Hi Sam. :) All I can tell you is just have fun and try not to worry too much. I won't be there, but I did go to Chicago in March. It was a wonderful experience!! Just being there watching him is a great feeling, because you can feel the energy. Relax and enjoy watching and listening to John and his message. I could listen to him talk all day! ;)

God Bless and good luck! Cary

:jumper: :jumper: I was sooooo excited when I went to see John in Chicago. Plus I went the night before and met up with Namaste and her family. It was great. I had everything you could imagine in my purse (just in case, including a box of kleenex). I almost had a stroke when he came out, I just "knew" he could really do what he does. You will love going, I will say you will calm down once he starts talking, he is sooo relaxing. Have fun and I can't wait to hear your post.

With less than 24 hours till the board goes on "break," and 2 more seminars at hand, this looks like a good time to focus on the spiritual message that "the spirit goes on forever, as do the bonds of love."

For those who are attending a seminar for the first time (or not!), this is an opportunity to "witness and appreciate John Edward's masterful use of his God-given gifts of mediumship, healing and teaching."

*************

Below are are the answers to a few of the most frequently asked questions about seminars:

How should I prepare for a seminar?

The best thing you can do is to talk to your Crossed Over loved ones, not only before a seminar, but every day of your life. But before a seminar, make sure you know your family tree or you'll have "psychic amnesia". Know birthdays, anniversaries and dates and causes of passing.

I'm really hoping for a reading. How can I increase my chances, and does it matter where I sit?

There is nothing YOU can do to increase your chances for a reading. It does not matter where you sit. If you're supposed to get a reading, you will. It's not up to you, or to John, it's up to spirit. Even people in the bathroom have been known to have messages come through for them, and have the entire audience's attention upon their return to their seat. This makes a good case for taking care of business before the seminar starts!

What should I bring?

You may want to bring paper and pen so that you can take notes on the lecture portion, or if you or someone with you are lucky enough to get a reading, you can take notes on the reading. As noted below, Kleenex is a good idea too, as some of the readings can be extremely emotionally intense, even if you're just listening.

Remember, no recording devices or cameras of any kind are allowed.

What's the dress code?

Be as casual or as expressive as you wish. Be prepared to sit for 3 hours. Most people do NOT "dress up." What you may have heard about "wearing dark clothing" applies to the taping of the TV show only.

*************

To all those attending seminars in the next few days, savor every minute of your experience, be safe, and come back to share with us when the board re-opens next week!

ENJOY!

Hey Jude: (:wink:sorry, I had to do it)

Thanks for the advice. I totally understand that the purpose is for spiritual advancement -- even not getting read won't matter because I'm sure those that do will be so powerful that It'll be nearly the same thing. Bewitched and I (I'm the bothered and bewildered part) are hooking up and I just can't wait to meet her. I plan on doing a lot of laughing.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I'm so disappointed that the board will be closed and I can't ramble for hours when I get home on Saturday. But I'm going to send e-mails to some and let them know what happened. Sam will probably just get her message across by "SCREAMING IT"!!!!! :lwink:

I'm going to miss everyone 'till we're back up.

Blessings to all,
Jeannie

I am still high from the Toledo and Columbus seminar experiences! I had wonderful seats at both venues....second from the from and front row respectively. The Toledo seminar was the high point for me because I actually was chosen by John to ask a question! *Patting myself on the back* I remained calm and didn't drool down the front of myself or anything when it was my turn and all eyes and cameras were on me. If he had heard the question a million times before, he acted as if it was the first.
John was amazing both nights. Someone from the "John's Friends" site ask him a question about the Jimmy Kimell show. I hope she writes his response because it was very professional and very "John".
Thanks for letting me ramble!

The question I asked John was....Since the belief is if you commit suicide you have to learn your life lessons on the other side, where did he (John) feel capital punishment fit into the picture? The persons actions put them in the position of being executed but they are not personally flipping the switch.
He said "excellent question". He called it suicide, they put themselves into the position and said he personally does not believe in capital punishment and thinks it is letting the criminal off too easy. John said he would like the criminals to think about their actions for the rest of their natural life. He got a huge round of applause for his response.

