View Full Version : Post-Chicago Seminar (Merged Threads)
We've just returned from the Chicago seminar, and all went well (of course). It was a hard day for John, as people were slow to catch the validations. We'll tell you about them in some subsequent posts.
I do want to say that we met all the members from the board that were able to come and let me tell you, they're even more wonderful in person than they are in print :lwink: It's wonderful to have met you all - you made our day. Meeting you is one of the things we enjoy most about these seminars. A special thank you to Tara for all the hand-made gifts she and her Mom passed out to the board members she met.

What a great time!!! I did not get read but it was still great. I got to meet so many people from the board and it is wonderful to be able to put names to faces. John was his usual totally accurate self. He has a wonderful sense of humor as well. There was one that he had a difficult time getting someone to validate. He had the names and other information correct it was just difficult to put to a person. I was going to take good notes to tell you all about it but my paper was blank. I was just taken in by all that was going on hopefully the others have much more to say. I do think he is going to be on the pet psychic Monday. He had some very interesting validations to say about his meeting with Sonja. I do not want to spoil anything so I will not talk about what he said. He has such a great presence and when he came out it was like you could feel the energy coming with him.
I will close for now because I have so much to do before I go to bed.
Take care all

:jumper: It was a great pleasure to meet you and everyone else. Tara is definately a very sweet person. While I wish I would have been read I still think the seminar was great. I do hope that woman who gave John such a difficult time made it out ok lol. She did take up a lot of time. We sure do need to get together as a big group and have John as our guest speaker! He is so much better in person, although it was just like on TV in a weird sort of way.

Hi all, we made it home safe and sound too. Thanks to all of you who i got to meet and talk to. Everyone is so nice and i feel like we are part of a family. Tara thank you so much for the homemade gift. You gave me a big validation from my dad and i thank you for it. It would be so cool if a seminar could be done with JE as the guest speaker for JE friends. Maybe the spirits will arrange it!!!! Looking forward to everyones posts. Had a great time!!! Now i get to go to work and am going to try really hard not to come off my positive energy that i got yesterday.

