View Full Version : Seminar Get-together Suggestion
:bulb:Here's a simple idea for how to get together with those from the board when you're attending a seminar.
Pick a hot-spot in the room, say, the far right corner as looking from the stage. Then, pre-establish regular meeting times, perhaps 20 or 30 minute intervals prior to John's scheduled entrance. At those pre-arranged times, wander to the hot-spot and see who else shows up.
Finally, be sure and establish that the last one be reserved for a group picture.
Not only will you be pretty assured of meeting everyone, but it'll give you something to look forward to while you're waiting for the real action to begin.
We all did just that, Don, in Las Vegas and everyone got to meet just about all of the Friends going. If you don't have a specific place and time to meet, it's so easy to never get to meet the other people there.
It also helps if one or two of you decides to coordinate the meeting. I set up a group email of everyone going so I could send the same information to all of them at the same time. It made it so much fun to see them all.
One thing no one should ever do is post your plans on here for public view. There are people on here that just lurk and although they are wonderful shy people :) we may have some lurkers who would want to harm us.
Love, Gail :)
Just want to mention that it may be a good idea to check on whether you can even have a camera at the seminar -- it could vary by venue.
I know they always ask that you NOT take pictures during the seminar, but at the Houston seminar, the Verizon Theater would not even allow cameras into the building.
They came out and announced to the line of people that if you had a camera, you needed to get out of line and go put it back in your car, because you could not bring it inside. People had to get out of line and have others save their spot as they went back to their cars.
As we entered the building, the hand-held wands were used to scan us, purses and bags were checked, even cell phones were checked, presumably to make certain they were really phones.
I'm not sure if it was just that particular venue, or if there was another reason for security to be so tight, but it would be worth checking into ahead of time -- especially if it's a long walk back to your car! :D
Wow, Jude! I bet everyone breathed a sigh of relief knowing all those cameras were tucked away safely in the parking garage where they couldn't do any damage

About that announcement at the seminar. I hope that I didn't step on any toes trying to make that happen. I know that we had made the arrangement of meeting up front, but because I didn't know any of the people, I didn't want to miss the chance to say hi. I think that it all went great and I can't wait for Pam to post those pics. Admit it everyone, the Chicago seminar rocked...
Bobbie :lwink:
For sure balloons work great. The only short-coming is not everyone is there at the same time.
I don't think anyone's toes were stepped on Bobbie... but I will admit I did feel as though we were being watched