:jumper: i am going to give this a go..unsure if i can do it. i KNOW i cannot do JE justice.........

on my way to seminar i stop for a coffee and thought, hmmm i am meeting jeannie ( aka pudgebuster, some, purge etc) so i get her some biscotti. no big deal. i get to the hotel and its like 300pm and ther is no line outside, i go in and there are like 100 mostly women.so i take up residnce and prepare to wait. and try to breath normally. i met these 2 lovely women from Jersey, they had been to the gallery about 4 or 5 times and have been read and were actually on CO but didnt get to see it as it was playing that same day 5/16 ( anyone have a tape?) they were great!! had all sorts of storeis about their readings etc. we gave them a JEF card so hopefully they will be posting soon. truly i could have left after meeting them and been happy. pudgy found her way in ( yes she was dressed and by the way , what a gorgeous gal she is) gave her the biscotti and she gives me the weirdest look...( now i amthinking ok, quit looking at me. and thats what i get for meeting weirdo people on line (haha). she says " why did you bring me biscotti?"

i just said i thought she would like it...weirdo:confused:
she goes "my maiden name was biscotti"

sooo that was a good laugh

anyway JE was amazing. the energy in that room was unlike anything ever. a few weird things happened to me ( dizzy, real loud swooshing in my ears) but i dont know what it was. he read quite a few people and had the most right on accuracy for the most part. there were 2 sisiters up in the balcony and he said that "someone was in a wheelchair but really didnt need to be" the screamed!! ( they screamed a lot!!) their sister had used a wheelchair at a local amusment park to get on the rides quicker! they said she wzs sick, but not that sick at the time. i wish they could post, i wanted to shower the place with JEF cards!! pudgy gave out all she had ( cards!)

we sat in the 8 row i think, he is so funny and i dont see how anyone could have any doubt that he is doing anything other than what he says he is. I have been to a lot of fairs, seminars and read a lot over the years and he is the best i have ever seen.
it really made me respect the education, the effort, the discipline it must have taken him to get that good at it. what an incredibly selfless thing to do with your life, work so hard to hone something for the benefit of other people. made me wonder about a lot...
anyway..this isnt very cohesive...i feel blessed to have been in that room. i am so happy for the people that got read, especially the ones with children. on woman was sobbing , i felt so bad for her. her son came through. he had drowned at 2. i wish /hope she could read half of your guys' stories.

he talked about kimmel. someone from the board was there in purple and asked hi about it, mentioned JEF...c'mon give it up...who were you??!! he joked a lot. one of the assistants asked JE if he could find this guys wife. he looked at her like<"am i getting requests now?!" and she says...nooo she is in here somewhere and he cant find her!!LOl then he laughs and gets that very stern look on his face and shkes his head, :"I CAN ONLY DO DEAD PEOPLE" LOL!!!!!!!!!! he kept spilling water down the front of him, he was so endearing.

he told a really funny sotry about sandra......but maybe i am getting t oo long winded?????

Hi  How nice to be back!

Sam did such an outstanding job of telling our seminar story that there's not much I can add. (Thanks for the compliment, too  )

He is an amazing man -- for any one person to captivate that many people, have them wait in line foresaking dinner, libation, whatever, for hours is amazing in itself. But then he comes in and it's electricity!!!! My heart pounded every time he paused -- hoping against hope that he was coming to us. I was hoping, especially, for the one woman Sam told you about from Jersey who had lost her son. But the two sisters in the balcony -- the ones with the wheelchair and the song -- that was truly amazing. There is just no way that he could have know anything beforehand -- just absolutely NO WAY!!!!!

I had a get together with some friends the night after the seminar and told them about it -- well you wouldn't believe the feedback. I rarely talk about it just to avoid such conversations, but this was incredible. I got everything from "it's the Devil's work" to "they were planted." Honestly, if I hadn't known these people all my life and known how intelligent they all are, I'd think they were a bunch of stubborn, ignorant idiots who didn't have a clever thought among them. (And these are my "best" friends  )Anyway, the entire experience was overwhelming -- I'm worried about my darling Sam who had a pretty weird experience. I'm also grateful that the board has reopened. I was ready to burst seams last weekend waiting to tell my story.

I suppose the long and short of it is that the amount of energy that he exerts, the kindness and incredible warmth that he emanates, is something that is truly uniuqe. If you try to imagine just a person off the street, or even someone you know well, holding 3000 people totally captive for two and a half hours, plus waiting time, etc., etc., etc........absolutelyNO WAY can it be anything but authentic. And I'm very thankful that I was a part of it. Thank you Carol, for responding to my plea for tickets.

Lesson plans await --- school's almost over and when it is you guys will be sorry --- my hands have very big mouths!!!!! :lwink: Catch y'all later!!!