It was great meeting so many of you at the seminar yesterday! I think the highlight of the day was the woman who got the reading from her 3 year old son. Having been read myself by John, I know what an overwhelming, wonderful experience that had to have been for her! I took my mom to the seminar with me who is a tv fan of John's but has never seen him in person. She was scared to death he'd "pick her" ( I told her it didn't work that way! LOL ).
The next seminar I'm going to is Toledo, OH. Anyone else going there? It'd be great to get together for dinner or something after a seminar some time and "talk John" :clink:
Julie
I'll try to give a quick update, but I only have a few minutes before Zach wakes up.
Another wonderful seminar! It is always a pleasure to meet up with Friends from the board, especially Don and Fairiedust, and it's always wonderful to get a chance to chat live with Carol. The Other Side's energy was working in full force, and a little bit over time for this seminar. The energies that came through yesterday were just awesome.
As most of you know, forgiveness (Angelina) has been my house guest. We got up before the sun so that we could get there early enough to spend some time with Namaste and her group. But the weather had other ideas, because almost our entire 2.5 hour trip up was in pea-soup fog. Kudo's to Angelina for getting us there safely. I goofed as the navigator, and sent us 15 minutes north out of our way, making us another 1/2 hour late. But the timing turned out to be perfect, because as we approached the long, long line, we intersected with Don, Fairie, and moonshadow. We didn't have to search the huge crowd for them!
Carol was there, her usual cheerful and huggie self, amidst a sea of confusion and people. We eventually caught up with Paige and her SO Tory, my friend Kim from here in town, and one by one, others from the board came up and introduced themselves.
I have to apologize, because I was in a total daze yesterday. As much as I love the energy at seminars, I don't do well in large crowds. I usually "protect" myself before seminars and other large events, but I didn't have a chance yesterday. I ended up bouncing all over the place yesterday, hardly staying in one place more than a minute before the seminar started.
This seminar was setup with large screens on each side of the stage. There cameras on platforms in several places around the rooms. I asked Carol if today's seminar would be taped for TV. She said "Oh no, these are for your viewing pleasure!" and chuckled. They really did bring so much more to the seminar. We were able to see the person being read, and see the expressions on their face. I intend to write Carol and tell her how much having those screens, intensified the experience.
The first reading was interesting and funny, because an older woman's mother came through, and ended up being referred to as "Mrs. Kravitz" by John, because she brought through several energies for several families in her section. He teased the lady that her mom would be the type who would peek through the curtains and say "*gasp* did you know that there's someone who committed suicide 4 rows back???" and sure enough, he said that's where he was going next - 4 rows back, to someone who claimed that information, and he continued with that reading. "Mrs Kravitz" led the way for several more readings in that section.
The second reading was the one that sent me over the edge, and sent me reaching for my tissues. John had taken a question earlier about children's energies that come through. He remarked that children rarely present themselves first, because they don't have the life experience to provide validation information. As you know, in the process, the validations must come first, so that there is no doubt who is communicating. He reminded us that usually the older family comes through first, to validate, and then they will refer to the child being with them. This is to let us know that the child is not alone on the Other Side, but is surrounded by the circle of family.
Not today. John brought through a 3 year old child, who presented several validating points of information for a mom who was visibly moved. John said that he apologized, but this child refused to say how he passed. He gave some more validations, but again, John said he kept asking the child how he passed, and offered the child a list of 6-7 ways that he could have passed, but the child would not give the information. The mom asked 'should I tell you how he passed?" and John said "no". John asked who is "Joseph" and the mother gasped - that was the child's name. )Other things were said here, and I would appreciate anyone else filling in the blanks of this particular reading for me.) John said that the child wanted to express that the mother and the entire family did something to memorialize the child on an ongoing basis, that they were involved in something that kept the child's memory alive, so that the other children would always know a lot about this child, and not just say "oh yeah, I had a brother that died". I swear, I thought the mother's knees would fall out from under her.
She told us that Joey died of Leukemia, and that they had set up a special fund-raising organization called "Joey's Angels" and they did things like golf outings, but had to date raised more than $750,000. The room gave her a resounding round of applause. Now I know why Joey would not say how he died. He wanted his mother to be the one to share it with us. That was probably his way of thanking her, allowing her to have the spotlight  Go Joey
There was another reading that started out as one of those frustrating, "will the real sitter please stand up and claim this information" kind of reading. From my perspective as an outsider, it was taking forever for the reading to continue. There was very unique, specific information waiting to be validated, that several people tried to validate, and came very, very close - but John kept pausing to consider and then saying 'mmmmm....no". The people offering to claim the information were so close to what he was looking for. So close that I whispered to Angelina "do you think that John could be wrong, and that he's not accepting someone's validation"? She reminded me that he's a bulldog and sticks with what he's getting, and that he knows when he's right.
The information was, two people on the same level (side by side) that passed within 2 days of each other, but had two different wakes at the same time. No one claimed it. He knew what area he was in, and said he saw a big arrow pointing down, and followed the outline with his fingers, drawing a big arrow in the air. After about 10 minutes, he said "that's it, I'm going in" and ran down the steps of the stage, into the audience. More people tried to claim the information, and then more information started coming through. There was a strange "GR" name like Grover. There was a Linda, and Ruth connection. There were so many people who had relatives pass within the same time frame, with Linda's and Ruth's in their families. Many people tried to claim the reading, and had 4 varying parts of the reading, but not a fifth, and John would not accept that.
John narrowed it down to a small section of people and kept saying "it's right here, it's right here". Finally, one woman said they didn't think it was them, but they would offer the information, because it was piecing different families together. (John had warned us in the beginning, that if you sit with someone who you're not related to, it doesn't matter, the Other Side sees you as all connected.) They had the same level relatives who passed and were waked separately but at the same time, she had an uncle Grover who passed, and she came today with Linda and Ruth. Five out of Five. That was it! Once that information was validate, the rest of the reading flew. It was her husband who had passed, coming through.
This was an older woman, maybe in her 50's or possibly even early 60'. John said to her "and he teases you that you're pretty handy with a tool belt". She rolled her eyes and said that after he passed, she needed to keep her mind busy, so she got out his circular saw (and mentioned several other power tools) and made a flower box, and then started going down a list of other items that she made for the house. Now you tell me, how many women in their 50's or 60's will get out their husband's circular saws....how many even know what a circular saw is, much less know how to operate it. John said that during life, she was in his shadow, and this was her husband's way of giving her "the spotlight" today.
I have to stop here - because Angelina just woke up and Zach will follow after her soon.
We were invited to go back and see John briefly during a break - and I will let Angelina tell you about that - because it was all for her :) I've been lucky enough to meet John twice before, and lucky enough to share it with all of you, so I will let Angelina have the honor of sharing that with all of you.
Love you all...have a great day,
Pam :)
Whew....glad you guys like long posts ;)

