels different now. It hurts to lose someone so special, but now I just smile thru tears when I think of her.
Is it my time, or her time, to reach out and CAV?? I hope so. I think now that I don't "need" her to come thru, like I did when she first passed, but I would welcome her message.
She's here now, I feel her. So like John says, we don't need him, but his talent in prosessing the message is what I appreciate most. Thanks for listening, I just had to vent.

I would like to say that my daughter was the one that wrote the number down and I happened to call one day when my sister was having a hard time. Happened to be the first Sat. on the time that was stated. I said, if I had that number I would call. Well my daughter said she wrote it down, (because she watched it since the passing of her Pop-Pop) and as a joke I called. It was busy and I said, "I'm not going to waste my day calling a number" and my daughter decided to keep calling. She did get through, but I had to give my information because she was under age. At the end it stated that just because we got through, it didn't mean we would actually get a call. 8 months went by and I had forgotten about even calling, and poof. I'm at the gallery. I would like to say the area code is 718. I would also like to say that I almost hung up on the caller because they sounded like a phone solicitor trying to pronounce my last name. :D So I asked, "who is calling" and that was when I found out it was Crossing Over.
Having said all this, what I really want to convey to you is, It will happen. Have patience, I believe the other side is waiting for the perfect time for you to get your call. I really believe they set it all up!! Relax and enjoy life, and let me know when you get your call!!

Silly,
So you called once 8 months ago and they called you just recently? Wow am I confused! (It doesn't take much lol) I thought once a month was over, your chance was over... how does this work? Anybody?
Tina, I do recall quite a few members getting their callbacks months later, not within that first month. There doesn't appear to be any set time frame to receive that call, which makes it a little more difficult to keep watch!

When I hear of weeks or months later, there is still a chance, I'm confused. After talking to John's office, even they say that after 30 days goes by, that we should try, try, try again. If anyone can contradict this theroy, please enlighten us.

It's messages such as yours that help me keep the faith. Thanks for sharing your story. How was your Gallery experience? I'd love to hear about it. If you want to email me, just check my profile for my address. Again, congratulations and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.:lwink:

OK, I'll try to be clearer. But remember, I am Silly!:goofy: Let's say I called in in October. I never tried again. I forgot about it, and went on doing what I do everyday. (as I said, I did it as a joke! Can you believe that?!?!) June comes along and I get a call. We're having a taping next week would you like to join us? Well, OF COURSE I WILL!! But my sister couldn't make it under such circumstances. Too little time to make plans to get to NY. Turns out they canceled and made it the following week. All Good!
When I got the machine, it said that because I got through on the line, it was still just pot luck...they randomly picked the people from the call in. I could have called in every month if I had really wanted to go. But I made the one call, and that was it. Forgot about it. So, that is my story. The best experience of my life! I will treasure that day for always!!!!! I sincerly hope you all get to experience the love that I had felt that day at the gallery! Never give up hope!If you get your name on the list three months in a row, It is my guess that you have your name three places to be picked.
Hope I made myself clear. I believe you all have a better chance, and they can call you anytime...as long as you have your name on that list at least one time!

PS- I actually had a reading and my husband and his sister got their reading 2 1/2 hours later. We had two readings. Unbelievable!

KKKKatee,
It was first aired in Aug. 2002? I'm not exactally sure. I got to see it on tape in Sept. It has been played on the repeats. We had the privilege of having them come and do a follow up that will be aired soon....in May. They said it came out very nice. The next day my husband will appear on his follow up. I will have to tape it, because I never get to watch CO, due to picking up my children at both times it is aired. I wonder if I will watch the tape, being a very shy person....I did ask them to focus on my MOM!
Here's wishing you all Luck in getting to visit the Gallery!

Teenasee,
Thanks for the welcome. Have you gotten your call yet??? Now would be a good time for me, I'd like to have a miracle in my life just about now. You know, the perils of raising a teenage boy.
But that could be a whole new thread. But in any case, I could use the wisdom of my elders right about now. Who would guess that they were right? Not me!!! Wish me luck on both fronts. I could use it.

I got called twice 3 months ago but I wasn't there to receive the call. :( I'm curious as to who makes the calls too. Is there some kind of automatic dialer that puts you on hold or is it a real live person?
Good luck to you and everyone who got through! :jumper:

From what I've read, it's a real person, but their computer picks the names for them to call, so it's totally random with no human interference, but maybe past human help. Maybe someone who actually got a call can clue us in??? Appreciate any responses?!?!?!