Pudge

p.s. Sam -- keep up the good work -- you're the best :musicnote:

oh gee..darn..(gush) i guess you dragged it out of me ( drug i know iknow!!_)

sooo..JE says sandra was getting really irritated with him when her grandmother CO, she told him" how is it YOUR family comes right on through and MINE doesnt" etc he said he was like uhhhhhhh sorry, babe, cant help you on that one

then he tells us ( and I swear i swear he looked right at pudgybuster...which would be any normal mans reaction..sorry guys she is married! ) and says that sandra wanted to buy her grandmother a cross to send to her in portugal so she would know they are thinking about her. and john told her..ahhh she knows she doesnt need the cross....

so she gets one and sends it

he says her grandmother came through to him finally after some time, and she told him that she didnt have the cross..well sandra got all irritated and said /of course she does" and he said " no your mom has it and is playing with it"

sandra calls her mom and she is holding the cross, tells ssandra. " i took it out of her casket as she didnt need this to know you love her. i was saving it for you and johns daughter "

awwwwwwwwwwwwwww... then as if it could get beeter

he says ( cocked eyebrow) ' sandra, what is showing me?? what did you ask her??" he was pissed!! and she said sheepishly" uh i know you are for real but i needed to really know...." i guess she apologized profusely..
amnyway he said " you asked her to show you a sign??!!"
he reached into her pocket and pulledout a bag with a stone and flower in it. she had been carrying it around with her for some time and she said she held them up to heaven and told her grandmother to show her she saw it...
sooooooooooo even mrs edward is human!!! ( lucky girl!!lol)

ummmmmmmmmm

one of the jersey jewels ( the ladies we met) was sooooooooooo funny, needent woory about pudgy getting us kicked out, she was talking to us and this woman in fornt of us , turned around and asked us to be quiet as she couldnt hear ( they were playing segements of CO and everyone was milling around so it wasnt like a quiet time..we were waiting for him to come out. ) well she turns around and says'''shhhhhhhhhhhhsh

my jj ( jersey jewel) says " this is america and we can talk and if you were even half interested you would put that crosswrod away." we were trying soooooooooooooo hard to be good, honest , but it was funny. imagine a darth vader worried about her corssword when we just wanted to connect.....

As long as we are sharing the moment...I loved how John said there was a thin line between teasing and disrespect. John said he felt Jimmy crossed the line a couple times. My favorite part was Johns comments on Rebecca Stamos as a guest on the show. Apparently Jimmy asked her what she thought of John's work and she basically called him a scam. He turned to her and said "Give me thirty minutes when the show is over and I will rock your world!" After the show she was all nice and said something about wanting John to read her. He smailed and told her "Absolutely not!" I LOVE IT! She trashed him in public but then expected him to share his gift with her in private.. John got a huge round of applause for his decision on how to deal with her.
She blew it BIG TIME!

:lurker: Sorry Sam ------

I've been not feeling well and just totally overwhelmed with end of the year teaching stuff. (Also some stuff with my kids) so I haven't been posting much. But I hardly need to -- you have done a much better job than I could and it's so much more entertaining than I could ever be!!!!

I actually didn't know about the Jersey Jewels' admonishment -- I must have been in la la land with my first born or swooning over John!

The wierd thing is I barely remember anything that happened. It's almost like it was a dream. When I read your posts and Kathy's (I wish we would have met her!!!!) it all comes flooding back, but for some odd reason I don't remember anything specific that he said. I guess I was concentrating so hard on wanting him to "rub, bow and point.....coming over here :lwink:" that I missed all the good stuff. Anyway -- I'm sorry if I let you down. Pudge.
Were you in Toledo and Columbus? In Columbus, I had front and center seats on the aisle. When John took the picture from the woman's photo album (the son with the fish tatoo), he was standing next to me while holding it for the camera to get a shot on the big screens. Where were you sitting?

Hi Kathy:

Sam and I were about 6 rows right behind you. I honestly don't know where my mind was that nite -- somewhere in the clouds with John I guess, because I can't remember much of anything specific, as I said. I just know I never wanted it to end and wanted so badly to hug everyone in the room. There was so much energy and emotion in there! That was one of those times that you wish you could make last forever -- you know like the joys of childbirth, wedding days, etc. It was that same kind of feeling -- happy and sad at the same time -- happy that you had the experience but extremely sad that the emotional peak you feel just can't continue.