:jumper: I must say that I agree with you that Joey's mom was the best reading there. I cant really add anything more to you post about it because I didn't write anything down!! I was so captivated by his readings that I couldn't be doing any writing lol.
Although I did not get to talk to you much, (I was with Tara) and Angelina it was still great to meet you both. I can't tell you how much the work you do means to me. My mom was excited to hear about the show, and told me my brother watches it all the time. I can't wait to go to another seminar, and I can't wait to meet more people from the board. Although on a side note I loved the part when he was "going in" and someone said he was short, so he laughing said "who said I was short". I was waiting for the "soup natzi" thing to hear "no reading for you"!! It was great to see that at what must have been very frustrating time for him(cause it sure was for me) that he could lighten it up with a laugh. Well I must take off now. I do not think the boss would like the excuse I was talking to my friends, for being late for work. I cant wait to get home to read all the postings !!!!

Hi Paula, it was really nice meeting you and everyone else! I thought it was a great time. I love listening to John and what he has to say. It seems that John has the patience of a saint! I was afraid that he was going to be held hostage and not be able to go on with that reading, and maybe even get stuck and stop. Thank God for his persistense. I took notes but they are all kind of jumbled because he went so fast. I will try to put it together, if someone else hasn't done so already. Take care, Cary.

I was there. But wasn't able to figure out who everyone here was. My friend I was with told me that while I was in the restroom you all annouced something about a picture togehter...Sorry I missed you all. I did see the cookie monster balloon but was unable to hunt it down at the time.
I can't tell you all what I walked out of there with...It's unexplainable... I wasn't read but was given so much more by experiencing the whole process and John's amazing presence as well as the presence of those crossed over souls. I knew they were there, no doubt about it. What amazed me most was looking at John and seeing him trying to get out the messages.
I think one of my favorite funny parts was John talking about the 'Pet Psychic', and his dogs and their little 'accidents'. OMG !! John has such a sense of humor.
John always says how much energy it takes from him to do what he does. OMG I left there feeling like I had just run a marathon...
Once in a lifetime!

Hi Cardinal, I'm sorry you missed everyone. Yes, they did make an announcement, and we went toward the back of the room and all had our picture together. It was really great seeing everyone and putting names to faces.
Isn't it a wonderful feeling!! Even though you may not get read, the feeling that you leave with is wonderful. To know that some people may have been helped to understand and believe the messages that John conveys, is a feeling that can't really be described. And then, it's even better to be able to come to a place like this and be able to express your feelings of the event.
Take care..., Cary.

This was me after we left the seminar. But by the time we had returned home I was so exhausted. Like all the energy just knocked me for a loop.
I again apologize if I stepped on any toes (about announcing the picture). I just wanted to meet everyone and I knew that we were running out of time. Maybe for everyone that is going to the Toledo and Columbus shows we can do it again. I am so excited to see the pictures of us. I am also VERY EXCITED to hear about the back stage story.
You guys are awesome and I also agree that we have our own family going. It is so nice to show up in a BIG scary city and know that you have people there if you need them.
To Pam, Don, Cary, Paula, Angelina, Julie, Mary Jo, and all the other great people that I had the chance to meet and spend time with... YOU ROCK!!!! I can't wait to do this again.
Bless you all,

I just found this site after going to see JE on Saturday in Chicago. My family did receive a reading...and I was shocked at the things he was able to tell us. At first I had been wondering if there was some trick to it all, but everyone I went with made a pact not to say a word before the show as we waited. JE told us about my mother's mother who passed away so many years ago and the story has only been told once because it is very painful, yet he knew every personal detail of how and why she died. His reading gave my mother peace of mind like no one will ever know. I also wanted to post this because at the end of the reading he said that our family and "Mrs. Kravitz" family should talk because we were somehow connected. I am hoping maybe she will be curious and check this as well just to see if we are connected. I'm truly amazed.
Welcome jamilsmommy! I was there on Saturday and I remember your reading. I also remember your Mom's reaction at that particular part of the reading. Congratulations on hearing from the Other Side!