Anyway -- I did not go to Toledo, just Columbus. I hope you enjoyed Toledo as much as Columbus. Was it pretty much the same?

Love,
Pudge

Kathymich517
05-24-2003, 02:19 PM
I enjoyed Toledo because I got to ask John a question. The people were great too but the energy in Columbus seemed overwhelming. I am sure you remember more of the seminar than you think. Maybe you are still on the spiritual high.

I wish I would have met you guys. we were standing in that lobbys for hours together and didn't even know it!

Hi again:

Someone suggested I bring pink balloons -- that is a "JE" sign. But I never got a chance to get them -- too much rushing around at the last minute. I'm sorry that Toledo was a little disappointing, but in show-biz they call that "second nite let down". Too much energy the first nite and then the second usually suffers. Perhaps that's not the case with John, but maybe you were spiritually exhausted, especially after all the energy in Columbus. Were there as many people there?

Have a great holiday weekend -- I certainly hope the weather is better wherever you are than it is here. It's cold, rainy and just all around awful!!!!! :(

Hugs,
Pudge

The "overwhelming energy" in Columbus was a GOOD thing! I am sorry if I implied I enjoyed it less. Every seminar is different and in the four I have attended, I have not been to a bad one :)
I saw women with pink balloons in Toledo bit did not have the nerve to approach them and ask questions.
Were you in the packed lobby in Columbus when the fire alarms went off?! My fisrt thought was everyone was going to panic but nobody moved! It was too funny to see bells and alarms going off but no one willing to leave their place in line. The older ladies ahead of us in line said without concern "It will take a while to burn up through 3 floors..I am not leaving my spot!" Dedicate to the process!

 kathy, we were sitting behind you about 6 rows , right next to the lady who asked JE the question about the ring that he wears and its significance. the energy was overwhelming , wasnt it?! and as for the fire alarms, that is soooo funny. " dedicated to the process" and how!! so glad for you that you were able to attend both toledo and columbus but i am sure you had to be exhausted afterwards!! did you flip when that sara mclaughlin song came on in the next room ( there was a junior dance competion; how appropriate!) right when he said that he was hearing that song for the woman he was reading??

pudgy was on the floor by that time, so i dont know if she recalls it or not!!

wish we could have met you while we were in line!

It still gives me goose bumps to think about the song coming through for the sisters Absolutely amazing! You are right I was exhausted by the time I finally got in my seat in Columbus. The day before, in Toledo, I stood 8 hours outside in the cold and did not get home until 1215a Friday morning. Set the alarm for 6a and started for Columbus..about 3and a half hours from home. Stood in line all day there but at least it was inside! My friend took a nap on the floor, purse for a pillow. I was afraid if I tried that I would have slipped into a coma and missed it all:lwink:
Worth every ache, pain and the sleep loss. I get so geeked about being in the audience of a seminar with John, I will probably cross myself over with a heart attack if when he does bring through my loved ones!

Ok Sam, you should know the golden rule, if ya bring up a question that someone asks John, you must type in the reply LOL!! When I saw him in Chicago the lights started going crazy with the chandilears(cant spell lol) getting brighter and shifting design. He looked to the back and said please tell me someone back there is messing with the lights. We were all laughing, at first I think everyone was thinking someone on the other side is trying to get everyones attention. I am still trying to see if I can put together some money and time to go to his workshop. I just wish he would do one closer, like Chicago or Madison would be nice. I can't wait to go to another seminar.

:jumper:  ee gads...( i need an ee gads face) sorry paula, how dare i break the golden rule ( and on a Sunday even!)

well ...truth is...i dont remember his answer...  LOL here i am beating jeannie about about being in lala land and now i cant even think...let me think.. i THINK he said it was his uncle's ( carmine?? i dont know for sure) and it was given to him... next time i know better than to bring up a question if i dont know the answer! you see, i was busy holding pudgy up off the floor half the night etc!! i have read other people saying they go into a fog after a seminar or workshop and others are clear as day; hmmmm wonder why? i keep hoping that i will remember more. sorry:( . he did answer a question about the KImmel show, i think someone posted that. there was a funny time when one of his assistants asked him over the mic if he could find this mans wife. the look he gave her was soooo funny!! and he said "are we taking requests now?" and the assistant said" no...he cant find his wife in the room; he lost her in the crowd!" that was funny. sorry paula; wish i could do better!

Thats ok!!! I am just so curious (which kills the cat if I remember right lol) I do understand being in the fog. I had my pen and a tablet full of paper just ready to take perfect notes. Hmm not one thing ended up on paper. I was so captivated in all the readings that I could not possibly take notes cause I might just miss something.

Hi Guys -- here's the airhead!

I actually thought that the Toledo seminar was on Saturday, not Thursday. Kathy, you must have felt like you'd been raked over the coals by the time Columbus was over. Oh and by the way -- wasn't trying to get out of the parking lot just more fun than even standing in line? Honestly, the things we do for love!

And another thing......it's really a good thing I had Sam next to me because she brought me back to reality several times:eek: . I'm just wondering what happened to me -- has anyone else ever had that experience -- where you have been somewhere and the whole thing remains like a dream in your head? I wish I could go back and do it again so I can remember more. I do remember his mentioning when that guy was looking for his wife that he oniy "did dead people", which was very funny.

Okay Sam.....and Kathy......bring on any more info you can remember. (The Sara McLaughlin song was THE most amazing part of the evening, I have to admit).

Love,
Pudge

Do you remember the guy who John threatened "to come down there and knock you off your chair"? It was a guy struggling to come up with a comteporary crossed over. Neither he nor the wife could figure it out so the man says "Give me more information" ...like John would be holding back anything! That was what prompted the rather serious response from John. Seconds of silence later John smiled and said "or not". Remember him?

yesss!! right on kathy you have moe brain than pudge and i!! rock on!! lol....do you remember when the first quesiton he took the girl grabbed the mic and said her brother had CO and she wanted to know if he was ok. and JE was like" uhhhhhhhhhh no she didnt!!" and the whole " ooooo bad" reprimanding? i kinda felt bad for her, like she didnt get that she was supposed to ask a general question, not like a "can you read me" . and then i dont even think she asked her question. or do you remember how he kept drooling his water down the front of him and looking at the bottle ( making sure there werent holes in it!) and laughing??

he was soo endearing and kind amongst being so gifted and in tune. it is starting to come back to me.....uh-oh i hear a song coming on....

"its all coming back to me now..." darn who was that?? :jumper:

Hi everyone. I just found this site after hearing it mentioned at the Columbus show. I was there and got a reading at the very end. Wish he hadn't been so rushed! I don't suppose there is anyway to get tapes of the seminars is there? I was so excited, I forget half of what he said! I wanted to make mention of the lady looking for her husband. I was sitting near the back and twice through the evening she was escorted by security. Once to her seat, and once out of the room. I don't know what was up with her! Twice she was really crying and then another time, we seen her up in the balcony. I think security was following her then also. I was impressed by the specially designed shark tattoo reading. I felt bad for the drowend 2yo also, but thought it odd they were training him for the Olympics at such an early age. Thanks for sharing!

Welcome! I would call or email the Hyatt Regency Convention Center and ask them about getting a copy of the seminar tape. I was also there..second row from the front...trying to remember your reading..what was it about?

I was near the back and it was one of the last readings. He was taking a question from the gentleman in front of me and then jumped back to me and wanted to know who the little boy was (which would have been my son Kristofer who was stillborn), then he brought up about Phyllis (my daughter's mother-in-law) and the age difference between the little boy and my daughter (9 years). He also brought up about 5 dogs which we never did figure out!

Sherry, I could be wrong, but I don't believe that the venues where seminars are held would have copies of the seminars. If the seminar was taped at all, it would be the property of JE's production company, and not the Convention Center. I doubt that they'd have the rights to distribute.

Are you sure it was taped? Very often there are cameras there, just so the audience can see who's getting a reading on the big screen, but it isn't recorded.

Frankly, I've never heard of anyone getting tapes of seminars. Gallery members don't even get tapes of their readings. From what I understand, they have to wait to see it on Crossing Over, just like the rest of us!

I think you are right, TXJUDE..the camera are for imaging on the screen. I don't think it could hurt to ask though. It would be hard to get a reading at a seminar and not want a recording of it. I hope someone took notes for you!

I didn't figure tapes were available, but I was hoping maybe they were available for purchase and I just wasn't aware of it. Thanks anyway!

Hi Sherry,

When I had my reading in SF I asked Carol (JE's assistant) after the seminar if there were tapes and she said they do not tape seminars, unless the are putting together a tape for CO.

I sure know how you feel! I tried really hard to write everything down as soon as my reading ended but I would have loved a tape!