Just wanted to chime in and say it was great to see my old seminar buddies Pam, Don and Fairiedust and to meet some new faces at the Chicago Seminar last week. It was as usual a spectacular event, with the energy level through the roof, and the big screens were an excellent addition as you could really see the reactions of the folks being read, making it a more intimate and intense experience, despite the size of the crowd. This was my seventh seminar, and by far one of the best because you could really get more involved with the readings, like you can in the gallery, much better with the screens.
Jamilsmom, welcome to the board and congratulations on your reading!
Pam, for someone in a daze, you sure were able to recap the details of the seminar:lwink:
I agree that the most powerful reading was for Joey's mom, and one thing I remember most from that particular reading is John saying how difficult it has become for him to do readings for people who've lost children now that he is a father, and can relate more personally to how devastating it would be to have this kind of loss. His gut-wrenching honesty never fails to amaze me and fearlessness to share himself openly like that as a now very public figure is inspiring.

What a wonderful day. I was very calm while I was in line with Paula, and then when we got inside the door my energy levely flew through the roof. I was so grateful to meet you all and even more grateful to be a validation for Mary Jo, well not me but some roses I gave her;) . You are all wonderful people and I was so happy to share that day with you. I wish I could have stayed after and talked more.
Angelina ~ thank you for the Pamela impersonation, it is going to be great on the video. Very talented lady you are:lwink:
Paula, it was great having you over for dinner, I hope my kids did not drive you to crazy  . My friends and family really enjoyed meeting you. Thanks again for the pen and chocolates.
I would have to agree with the post that said the reading from the 3year old boy moved them the most. There were some really nice readings, but I was in tears watching that mother react to the reading.
I talked to the lady whose mother came through first "Mrs Kravitz", she was leaving the hotel the same time as me, and she told me that John was right on with her mothers personality. I thought it was so funny when john was doing the reading for the four girls (one being pregnant, or finding out she was from john) and John made the comment to the one mother that she should not wear the same dress to the next wedding and Mrs Kravitz commented about the fact that wearing the dress twice would be in bad taste. So funny.
What a wonderful experience, I was so grateful to be there and to meet all of you. There were lots of photos taken, maybe a few will show up here.
Oh Angelina can't wait to hear from you!!!

I'm Joey's mom (the 3 yr. old who came thru to to John on 3-16 in Chicago) I had not even heard of John Edwards until my cousin told me she was going to the seminar with her sister in law who who had gotten tickets and who flew in from San Francisco just to see him. She actually got me the ticket to go on Ebay. I've always known that his spirit lives on. I've gotten so many signs from him over the years, but when John said "Joseph" I almost fell over. Everything John told me made absolute sense, although I didn't realize a few things until after the reading.
The overalls he talked about are a pair of khaki ones that I just held in my hand 2 days before the show. I was getting rid of old clothes, etc. for good will and pulled a bag of clothes out of my son Drew's room (who's almost 4 and so much llike Joey") and in them were the overalls. I pulled them out of the bag and said "I can't get rid of these because they were Joey's" and I put them back in the closet. The other thing that made sense afterward was the Aunt who passed from breast cancer. It was my cousins mother who passed 20 years ago. She had ovarian cancer which spread to hear breast. I never knew it spread to her breast. The other thing that made sense afterward was when he was touching the back of his left ear and said he felt preassure there and what did that mean. I beleive he had said this after he asked who the other "Joe" that is here, which is my cousin's son who wears a hearing aid on his left ear.
We hold a golf fundraiser every year in his honor (Joey's Angels) with about 600 people in attendance each year. Everybody always said they felt an energy there and we always thought it was Joey. Now, I know for sure it is. Now I believe 100% that we do go on to a better place. Bye for now

I am so glad you found this site. I remember the reading well. I was sitting up front and let me tell you that it was one of the more touching moments that I've seen at a seminar. Not only was the strength and beauty of your son's energy very apparent, but it was so touching to see John's reaction. When he told you how hard it is for him now to bring through children because of being a new daddy himself, well...you should have seen the look in his eyes. I think you were a little too far back to see it, but he was obviously touched and affected by the experience.
My heart went out to you and your whole family as I observed you receiving your reading. John always says that those who are supposed to receive the message will. There is a reason why you found John Edward that day. I hope that you will get to know everyone here as there are a lot of really sweet people and some wonderful support.
(((Joey and Mom)))
Patty - thank you SO much for joining us! I know I will NEVER forget your reading, nor will I forget your face, as Joey let you know it was him that was here with us, communicating through John. I know that anyone who attended Chicago on 3/16 will never forget you, or your reading.
What a wonderful gift you got from Joey and from John, but what an even more wonderful gift you have given back to Joey, and to the world, with the creation of Joey's Angels and the effort to raise money for the Leukemia Research Foundation.
I'd like to invite everyone reading this, to go to Patty's website for Joey's Angels, and take a look:

Welcome Joey's mom and thank you for finding us! As I watched you (on the BIG screen) receive your reading I thought "I know EXACTLY how she feels right now and how wonderful she'll feel in the days/weeks/etc. ahead. I had a reading from John at the first seminar I attended (I also got my ticket on Ebay... shhh!). My husband who had passed came thru and said, among other things, that the baby I had miscarried shortly before he died was a son and that they were together. That reading changed my life.
I hope you'll continue to come here and post. It's a great group of people!

JAC2001 ~ First of all welcome to the board, you are not brand new but it is the first time I saw your post:D I do not know if this is my place or not but regarding you getting your ticket on ebay. I do not beleive the people on this board will bug you about getting your ticket on ebay, we just wish that people would not have to pay such crazy prices.
Please know and let other people know about John's site and this site so that they can know when tickets go on sale and not have to pay an accelerated price. Plus I do not know if you saw my thread "thank you kristenr" but in that thread I posted how I met two people that had purchased tickets online, not from telecharge, and they paid a lot of money and showed up at will call and they had no tickets. :( I think this board just does not want that to happen to other people.
I do not think that people on this board want you to feel bad or embarassed about getting your ticket on ebay, they just do not want you to be taken advantage of.

Hi Patty, and WELCOME!
It's life stories like yours that demonstrate how love never dies. How fitting that you should get this reading... you definitely deserved it.
I have to say, when John kept after you for something in September (the 9th month), He usually says it as, "The 9th month, or the 9th of a month." Since February was already validated, when no hit was coming, I couldn't help wondering if Joey's birthday was February 9th. Finally, BINGO! That was so awesome.
Thanks for taking the time to find us and for making such a wonderful contribution.

It was great to read your validations about your reading. I love to hear about the things you found out after the reading. It is nice to see that even though you really knew nothing about John your son managed to get you there so he could come thru. I was touched by your son and his "maturity" since John just talked about young children coming thru with adults. He proved that he was/is extraordinary. Thanks again for sharing. I hope we hear lots more from you

I'd like to thank everybody for their warm welcome to the board. I'd also like to share a story on how I even got to hear about John Edward. About 2 weeks before the show my sister in law called to tell me she and a friend for "kicks" went to see a psychic/meduim. The first thing the lady said to her was "I see two little boys around you" (I know it was Joey and his little brother Benjamin who I lost at birth 11 months after Joey died)
Anyway, my sister in law said she didn't acknowledge them to the lady. The lady then said some other things, then said again "I see two little boys around you and I see the letters J and A "(I took that as "Joey's Angels) She said he is very happy and with another little boy (who I beleive to be Benjamin) and there are angels all around them and they are always with you and your family and watching over all of you.
I then felt I had to share this story with my cousin (the one who was with me at the seminar) because she lost her 5 mos. old and 2 yr. old in a horrible car accident last summer. I thought it would bring her some comfort since whe wasn't sure she beleived our spirits live on after we pass. Then she told me about the John Edward seminar she was going to.
My reading not only helped me and brought me peace, but also made such a difference in my cousins life. I beleive Joey came through for both of us after all the heartache we've been through.
This is a great website - bye for now.

Wow i have goose bumps. Thank you for sharing that story with us. What is meant to be will be but with Johns help we have learned that they are truly still with us and watching out for us. I have to say since i found out about John Edward my life as been so much happier. I have spoken with several people who feel the same way. Thank you Patty. It really makes you think about how one person getting a reading helps so many others who did not. Every validation you gave to John made things much more real for me and many others. I hope this site can help you and your cousin. Thanks again for sharing.

Hi Patty, I also was at the seminar and remember your reading because it feels close to home. And now, hearing about your other son, brings it home even more.
I just lost a new born son in October from prematurity. Alex lived for 6 days. My husband and I have dark hair, and he was born with platinum blond.
I am so happy for you that John was able to talk with you. It also validates for me that my son's soul is still very much alive and well. Thank you for that. Bless you and your family for doing the work that you do and keeping Joey's memory alive. Take care,...Cary.
